I'm sorry if I made it like you were not serious. I'm taking this project seriously too, and I'm trying to make it fit your rules. Sorry again.

I need help. The merchand in Altifaria procs this error message each time I exit the menu. When I click ok, it repop like ten times then close, and the TAS continues like nothing happens. Does not seem to create synchronization problems. I'm posting it here, hoping it's not too important

- Stats could lower if you change equipment to worse - Artifacts can't be lost - The family relationship can be lowered - I think it's still possible to maximize the family relationship after a bad action (but I will try to demonstrate only good actions) - I don't think food liking can be lowered This is the Discord Channel. You can go in #FFCC to join us https://discordapp.com/invite/0tjIC3eQA7VFd6Qw You know, when I made up those requirements, with the help of them, it was aknowledged it is a meme category. It's almost impossible to run, even if we just take all artifacts. Yes it would be possible to finish the game without even any equipment, yes it would be possible to have bad family relationship, but those are things that would simply complement the TAS without costing so much time, if any. In nature, the run is a demonstration of "perfection", and it's simply to perfect the experience. The 100% definition of the TAS is anyway meant to be different of the RTA because of RNG, mostly. But isn't TAS the time to go grandiose? That's how I see it. Anyway, we can talk about it on the Discord :) In short, I just want to show of the maximum this game can do, how far you can get. I would not be satisfied about a 100% that doesn't complete or max out everything, because, well, I love the game and want to see the MAXIMUM ;)

The discussion is on Discord, it's mostly between me and VerySydney. It's kinda a fragmented discussion, we discussed here and there while I was TASing the selkie%. Then, I suggested a list of requirements, and everyone seemed good with that. Not sure if I understand the question about all stats at the same time, but here's a try as an answer: What gives you permanent stats are artifacts and equipment. So "maxing the stats" is having the best equipment stat-wise and all the artifacts. And yes, it's all stats (strength, defense, magic, hearts, and command slot (kinda not a stat but required)) No worries for the accessory. It will actually make things faster, so it's worth :) While we are at it, here is Year 1 of the 100%: Link to video I had to redo the last dungeon to manipulate a different encounter, and I don't intend to redo a whole video just for that. It's the only thing that differs on this video.

Some thoughts? Hum, ok, I'll try to describe a bit, not sure exactly what you want ^^' So hem this TAS was really special for me because when I started TASing the game, I decided to use the Selkie race, since it's the race used by RTA runners. At the time, I was still inexperimented, and after a while, I judged buying weapons too long and decided to play Yuke for the next years. With a better understanding of the route and after finding the RTA Discord channel, I managed to create a route that, suprisingly, was faster than the Yuke. I had a lot of fun TASing it. It's really different from Yuke. Most of the dungeons are skipped straight to the boss, so it's less complicated (there is exceptions of course). The bosses are very fun because the strategies are completely different. Either I do focus attacks or physical combo attacks, it's really different than magic because bosses act differently. It was all and all a breath of fresh air after running Yuke for so long. Routing it was fun also, I discovered new items useful to sell for enough money to buy the weapons and finish the game. This needed a lot of rng manipulation, especially Mushroom Forest 1, and sometimes it was long. I finished the game with exactly enough money, no more no less, and I'm happy with it. As always, the ending is... Not really fun. Meteor Parasite, aside being a hard boss, have big down times. And after that, many many dialogues and cinematics. But eh, it's the end, and finishing it feels great :) I hope it answers your question. If there's anything else you want, ask me :)

Thank you for the compliment, I really appreciate it :) To answer your questions, no, 4 players would be even longer because I would have to create a whole new route to share the artifacts each dungeon, and it can't be optimised. Would take like twice the time, maybe more, than singleplayer. Also I would need more money, wich is a grind. These requirements are made for 1 character. We could theorically consider maxing out all 8 characters in the caravan, but it would be stupid and repetitive :P Maxing out stats is not that much of a grind. Indeed, even if we take out this requirement, we still have "all artifacts". And it's mainly artifacts that boosts de stats. Other than that it's simply doing some little detours here and there to craft the equipments. There is no exp, so it's not "farming the monsters". Well you COULD consider taking all artifacts as a grind, since we farm not monsters, but dungeons :3

