I do not associate with, or support, liars. I'm just not an immature ass and I give people the benefit of the doubt. Something you are clearly incapable of doing, for some reason. The way I see it you, and the rest of The Elite, should get off your high horse and just go try some new things. The great thing about world record times is you have to try new things to beat them. For a while people thought the Poster Duty best possible time was around 55 seconds... a friend and myself found a way to improve it by 15 seconds. I honestly do not see why there is a big deal about this. Sure, it's a competitive sport... but when a person in track beats a world record, or a personal best, you don't get a mob of people going "well, unless you can tell us how he ran faster than us I'm just gonna call him a big fat steroids abusing liar! So there!" Grow up.

I was part of the-elite. I left because of all the high strung people there and I do not like being associated with them any longer. I believe what people tell me when they have proof and I either do not care, or do not press a point, when they can not prove their claims. There's no reason to act rude to a person who claims a better time. The least you could do is TRY NEW THINGS and see if getting a better time is possible. I'm sure I could annoy at least one or two of you with my claims of a World Record time (it was last I knew anyway... I haven't kept up in KH2 affairs in a long while) in a minigame in Kingdom Hearts 2. I have a time of 00'40"43 as Roxas in Poster Duty... and I have NO WAY to prove my claims. Things like that happen. The best thing to do is just ask a few questions and not call him a liar and demand proof. He told you enough and, assuming he isn't a liar, then that should be enough. I was informed by a guy who has a time of 00'38 something. I never got an answer from him on how to do that, but it's a goal I strive for. Just like 50 should now be your goal over at The Elite.

Take it somewhere else then. It's not constructive at all and you are just being an immature ass. He claims 50 seconds and admits he can't prove it. What info he has given you you claim isn't enough. Fine. He can't persuade you any more without proof he doesnt have. Drop it. He can't prove it; so the current record stands. Simple as that.

The lookdown method is akin to turning off your TV or monitor and just listening to the run, to me. I used the method, and I respect it, but these videos are supposed to be entertaining. Camera work is very important in a movie, which is, in a loose sense, what these are, and it's just not entertainment to see the floor blur by. Imagine watching a movie like Lord of the Rings and for no reason at all the camera focuses on a single Orc... just some random Orc. He's not even at the battle. He's just somewhere. Then, bam, the camera shows Frodo stabbing an Orc... then back to the random Orc. How many people do you think would enjoy that? It's the same thing. Speed vs. Entertainment. They might have gotten the movie out faster, but now it sucks. They didn't have to do anything complex, or entertaining, they cheated the crowds.

I am enjoying the run so far... but I really do not approve of looking at the floor so much. Usually I'm all for doing things as fast as possible, but not in this case. It really takes too much away from the movie. The viewer gets no sense of what is about to happen and then bam, there's like a 1 second look up, 1 shot, an Ugh, and then you look back at the floor. Goldeneye is easily one of my favorite N64 games, and I was even part of The Elite for awhile... and I just can't stand seeing things played out like that. If the quality of the movie continues as is, I'd probably vote Yes, as I respect the amount of work this takes to make; but I really do not consider this publish worthy due to not being entertaining. It's one thing to reduce lag, it's another to eliminate 90% of the games visuals.

I suppose I can check this avi of yours out. I don't know much about that series... but, meh, why not? *watches it* Hmm, that was pretty cool. I might have to check that game out and perhaps follow your progress through the game.

It's an interesting idea for a hack. I don't know how good it would be for a TAS. The hack doesn't really stand out that much, in my opinion, and probably shouldn't be hosted on this site. Still, I always enjoy seeing a TAS of a game and I wouldn't mind a technical demo.

Wow. Headed back that far, eh? I just hope this setback doesn't burn you out. Good luck, Halamantariel.

I actually was just semi-bored and decided to make your avatar in photoshop. There's some minor change to it... but overall I think I did a decent job on it. I beefed up the size of the text a little, and left the black line surrounding the helmet, to be consistant with the inner black lines. You are welcome to use the image should you like.

Yeah, pretty sure it's just a test run. As long as the theory is sound that we can make it in the final run; I see no reason to not just wait it out in the test run.

Sorry to hear that boss is still a bitch... oh well. We have a lot of skilled people here than can rip apart the game and figure out every little bit of code. I'm sure the answer will come swiftly. I'll see what I can manage to figure out but action games aren't really my strong point when it comes to manipulation.

