This site may help assuming you haven't already looked through here:

There's information about how to construct a custom windows I386 from the original disc. I've actually done this with a 30 GB iPod and it worked relatively well.
Edit: After rereading the topic title, it looks as though you're interested in installing rather than running Windows from USB.

Well, what can you say. I really enjoyed this run, in part because I like the game itself but also because of how well everything came together.
The whole layout of this game is a nice mess. It feels so random and you question why Earthworm Jim even goes to the places he does. I mean, I know why but man, just look where he goes and what he faces (without questioning that he's an earthworm).
Anyway, aesthetically speaking, this run looked great. I liked the playaround bits and the overall smoothness. It felt like you never really broke action, from start to finish. And there were a few moments that you made subtle to the casual viewer. I thought that was a nice touch (I tend to speak in nothings to not ruin the fun).
This is an easy yes vote and a well deserved one, at that.

Superb!
Man, a lot of good ideas showcased and overall, masterful execution. I liked how it progressed, how everything just got more hardcore. Looked like a lot of work coming up with a believable but tool-assisted 2 player controlled fight. I applaud such effort.
Yes vote.

Wow, freaking awesome. You're a genius, man.
Some of those combos just had me in awe, even if this is Rainbow edition. I especially liked one of which ended with a Shoryuken. There were a lot of good ones, for sure.
One thing I thought while watching was you absolutely humiliate the AI but I notice you don't even give it a chance. Not that that is a bad thing, it was great but it has given me ideas as to what else can be showcased in a run of a fighting game.
Well, overall, really good run. I enjoyed it thoroughly. Good job.

GameTrailers sucks. Their encoder only handles like three formats and the specifications have to be pretty low on CPU usage or else their encoder freaks out and leaves it in limbo for about 3 days.
Not only does their encoder suck but uploading is a pain. You can only upload video that's 200MBs or smaller. Sometimes uploading will just lose focus and it'll either start over or just go back to 0% and never budge.
It also has the same/similar problem that ScrewAttack has where it'll really mess up the resolution.
There's a lot wrong with GameTrailers and their encoder. The community is pretty much full of morons but there are some cool people with an open mind that actually enjoy TASes.
I'm not saying that we shouldn't give them a try but be forewarned, it's frustrating because of how little control you have.

Doesn't seem like this has a place on TASVideos but looking at the comments on YouTube, they seem to like your fighting.
I say, don't give up. Keep making movies. Keep trying to get better. Stay creative and have fun doing it, the whole way.
Don't worry too much about TASVideos and its criticisms, after all, it's a tough crowd.
As for this movie, I watched maybe 1 round and thought to myself "it felt Tool-Assisted but definitely nothing noteworthy." I don't know much about SF3 so there's no help there either.
I won't vote because it won't matter (plus, it'd be unfair without witnessing the run in full).

Another thing to consider is testing boss fights beforehand so that you know how many hearts you're going to need. But when you do this you'll also want to know if getting certain hearts would actually be faster than if you were to skip them and remove an axe hit here and there.
Look at the level with the 3 boss clump. It's apparent you're going to need a lot of hearts but a lot of the early hearts require you to jump which has you lose some ground. If you find out you don't need those hearts then you should skip them.
This sounds like a real pain of going back and forth between the level and the boss fight but if you have the boss fight test already done then all you really have to do is find out where you shouldn't throw an axe.

Interesting.
Yeah, my Grant TAS isn't anything all too great, especially compared to today's standards. I was a really inexperienced TASer when I worked on it, on each version (the latest version is no exception as well as the other CV3 runs on the site). I didn't measure frames between hits; everything was done visually. I didn't measure fastest means of progressing through the levels. I also didn't test nearly enough things like how many hearts would I need for each boss and if it would end up being convenient enough to get the hearts and not lose time.
I've since learned a lot more about TASing but it's funny how one's motivation can just decline even though they know they can do better. Sorry, I don't mean to get philosophical. Instead, I think I'll list a few things I've learned that may or may not be helpful.
One thing I've noticed is that you're able to hit the bosses 1 frame faster per hit allowed if there's a sub-weapon in use, on screen (that's what I remember, anyway).
Another thing is combining hits to occur on the same frame. This actually may not be useful because it tends to hit less in the long run unless it ends up not mattering (if the boss ends up going down in the same number of hits, it would end up being faster this way). What I mean is, say you throw a cross before the boss comes to life (assuming you're trying to hit him as soon as possible) and then you also swing your whip to strike on the same frame as the cross. It'll end up doing less damage than it would if you were to wait a frame or two for the whip to hit.
Another thing in the fight with the Frankenstein monster, there's that breakable brick above that drops a meat. It not only drops a meat but also like 3 little rocks. Those rocks actually can do some damage (I can't remember how much but I think it's depends on if all the rocks get involved). Might be useful.
One of the last things I can think of is how many frames it takes for your life to be recounted up based on how much you're missing at the end of the level. That's another thing that should be taken into account.
If I remember anything else, I'll be sure to let you know.
I've watched your WIP so far and I have to say it's looking great. I can see you really worked at getting things to work in your favor, enemy placement-wise (among other things). I also like what you do during the auto-scrolling areas.
I'm looking forward to the finished run so best of luck.