More than 5 hours, maybe 6. Or I can be bad at estimates. EDIT: I'm stupid. I forgot I do lots of thing in one year. It's more like 9 hours. EDIT 2: Make it 10 EDIT 3: I sincerely don't know :'(

I discussed with the community about what should be 100% in a TAS, and here's the final result: "All requirements should be achievable with any character, any class and any family trade. Per example, this makes the Treasured and Father's unique weapons not necessary since it needs a blacksmith. -- Maxing out the character - Maximum stats possible (need highest equipment) - All artifacts (in relation with maximum stats) - At least one accessory (to fill the equipment screen) - Family relationship at its maximum - All food liked at 100% - All received letters opened and answered (kinda a completion thing) -- All unique memories - All Moogle stamps - All locations visited (wich should be done anyway with all Moogle stamps) - All cycle 3 dungeons beaten at least 1 time - All unique story and caravan events - Runaway Princess sidequest completed -- Other - Collect unique item Worn Bandanna with De Nam, The Pen Pal sidequest - Obtain the final ferry pass with Ferryman's Request sidequest - Unlock more items sold at Leuda with Love Letters sidequest - Buy a cow for your family to unlock milk at home - Restore all Pumpflower Plants in Veo Lu Sluice to make the river permanently filled -- Kill Meteor Parasite and end the game"

So hem hi guys. When I started selkie%, I didn't plan for it to be that fast. Long story short, I think my selkie% run can beat this any% run. Would it be possible to delay this publication and the all dungeons one? Because if Selkie% indeed is the new any%, then the All Dungeon TAS would be different enough to merit publication (maybe). My point is that could change a lot. Thank you, and sorry for the inconvenience ^^'

You need to select "yes" at that screen, and then the memory card is formatted for every next time you play the game. All playbacks work after clicking yes and reloading the game/movie. EDIT: Yeah that's it :3

This is the option to mmm I don't know the term, but "making the memory card usable". It asks the first time you open the game (either english or japanese) and from this point, after you select yes, it will never ask again (for either version of the game) EDIT: Formatting. That's the word.

I understand what you are saying, and I think you are right. I'm sorry for not taking into account this rule. I just assumed this as an improvement of the current all dungeons. If all dungeons is removed, then it will be. It's ok if the all dungeon is removed. It's ok if this submission is refused. The TAS still exists on Youtube for people who want to see the other dungeons ;) Thank you for your work :)

Link to video Year 1 of my selkie% run :D This year is the most complex because I have to do planned detours to get money (and bonus points). It feels long, but it's necessary, since I have to buy an early warrior's weapon racket, and later a master's weapon racket (also there are the boat fares) Enjoy :)

I'm so sorry guys I didn't really know how ending movies works, so I left unnecessary frames at the end. Here is the correct file, final time is 1:40:46.55 http://tasvideos.org/userfiles/info/52513800214644711 I did the same mistake for all dungeons, correcting it. Sorry again

I want to point a thing I saw after finishing the TAS: in Lynari desert, at some point, I do a little stutter (I don'k know if it's the good term). It was actually RNG manipulation where I needed to wait frames to manipulate the Artifact on the next room. I didn't know it would look ugly like that, I'm very sorry if it feels not optimised, I can assure you it's just a little "misstep" in my RNG manipulation.

I don't post progress often here, but I want to show what my new and improved year 4 all dungeons look like :) Having better magic helps, but I save a lot of seconds by better routing, especially Rebena Te Ra. Link to video 1min44sec ahead :D EDIT: I've redone the end of Rebena Te Ra and saved a bit more 1.5 seconds. I'll not make another video, the result will be with the full completed game.

