I’ve found out that in Sonic 2 XL you can take monitors with negative vertical speed, which means that you can take Amy’s route in Emerald Hill 1. However, you will become very fat and incredibly slow.

Well, then I got another question. This game was TASed by nitsuja, you, Sonikkustar and many others very experienced TASers, why didn’t anyone try so obvious thing before?

Oh wow… This level wrap seems to me so obvious now… I wonder how didn’t I try it when I TASed this level… And so Sonic has restored his status quo over Amy (my Amy TAS was 1 frame faster than Aglar’s result with Sonic). (upd) it seems not to be possible for Amy to gain so huge speed there. It’s about 4500, right? Because there is also a slope which decelerates you, and your speed has to be over 4096 at the beginning of the level… P.S.: TASed it a bit, and nearly got 4096 with Amy, but it took much longer route to make :( also it’s still less than enough to perform level wrap. Are you sure it’s RTS?.. How you aligned yourself perfectly? And how the hell you tricked the air speed cap?..

You have to understand this is my 1st TAS EVER
No, it’s you who has to understand that submitting your first TAS is not a good idea. Seriously, I would not like if someone’s first run was published from the first attempt, while I have been TASing for years and still didn’t make any submission considering my experience still far from perfect. It’s gonna be my first «No» vote. :)

Hi friends, here I got my new tool assisted speedrun of Pana der Hejhog. It’s faster than LTRP’s attempt of doing the same, but still improveable (and I know how to improve it). I am going to make it faster next time. Enjoy this for now. Link to video

When you are in rolling case or flying, you can move fast even when you are fat. And you can try to hit a monitor. This strategy can probably make the run significally faster. Also that was some kind of a trolling post :-p However, some months ago I made an attempt to make a regular TAS of Sonic 2 XL. I stucked on optimizing the loops, which probably does not mean that it cannot be done well. Link to video

Some of Tails jumps could probably be avoided by more agressive spindashing through objects. If I have mood, I will make a slightly optimized version of this run.

Lol, I was sure it was possible to spin dash through those rising columns, but it’s not. The terrain there makes you rolling infinitely when you hit the column. Otherwise, it would be possible without Tails jumping.

Spin dash may be useful sometimes. There are many objects in the game which can be passed through by spindashing through them.

Not always. Sometimes (especially when I TAS in casual manner) I made very obvious mistakes, like getting hit in my last TAS of Sandopolis 2, which could easilly be avoided — I was simply in hurry. Also there are a plenty of runs which are not intended to be speedruns, like this one. Finally, I doubt that such a looser as Kaizo can see any difference in the optimization level.

Can you implement optional displaying expected jump trajectory, or at least expected vector of the speed? (upd) just realized that the trajectory depends on how long you are pressing the jump button. So, displaying the direction of the jump would be enough.
