As for 4-2, I've managed to end up like 2-3 frames faster du to some new technique I found but it wasn't useful due to 21 frames rule.
so technically, couldn't the current SMB1 TAS be more entertaining by purposly wasting what ever frames they have to wait for the frame-rule? since it can be done? or, does the current TAS already do this.

Yeah, this is usually true. Because there are some games when you never lose control, even after you beat the game... (atlantis no nazo)

Ok, i've been waiting for this. You missed one trick at the bridge. I did not like how the 4 warehouse gang members was handled, it almost looks slower than mine. did you test if it was? But the boss fight was excellent. Nice job. About the blade fight. Around the end when you knock down your partner, isn't it possible to pick him up and hit Blade for more damage? Also though, a nice fight. Strange way to get through the wall in the warehouse, though it looks faster. is it? At 11200, in that room it seems like you could have glitched-death alot faster. Turk can die that fast? very impressed. but, after the turk fight, you seem to head back to kill a gang member... couldn't you have made it so he appears in front of you? The Mojo fight was ok.. When you enter the factory building, in the long room you dont kill off anyone... is there a reason? because it looks like there is lag. The Thor fight seemed like player 2 handled it all. any reason? Hmm, nice randomness placements for the Gang before the otis fight, but after the otis fight I feel that you could have started to run away from him alot sooner than you did. Hmm, This seems to be a wrong submission? lol, no, this ending is very unentertaining.... I don't like it really. I am going to hold my vote until you answer my questions i have stated.

Hi wazkatango! I'm sorry that you decided to TAS this game. even though it is a great game to play, the majority does not find it entertaining to watch, so I doubt that a TAS for this game will ever be accepted. But, don't let this discourage you. There are many games left to do. cheers.

Sorry about double posting, but, Here is an example of me speedrunning mm1 in 25:42. http://dehacked.2y.net/microstorage.php/info/1654978604/Vatchern-walkthrough-2542.fcm This is a sloppy run with many mistakes, but no deaths. enjoy.

If that is their opinion so be it. I can understand why speedrunners dislike TAS's because I am a speedrunner myself. I can see why they call them "fake" and " not real". I can compare my hatred for Hacks, in a sunglasses manner. People who buy Oakleys. They like them, they are real. And I can garentee they dislike the "fake" oakleys you can buy for $15.

Ok, So you are saying that NO store has older carts for sale? I guess it sucks where you are, because there are stores here that are dedicated for that. I am walk in and buy NES, SNES, N64 and all that. Also, I can still buy carts off Ebay, ever heard of that? its a site where you can bid on items, such as, collectable games, such as NES/SNES/N64 carts. Its a real nice website/online STORE. you should check it out. Also, no, i dont play java/flash games that often, nor have i for years. I never heard of cave story or within a deep forest either. sorry. Replaceing nouns is not a good way to to state a case.

This does make sense, hence why HACKS were banned from this site from the start.
Funny how you don't provide any supporting statements that it makes any sense. Like explaining how maybe.
I dont understand why it needs to be explained. I just dislike all HACKS. I only like games that I can go to the store and be able to BUY. It's my opinion. HACKS are stupid pathetic attempts and people trying to be creative. There is only one HACK I dont think is completely stupid and that is a HACK for Rockman1, based on using glitching skills in order to beat the game and knowledge. I still wouldn't want a TAS for it, as it would be un-entertaining. (no offence to the creator). Also, It does also make sense for me not to like any Gens system game, because I hated the gens controllers, and I dislike the graphics(no offence to any gens fan or author of tas). I am a Nintendo fan. But, since Gens is real, im not going to write rants on submissions of them. but HACKS are not real.

Have to agree with moozooh here. I've never heard you say: "Another Gens submission, *sigh*.".
I never say such a thing about a gens submission naturally because gens runs are always accepted here as normal TAS's. HACKS were usually not accepted here, and most arent. lets keep it this way.

Well, generally the reason why is because I like to watch TAS movies of games I can play on a consol. I can watch them and relate to games I played as a child. This is mostly why too I dislike Gens because I never owned one, or have I wanted to. meaning I am very unfamilar with all gens games. I can't relate to myself actually playing the game. This goes the same for Hacks. I've never seen this game before, and someone beats it fast. for me, It is hard to be entertained this way. I might be impressed if it is TAS'd very well, but the goal of the site is entertainment. I am probably alone with my opinion on this one. and no, I am not trying to remove all hacks from the site, and I have nothing against the authors who have or will make a TAS for a hack.

Its hard to rely on tech rating when it is a biased system.

Before the publication of the database-backed version of Nesvideos site, I often had the habit of updating the movie text of the old movie with a note something like "This movie has been improved, a new movie will be published soon!". Perhaps some editors could volunteer to do similar work here? :)
Is there really a need to do this?

I watched my first TAS years back. Rockman - Morimoto. When I first watched it, I thought it was a speedrun, and I tried to beat his time speedrunning. After I figured out there was a url on the video, i visited the site, and voila. I never tried to beat morimoto after that.

Speaking of which, is he going to submit that new run to SDA?

Never thought I'd see a NES game that looks like it requires a TAS just to complete it. I could see lots of sudden traps and nasty surprises that would certianly kill an unsuspecting player. The amount of enemies was pretty nuts as well. Nice run for sure.
Thanks!. But yeah, this game is brutal. The furthest I have gotten is level 4 boss, and the furthest that I have known that someone else has gotten to is level 6. Level 6 is nuts.

I understand that alot of people find it less entertaining. Since this site is basically a "art show" to entertain the audience with how creative your movie is, and in what way is it creative. My art form was just to literally beat up the boss's which I find entertaining, which is why I made it. It took on a totally different approach to the game than what Sleepz did. Also used 2P with strange glitches.

Chamale, you may get some competition with this run. EDIT: I have a new strategy that should be able to be 50-70 seconds faster than my last submission. But it will take time to optimize/make entertaining. Also, I am working on another project too, so who knows when I will finish this. So, good luck.
