Got Hio on 9! Slightly changed the way I played on 8 to manipulate what wind I got on 9. Fixed my major gripe with the movie. Saved ~3 seconds. Link to new encode: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=0_6Mj_Wye6g Link to new bk2 file: http://tasvideos.org/userfiles/info/71033412345323961

I haven't tested all possible winds on 9, but from what I have, I've always been about ~10 yards away from the pin at best. Unfortunately, the only club that will even be close to the pin is the Driver, and you'll almost always need max power. The game's preset aiming options aren't very useful on this hole either, and there are only a few useful bars on the accuracy meter. All of these facts combine to make the potential amount of ways to hole in one go down drastically. It also would make sense if the developers attempted to make it impossible, as hole #9 is a par 5, and hole in ones on par 5s are something that never happen in golf. I'm not fully convinced its impossible though, and if anyone reading this wants to give it a try, I'd love to see it!

Great job McHazard! Mtpo is one of my personal favorite NES games, and its awesome to see the time brought down even further. Easy yes vote.

Not sure why, but when you initially turn on the game/finish the 9 holes, all that you'll see is the first hole rotating through different color palettes. You can still move your putter around, but it's impossible to hit the ball.

That sounds good to me! Very happy the TAS is even more optimized now, and I look forward to seeing where you made improvements.

Thanks for the questions :) I used the easy difficulty because it allows for putts to travel farther and quicker (just saving time in general). As for your second question, I had the choice of which to prioritize, speed or score, and I chose speed for no other reason then that's what I preferred to make/watch. I may end up making a best score TAS, but it'd definitely be slower by at least a few seconds.

The reason why I chose to TAS this game instead of all minigames/solo mode (the closest thing to a story mode) is simply that an all minigames TAS is already being worked on by TheProJamer, and solo mode is just a random selection of minigames with no other content besides menuing. To answer warmCabin's question: Match-Up doesn't appear in the standard minigame rotation. A normal playthrough of Match-Up would take at least 15 minutes (there are minigames every 3 rounds that add on to that time), while on average a regular minigame takes less then two minutes. To answer the questions about RNG: Once you start the game the colors of the Mii's shirts can't be changed in any way.

Yep! This TAS has an RTA time of 2:23. If your interested in the rules used for the RTA timings, they are: "Timing starts when you select 'Start'. Timing ends when 'Victory!' appears on screen at the end of the game". These rules are taken from the speedrun.com leaderboard for Wii Party https://www.speedrun.com/wii_party#Match-Up
