I recommend that you use the (J) version - if only because of the name: "Space Funky B.O.B."

Watched the AVI, liked it. Yes. (I think an "all secret rooms" would be a good watch too, what do you think?)

...well, it's like this: the whole turtle, dragon palace, lady thing comes from a Japanese fable - guy gets taken by a turtle to an undersea palace, meets a princess, guy lives there for awhile, gets homesick, gets box with a warning not to open it, comes back and finds everyone he's ever known or loved is dead, opens box and -surprise!- gets turned into an old man (or a dessicated corpse) due to having actually lived underwater for hundreds of years without knowing it.

Why are you asking us for? STAND TALL UPON YOUR CONVICTION, AND GRASP DESTINY WITH YOUR OWN TWO HANDS! ...in other words, go for it.

So, I just finished watching the Dragon King part of the movie and was struck by how odd it was. Since it was only released in Japan, you'd figure that most players would know the story of the turtle and the undersea palace, and also know to not open the box, even when the turtle pesters you to (and indeed, the expected happens if you say no and change your mind). But if you open it right away, you get a reward?! Oh...Randil, Bisqwit, Upthorn, thank you all very much for your effort.

...well. So, I'm currently watching the run and starting to reconsider my "no" vote. For one thing, the full game is slow. It does tend to drag a bit, and just doesn't seem to have the same flow as the original Zelda did. Then again, that may be due to the deliberately unoptimized play here... Hmm. If my vote weren't already spent, I would vote "yes", with the condition that this movie would also be included, so that fans could see what they were and weren't missing. Baxter, thank you for your hard work.

Just curious: it seems that the movie was recorded with some of the sound channels disabled. It's most notable in the Bartzilla level, and the end credits. Was that necessary?

"Did I enjoy this run?" No. While I found the skipping to be interesting enough, I would have preferred to see the game played out is it was meant to be.

This could be a powerful boost to TAS support - not just the notoriety of the person, but people creating TAS videos and then using that information to make more refined regular speedruns. ...just a thought.

Personally, I found the "preview AVI" too noisy and distracting to enjoy. On the other hand, I am impressed that you were able to create a no-death four-game run. Meh.

This is great. Thank you for keeping up on this - when I saw it had been taken out of "NES Games" I thought interest had dried up.

This might be better suited for a "Baseball Simulator 1.000" romhack. At least that way you can give the players super powers.

Everybody already saw this, right? Here's the torrent.

I will also vote "No", as I also prefer full-track runs rather than shortcuts. As an aside, I thought the emulator made everything look excellent, so it was a shame to not see all the Rainbow Road "effects".

What about if you put together a "portfolio" of GB and GBA movies to show what can be done with a shared, semiopen source medium? If there's interest, then propose making nitsuja (or whoever) an "unofficial" member of the team for the purposes of coding in re-recording.

I'm very pleased that people have taken an interest in this, to create a good first published run, and now a second, even better one. Thank you for your interest, both of you, and of course, everyone who voted, even if you thought the game was boring.

Ok, it's probably not from the same person who made "Air", but I thought this was pretty similar. Would this be considered acceptable fodder?

I've seen my name on a number of different message boards--however, "Viewer" is a common word...

Well, here's the first mission, to give folks an idea of a possible "view script" run. Critique on the flying is also welcome, of course.

So, here it is--TASVideos' second TAS of a PC game! ...or not, seeing as it would be a TAS of a port of a PC game. Anyway, I'm sure many of you are familiar with this game (or The Secret Missions, another port), and have fond memories of it, such as trying to get a clear shot at your enemy as your shields are down and the panic music is playing, gritting your teeth as you weave your way through an asteroid/mine field, or shooting down Maniac after he refuses to obey your commands again. So, here's the thing--there are three ways a run on this could be made: the "fast as possible" method, which involves ejecting one's way to victory; out of 18 possible missions, only four need to be played, and once on the Venice, it's impossible to fail (unless you die, which wouldn't make the run any faster). There's also the standard path, which involves completing enough missions successfully (possibly ejecting, if desired) to move along the chain to Venice, the final route (which can be played normally or ejected through, as already mentioned). Finally, there's the longest path, which involves failing a couple of mission sets in order to play through six more missions (and get more kills). In any case, a FAQ with the details can be found here. One more thing: Wing Commander has a fair amount of dialog detailing the story (Briefing, Debriefing, and Ceremony--Bar Chat is useless), so considering the row going on over Star Control 2, would those watching such a run prefer the dialog to be skimmed through fairly quickly (say, 3 seconds per chunk of text), or skipped entirely (leaving more time for space combat)?
