I hereby request individual level vids. I will watch it as a whole when it's done as well.

Cool run. Do you want me to make a vid? It might be more fun though if everyone hasn't seen the run before it's submitted?
You might want to decide that before watching it yourself, lol. breaking your own ideas. :)

is talking to the bobomb required for speed, or will doing it before the trick make mario late for the platform? (or does it not matter? I'm not sure if the platform keeps moving during talk)

Assuming it's one of the people who think this game is "too long," well, that's your opinion, but the question is "should it be published" not "are you bored by long runs." Grr!
surely they would vote yes to the latter?

just edit the making out scene from another video into the end of the final video for this.

I'm sure every detour could save time.. how about just compare the routes first? the idea of shooting the BA up the catwalk is hilarious.. if you are going to take it, you'll be going down for it. testing never hurts.

Well, why is he not using the Japanese ROM then? Anyway, Wouter, I had the distinct pleasure of watching some outtakes from your DK64 speedrun a couple days ago thanks to Infil. Good show sir, good show ;)
I'm glad you enjoyed it :) I think the rule here is not to use a Japanese ROM unless there's a very good reason? the Body Armor would probably not even save any time, I reckon the TAS could skip going down there anyway so the BA would just be out of the way. also, NTSC is advantaged on most things, but little is known about the Japanese version in retrospect.. it would have to be investigated at least.

that was pretty cool. I don't remember having Mercies in the SNES version though? Does anyone know about the pause trick I found a very long time ago? check it out, ignore the gay layout etc: http://thengamer.com/wouter/snescodes.htm I remember trying many things and having so many more glitches by using that pause trick.. and I remember playing with Sheeva and Liu Kang and somehow I could turn him gold and have all sorts of weird things happen.. I don't remember how I did it nor if I taped anything since it's been many ages ago, but I think you might want to look into this.

I was trying to TAS this one too, but due to desyncs I gave up, you did a great job Yes vote for you.
you should at least watching the entire movie before voting... this is simply a question to be fair toward other submission. Anyway, actually I manage to make it synch(was blocked at the wall too) by unchecking right/left|up/down... closing snes, then start it again and checking right/left|up/down, if that may help. The run was good, well performed.
As I said "it desynced when I was TASing it", the Ferret Warlord's movie is fine, as long as you play it once, and I only vote for movies that I watch, sorry if it's not so clear in my other post, my English is not so good.
actually your English isn't that bad compared to his.. he just read yours wrong (your sentence actually meant what you wanted it to mean), because he's quite possibly worse at English than you.

maybe my eyes are deceiving me (headache), or that language works different, but it seems like you have a duplicate if-statement in your code. where you set radam to 90 and the else if sets it to 270 but it's the same if-statement so that is unreachable code? looking at the same bit where you set radac, I suppose the < should be > in the first if-statement.

it makes the parts - that don't have action anyway - faster.

eh, I don't think PD does either, but the timer just ends later than it actually stops updating it onscreen. unless you've actually confirmed with TAS that you've had high decimals (as found by the timer address) rounding up.

a 00 run would certainly include them. and yes, the door just before the very fast opening door with the 3 guards in the hall, needs the keycard.