I've messed around with this glitch and it does work in both the US and Japanese versions of the game.
Grant is required for this glitch to work. The way it can work (I assume there are other ways or at least one other way, as you describe) is using Grant to walk all the way up the stairs to the end step (just before going to the next screen) and then start to go up and in mid step, change to Trevor. You'll notice your alignment with the stairs is slightly off (you'll be above the stairs).
It can be done the same way with Trevor but you must have Grant. You get the the bottom part of the stairs, start moving down and in mid animation, change to Grant and you should be slightly below the stairs.
I'm recalling this all from memory and I could actually be remembering how to do it backwards but that's the gist of how the glitch works (you got to switch characters just before entering the next screen).
Anyway, with your alignment off from the stairs, as long as there's nothing to stop you (platforms or enemies), you should be able to climb indefinitely into another area (by leaving the screen).
The other area will look all glitched and garbled and honestly, I believe the layout will be random based on the time you enter the area. If you look closely, it's actually other areas' interiors of the game but all garbled. The more you climb into different areas, the more you may progress through the game's levels (you may get further or it may fluctuate from level to level).
I've always wanted to really explore the areas and find out if it were possible to get to Dracula and defeat him and see if it does in fact complete the game but I've been really lazy and unmotivated. I might get around to figuring this out someday but not likely soon because I'm just not feeling the love anymore.

I watched a majority of this run and I vote yes on it.
Improvements? Hah, yeah we know... But that doesn't hinder the integrity of this run, to me that is. Hopefully it doesn't to others as well.
Anyway, good job on doing a, uh, good job... In all seriousness, it's a good run.

I don't think they plan to replace the MKII TAS with this TAS as they're both relatively unique and offer different things... differently (heh, not really :)). But if they were to replace the MKII TAS, I'd be all for it as I don't feel it's aging well and I actually think I could make it better, cleaner, funner, and more fluent. But enough of slight off-topicness.
Congrats SDR on what looks like a shoe-in :) . Keep on TASing.

Might be because he ends his movies after the credits, according to his submission texts.
I can't get this movie to sync up on any version of Gens. I've even tried using different versions of the game as well as converting it (Who knows if that could even help/hurt). I've tried messing with settings, deleting config files but still nothing.
But reading in your submission text, it sounds like you found another place to zip.

There's some AI humiliation, deking them out at the last moment, making them think they can hit you "if timed right." That's a good start, right away.
The fighting is a bit repetitive but that is to be expected when you can't pick someone else every round. It's also expected since it's a fighting game with many fights and not enough diversity built in the game (can't do much about that). This sticks out prominently, I'm afraid.
I like your effort in the fighting though. You try to change it up by not doing the same or similar combos every fight; each fight felt like it had a different approach (again, as different as the game allows) which makes sense since the Enemy AI isn't always going to be the same.
I'm not really fond of the fighting Reptile 3 times. I wonder if you could avoid that (by Blocking or taking damage) and just fight him during the Endurance fight? Can you avoid fighting him in The Pit stage if FLAG3 is ON?
Lastly, the Boss fights were pure ownage and hilarity. It's always fun to just have "control" over them, isn't it :) .
About submitting this run:
You're really not getting much feedback in this thread so submitting it would likely gain you more feedback as to what people might like to see and not see (it's a bit unfair, for sure).
If you decide to submit, make sure to include exactly what emulator you used because on the latest Gens it desyncs. Gens 9c worked fine. I imagine all versions before 9c would work too.
Maybe a little LUA scripting could make this run more entertaining by having a script allow you to change characters every fight?

Hmm...
My first TAS of this game showed that trick off in the very first fight. My first TAS of this game was also faster than this. I also noticed you didn't abuse the bicycle kick from before the fight started (if you hold low-kick before the fight even starts, it'll think you've been holding it for ages meaning you could instantly start the bicycle kick if you let go of low-kick on the correct frame).
So yeah, no vote.

This was a really good run, I enjoyed it thoroughly even without knowing the game all that much.
It seemed to get better and better combo-wise as you progressed. I'd say this could be deemed a 'many aspects' run what with all the speedy combos, all the characters being used (I think that's all of them), and other stuff to fit the criteria (the after-round hits done occasionally, and showing off all the specials/supers/whatevers, etc.).
So yeah, nice run SDR. Keep on TASing. Yes vote.

That was laughably fun.
This reminds me a bit of the Tetris TAS (as it should, right? There's more thought to this than I lead on).
Yes vote. Nice demonstration.

I think what he was getting at was the fact that it's an improvement. One person would probably feel their yes vote won't matter and that it'll get published regardless. Also, there was probably some sarcasm in his words too (is sarcasm the word I'm looking for?). But yeah, it can indeed be considered a worthless comment at that.
Well, while I'm here, I guess I'll check out the run :) .
Edit: I don't really remember the old run aesthetically so I'll have to skim through it to really give a comparison.
This run, however, I enjoyed. It had all the little things possible to make it that much more interesting (99 1ups, that weird 1up sound effect, the whole Tool-Assisted feel of precision and rapid fire :) , etc.). Yes vote, for sure as it's a nice improvement.