The big problem with "all memories" is that it does not involve much more gameplay. Most of the memories are cinematics and dialogues. It would probably not be entertaining. Also, and I'm not sure, but each year gives one memory. So I think I would need to play a certain (big) number of years. There is no known achievement, at least I think, for having all memories. I don't even know what all memories are, I would have to do some research :3 There is no achievement either for all dungeons too but beating a dungeon for the first time is aknowledged by the game, thus beating all of them once gives you the related memories. So I think it's still a decent category (in my opinion). And yes, memories are the main theme of the game. Memories are even used against the final boss ^^ (tho I don't use them because my magic is so strong). The quiz at the end is also related to the memories.

There's no such branch at https://www.speedrun.com/ffcc. Does anyone know if there are talks about 100% goal for this game anywhere?
Not that I'm aware of. I talked to a guy who wanted to route a all artifacts, but it's still not really 100%. That would need some talk like you said.

All Dungeons is NOT 100% the game. BUT it is acknowledged by the game by giving you the memories. Ok so Memories are are a "page" in our adventure journal (the crystal chronicles). We gain a specific Memory each time we finish a dungeon for the first time, each time we visit a town for the first time, and each time we advance a story or sidequest (the scenes on the overworld). You can see all memories collected on the pause menu, and read them. There is no achievement, but you still get the specific memories of the dungeons completed. I decided to do All Dungeons because I tough it would be more entertaining to see all dungeons and all bosses from the game. Also, it's a RTA category on speedrun.com. There is many unique things that can be collected. - You can collect all artifacts (each can only be collected one time). It would take 25 years to complete (any% and all dungeons are 5 years). - You can collect all Moogle stamps. There is one in each area except Mount Vellenge (the final dungeon). They would require some useless detours in each place. I say useless because they only unlock memories and a minigame wich can't even be played on Dolphin. - You can collect all Memories (all the sidequests, all the events, all the dungeons, all the moogle stamps). - You can collect all the best weapons and accessories. "Best" is subjective tho, so it's not something simple. We would have to get all classes to get all gears anyway. I think that's it. I plan on doing, after finishing the next all dungeons, a "selkie%". The Selkie class is the prefered class for RTA any%, and it would show off a completely new and original route whith using physical attacks instead of magic. I hope it sounds ok :)

Oh, thank you. I put a lot of time working on it. To be really honest tho, it's not the most complex thing I've work on. When I see all those TAS on GBA, SNES, with things I don't understand like ramwatch, or lua scripts, I'm like "wow". I find TASing really impressive. I do this game without those tools tho, I'm like doing it manually. Per example, I need to play each dungeon each frame I want to manipulate de bonus points. With a script it might be easier, but I'm a super noob. What I like the most in this game is the routing. I work my creativity a lot to think about the fastest way to defeat a boss or to pass trough a dungeon. Oh boy I'm sounding like a narcissic. Sorry, I love to talk about my experience. Thank you again for your nice compliment, it warms my heart. Happy new year everyone :D

Yes it's barely faster because of loading times which really add up in a long run. If the TAS was done on a PS2 with Fast Disc Speed like the WR is, it would be way way faster like 6h15 or lower :) If you even compare with the segmented run done on PC, the segmented run is faster by a few minutes and it doesn"t use the big skip at the beginning.
My bad then. I'm not an expert ^^ It's impressive :)

The game is entertaining... But there's not much TAS to enjoy... For a close to 7 hours run, it's only 11 minutes faster than the RTA record, so it's pretty obvious cinematics take all the time. It's not that I don't like cinematics, it's just I want to be entertained by the TAS portion, and it seems a bit lacking. Again, it's my personnal opinion. I didn't watch the entire TAS, because it's pretty long, so I'll not vote. Whatever happens, I don't think it's too bad that a game like that go to Vault. It's still a any% record after all. When I first submitted my Final Fantasy run, I tough it would go to Vault for the same reason. I think it can deserve moon, but I'm sure the judge will be better than me to... Judge :P Finally, good work. It looks, on a technical standpoint, really well done. You can be proud :)
