Thanks for the clarification. I have to say that I love this run and the game itself. I've never seen it before, but it's a really nice game with very good graphics and music. It's even hard to beleive that it's a 16 bit game... And the run makes it even more enjoyable, so glitchy. Definitely one of my favorite runs.

With reversed gravity most solid objects do not work as solid ones, simply because they were not designed for such player's position. The gameplay will be extremely glitchy, I think. And I still do not like the idea, why need so weird strategy? Why not to try other goals, like 100% kills, pacifist version, or to make a usual speedrun with Tails?

This was one of my first games. I discovered it before Sonic and Mario. So when I saw Sonic first time, I was 100% sure that it was an improved version of Somari :) Looks pretty slow, but I like it, so much memories ^_^ P.S.: but I agree with the desicion — if this run is not that good, it should not be published.

Oh wow… I guess it’s the most glitchy run I’ve ever seen! It’s even more impressive than Sonic 3 runs, full of glitches too…

As marjo said, even if you zip through a wall somewhere, you will gain so great speed that you will go offscreen, and you will not be able to collect rings there since the game does not check sprite collisions while you’re offscreen.

I beleive you can try to solve an easier task — like 100% kills, pacifist version, no rings run, etc. Unsure about “no rings” — maybe it’s impossible for some of the levels too…

Who designed the levels… It’s weird that they made ability to get perfect bonus for collecting all rings, but haven’t made it possible everywhere. Anyway, if not possible to collect those rings, it may be possible with some hack, especially if it adds only ability to fly and the current WIP syncs fine under it, but it’s not that interesting…

But it’s very nice to see so much zipping through walls anyway, not depending on character used. Loved your spindashing to music at ~10200.

Never got this issue. I got another one — it is impossible to dump video (gens produces avi files with no frames), but this does not make a huge problem — my friend helps me when I need a video.

I have to run gens-rerecording in wine. It takes all available CPU time and runs not so smooth as the native version. Same wish, it would be great to be able to run gens-rerecording natively under Linux (and other UNIX systems too!)

Is Amy in Sonic the Hedgehog 2 really supported? I get this error
ROM with checksum '0xa709' is unsupported.
I beleive the script actually works (since the game engine is the same), but it just does not have such checksum listed as supported one. However, I don’t wanna touch the code. I used ROM from Sonic Retro, version 1.5. And yes, what mr Felipe requests could be very useful thing too. Especially if it’s possible to display it in a separate window. (upd) Found rom-check.lua, gonna try simply to replace the listed checksum value

Sadly I plaid only Sonic games, Comix Zone and SMB (NES) in my childhood, so, other game runs look not so interesting for me. But fortunately lots of people TAS those games here :) The exception for me was Sparkler by Sonikkustar, looks nice game. So my wishlist is now only one game, but I’ve found it’s run on youtube. Don’t know about the technical quality of that run. The “funny” element of that game is that some bosses give up without any fight :)