I seriously do not expect Jeff to lose time in the long run. His bottle rockets can do wonders to many bosses in the game and, by the looks of it, we can probably avoid all random battles. Take the Circus Tent for example: If he can not be one-hit-knocked-out by the rest of the team Jeff can OHKO him with his Big Bottle Rocket regardless of his level. Still, until we have a person test running this it's hard to say what will or won't save time. Personally I think Jeff should remain alive. Not just because the red sucks but also because he is a powerhouse if the boss in question can not be killed instantly. Also, if Jeff can be used to take even 2 or 3 bosses down I think it would save on time as opposed to him defending or whatnot on every other boss in the game. Reviving takes too long and isn't really an option for the most part. Personally I think Poo will be the weakest link in this situation... he always kinda held me back in my lowest level run, actually.

Now that we know we can (theoretically) summon monsters to us with ease some degree of leveling should be considered. The Sword of Kings grants Poo 30 more attack power and the ability to never miss (hey, that might be helpful) if I remember correctly. I don't know how far PSI can take us... unless bosses can be instantly killed by them... I think it was Flash that did the instant K.O. wasn't it? Even then, I'd be surprised if bosses could be killed by it. Hell, for that matter, I'm still not buying into all the bosses being able to be put to sleep. I've done a lowest level challenge of Earthbound and I couldn't get most bosses to sleep. I easily got all of Onetts bosses to sleep but after that point, they just seemed to be immune. There are some very fast leveling spots in the game that I'm sure could be exploited. The worms that reside in both deserts. Find a spawn zone and green swirl win the battle (pretty sure in the worms case that's always an instant kill) a few times. Considering we wouldn't really have to go out of our way to find a worm in either desert they would undoubtedly save time... I'm still on the fence about every other enemy though. Poo's sword isn't just rare, it's powerful, so a Starman Super might have to be spanked. Guess it all depends on how strong our PSI really is... and can a short spurt of leveling make our SMAAASH! attacks more worthwhile time wise? So many things to test and consider... ha ha... still the main reason I don't want to undertake this TAS.

I'd watch it, for sure... if only to get my SRAM back so I can play as Riku again. ^_^ Still, it's a fun game, even if I generally dislike card games (aside from Magic The Gathering), and it certainly would be a one-of-a-kind run as far as I know. I'm rather opinionated though... having about 1000 hours into KH1 and 500 in KH2... only about 20 in KHCoM.

Yay! This makes me sooo very happy. I really hope the RNG for this game is busted and that a great TAS of it actually happens. I am so sounding like an Earthbound TAS token fanboy... hell, who am I kidding? I am..

Yeah, linking to ROMs is a bad thing. It brings heat down on this site if they allow it. I'm sure everyone here wouldn't want that. If you REALLY need a ROM go ahead and ask. You might get a private message from someone. But you should, at first, check Google. But, under no circumstances, should anyone here post a link to a ROM. It's against this sites ToS for one... and it's just plain stupid to do.

Well, the file worked fine for me. Saw the whole run and it was very entertaining. I think that it would be better to see a full run of this game that collects all the cheats, however. ^_^ That's always what I shot for when I played it. A nonstop run, trying to never die, that collects all cheats. The trains Silver PP7 stopped me cold many times. *curses the trains name*

I'd like to hear some ideas on the optimal path, and what items are worthy to buy. Armor is valuable considering it isn't really possible to avoid damage. Gaining levels too early will likely waste time, considering the rare worm thingies in the deserts. I don't have it in me to TAS a game, I know that now. I tried to TAS this game awhile back (about 4 months ago) but quickly lost interest in it. However, I have commented on this game a lot (read back a few pages). So there isn't much more I feel I can say until I hear more input from others. Does SDA have a page about this game?

I assume you meant the hp values. Well, that's 97A75343 in hex... so it's theoretically possible for the game to allow you to have that much hp via codebreaker (etc) although if I had to guess; it seems more likely to be a photoshop. I really wouldn't expect the game to have that much of the data devoted to your hp when it could never reach that high anyway. It would seem like 65535 would be the cap without seriously screwing things up by doing a hex edit and inserting new data... but I've never done that so I do not know how possible it would be. I know my hex editor can insert new lines of data; but it seems like that would mess with the games routines. Just my 2 cents anyway...

I hope somebody's going to regularly make an AVI, Mupen doesn't really work for me :(
Same here... although I planned to make my own avi just for personal use if nobody did make an avi of each wip. I'm kinda against using up bandwidth to transfer something as large as a TAS of this game so don't expect me to upload it, sorry. My pc is as old as dirt... but if i make an avi of the tas and watch it later it runs perfect. Just as fast and as smooth as an n64. You might consider doing the same if you allow your pc to idle very often and there isn't an avi of the wip you want to see.
