This was one of the few runs that I didn't agree with the judging decision.
I followed it's development from marzojr's first WIP to the final publication and I liked it more and more. Mostly because the first thing you think about when you hear Tails and speedrunning is flying, and just flying all the time is boring. Luckily that's not always the case with this run(most places just use it for 1-2 sec), and the places flying is used helps to differentiate it from the other Sonic 1 runs.
There is indeed a Bonk 3. And it's two player simultaneous, as well. It was released on HuCard and CD, the soundtrack being the primary difference. I bet a 2PS run of that would be helluva weird.

Oh, that game. I remember buying it, opening the package and... Well I haven't played it yet and I bought it when it was brand new. The prequel was sweet though(but to easy).

Game Gear is (almost) a portable Master System.
SMS and GG had very similar hardware. GG even had an adapter that allowed SMS cartridges to be plugged in the GG.
Acoording to wikipedia, the screensize is about 3.2 inches (81 mm), with resolution being 160 x 144 pixel.
All SMS players also emulates GG.
But I thought SMS was higher resolution. How does the GG screen deal with that?

I can beat it, I could beat it even on my real game gear when I was 8... But I doubt a TAS where I lose 3 lives while fighting a boss would look good :(

During my years here I've only seen 2 movies rejected that I wanted published (1 of them being tails in sonic 1).
I have complete confidence in the judges decisions. That job is not easy and demands lots of wasted free time.

I should say that you can TAS any game that works on gamecube/wii
there are limited features, but enough to make a decent, although short, TAS video.

Considering that the subspace thing is just a big movie and the struggle to just get 1 ssb TAS published; I don't see any reason to make one of this game. But then again, short ones for fun could be great.
