There is a Select cheat to make the game run faster. I had a WIP started of this using it. It would be much better to watch that way.

Indeed. A 7 second improvement with the use of new glitches on rockman2 is pretty good. The death glitch's were perfmormed perfect. Nice work Shinryuu!(I also say nice work to the helpers who made this improvement possible) Yes vote.

I can definately say that TASing Battlemaniacs and learning faster tricks and moves from FODA is what helped me get the world record. This reminds me to make a new video and submit it to SDA....

Yeah, What's up has the best lyrics, but "My voice" has a nice beat.

The track "What's up" is now my favorite rap song of all time. You kick some ass man! But, since I am really bad at picking out lyrics while listening, i had to look at the lyrics while i listened(I always had to do that with any song) and the beat syncs is so well. You have some real talent bro. Both at singing, writing, and producing.

No problem man, I really like this. The chorus of "My Voice" is stuck in my head. That's my favorite song so far. I also like the Gradius reference :)

I have listened to quite a variety of song categorys. Such as techno, rap, dance or anything that I actually like for basically as long as a time as you. I must say, it is better than alot I have heard. Have you heard of Class?(aka classified) his song the maritimes he raps about what its like to have a party where hes from(the same area as me) which is awesome. But ah, yeah. Ive listened to the first 3 songs on your CD and I like them. Great work. You could definatly make the big bucks if you wanted to. Your voice seems really natural for rapping. When I listen to more tracks I will post again but man, is it cool is I put these songs on my Ipod? As you can tell I really like them.

Vatchern: <3 How far along are you? Re: Glitch definition: It'd be tough to agree on this completely as a community, or even for some individuals to come up with clear definitions. With Vatchern already started, I'd say it's best for him to continue according to whatever rules he set himself, instead of defining rules and saying anyone who TAS's Rockman w/o glitches must follow those rules.
Just starting Wily stages. But, Bisqwit has stated that no matter what i create he can make my movie 40 frames faster at least. I am doubting that my work up to this point has been perfect so I have sent Bisqwit a copy of my WIP. Deciding on what he has to say about my work will decide if I will start over or not. Since he knows ways to optimize sub-pixel things, I may end up starting over and working with Bisqwit instead. About the glitch definitions, I am 5% unsure about all of them. When I speedrun I usually go by TwinGalaxie rulings but one of them is questionable.

Are you asking me to name out everything that is a glitch?

As for not using glitches at all, I think it may need to be specified and "standardized" what is considered a glitch and what isn't in this game. Else it may be difficult to judge whether the run is perfect or not.

I'm sorry, but, I am against using glitches when making this run. There wil be only 1 long/boring battle and that will be fighting the yellow devil in wily1. Other than that, I will have to perform some luck to create the fastest battles.
If you wish for my assistance in your run, I'd be happy to provide it. Particularly, I can probably give some insight in 1-2 frame subpixel optimizations :) Alternatively, you can make the run, and watch me beat it by 40 frames :P
Well, if you want to take my run after I am done and hex it you can. But, I am already started and quite far. I realize that I am not a Megaman1 TAS expert, but I know alot of tricks already from speedrunning which makes me work really fast. Also, I have been using MemoryWatch since FODA taught me how, so that has helped alot in gutsman and cutman.

*See page 2 for original discussion I personally think that the pause+damage trick ought to be allowed... since it really shortens boss fights which get tedious after a while (especially willy1). As long as the tricks could be performed easily enough on a console, I think it should be included; in other words, I would like a no-zip run rather than a no-glitch run. It would be like the standard no warp tag, since zipping is like warping through parts of the stage and avoiding enemies/bosses.

Also, an entirely no-glitch movie would somewhat be contradictory to the goals of this site.
Then how about prohibiting only zipping glitch?
That would work... together with pause+>damage trick prohibition, I guess? Or does someone not want to watch a three-minute long Wily1 boss fight? :)
I am started already on working on this. Even though, Bisqwit you have more experience than me with TASing megaman1, I hope you will improve my attempt by alot. I am using no glitches period. EDIT: also, great discovery in wily2. i loved it.

It may be slooooooow, but its still cool. Ir probably has the same difficulty to do in realtime as the megaman magnet beam glitch.

Actually, I wouldn't mind if someone made a .gif of SMB3 zipping.

The rockman/megaman Magnet beam trick is a very popular trick on this site/forum. It is abusable to beat rockman/megaman in unimaginable times. It skips even very important things in the game such as refights which you must do in order to move on. I can't think of any other game which has this sort of maneuver that can change the game so much.(Not counting Left+Right).

I really don't see a point in this since it is all opinionated. So, my list of top 4 players that i respect the most has always been in my profile in no specific order: Phil, Foda, Angerfist, Bisqwit. Also, since ii'm at it, i always had a "top 3 runs" that i like the most on my personal page with a specific order of which i like the most. 1. Dehacked's MegamanX. 2. Phil's Double dragon. 3. Bisqwit's and Shinryuu's rockman2.

Warp: My intentions for my holy diver movie(suggested also by foda) was to have a "no damage taken" run beccause the game is so hard. It is impossible to take no hits in that game normally playing, let alone just plain beating the game. Also, I agree with warp. I wouldn't protest either the "takes no hit" runs, but its not up to just a couple people to decide on the run being published or not(as warp stated).

Kyrsimys: I see where you are comming from, but now a days, people always look for the fastest way to beat the game. Its not all about style anymore(in general), its about what is fastest. I agree also, that I really did enjoy Morimoto's runs of rockman and rockman2, but even now in speedruns, the user will take a hit. Take my speedrun of rockman(which is obsoleted), I take hits is various places to actually save time.

I was actually starting a small only minimalist run. I was wondering if it would be even worth submitting? I asked skamastaG for example and he said it will just be like the 86 or so run. I agree on this but I also think a minimalist run will be more obsoleted and beaten, and I thought this is a good way to start it off, what do you guys think? If it isn't worth submitting then it isn't worth even doing. So anyway heres a preview http://dehacked.2y.net/microstorage.php/info/2712/small%20only.smv Thanks, Mrz
Like greginator said, this would be way too identical to their 86 exit run. I mean it's the exact same run, minus grabbing Yoshi coins.
I agree with Fabian.
