And how long did the setup on that take? How did they even get the bullies way over there!? O.o

I think using the Glitch/Exploit, should be done. There should not be a separate branch for 105% non-glitched/Exploit. The time saved from having ALL the power ups is worth the wait, if you ask me. Especially the Speed Shoes.
Exactly. Two minutes of wait at the start to save heck knows how many minutes over the course of 30+ levels... it's worth it.

I'm 105% in support of a 105% run exploiting the demo glitch to start the game with all the powers. :)

The point being made is that from a clean start, you don't get the Fruit Bazooka until after World 4; you don't get the Crash Dash until after World 5. If it is possible for a TAS to achieve Platinum Relics on levels in the first playthrough, that would be preferable to delaying the time trials until after Cortex is defeated, even if the Platinum time achieved isn't "world record/best." :)

Didn't the World of Goo TAS use the Wiimote? (I'm sorry for not being knowledgeable on this topic, but I want to move the discussion towards clarity!)

I agree. :) I wasn't trying to take sides; I was trying to articulate both viewpoints. I personally have no preference one way or the other--I'm simply happy the TAS is in development.

It's a tradeoff for entertainment purposes. On one hand, you get the kick-ass "fastest time" TAS, but large swaths of it are a black screen. "What's going on?" the public asks. "Well, the character has moved out of bounds and is currently navigating beneath level geometry," is the answer. On the other hand, you have the "hacked" version in which the viewer can see exactly what is going on behind the blackened screen--Link is swimming/running/hopping around beneath the level geometry. "But this is a hack! It's not a true console-accurate TAS!" the purists exclaim. There is no winning argument.

Plus, in order to get the Platinum times on most levels, you need the Crash Dash, which isn't obtainable until after you clear Cortex. If your goal is to "only" get Gold Relics, is that possible without the Crash Dash?

If you didn't spot it on the main page, and you didn't find it in the thread, chances are the answer is "No." Sorry!

The only thing I can think is that, in the dynamic camera view, we get very close to Sonic and likely don't have to render as much of the surrounding scenery. This probably results in the game processing things faster, for some reason? Similar to how in Mario 64, underwater swimming changes camera angles to show as little of the surrounding scenery as possible, to maximize speed.

But what we're getting at, I think, is that if this run were performed on a console, the moment Link disappeared beneath the house, the screen would be completely black and all we'd have to gauge progress is sound, until the transition to FoF was made. Is that accurate?

In most of the events, you blasted the World Record pretty well, but Archery seemed pretty lackluster. You got 600 points for a bullseye on your very first shot, but then no other shot was higher than 400. What gives?

Woo! Hang Low looks really good now! :) Great job so far!! I was cracking up at how quick you're tearing through these. I like the way you wave the cursor around frantically and trace backgrounds during downtimes--sort of reminds me of the playarounds between rounds of Bubble Bobble, or during the Sonic TASes after you cross the goal line. Keep it up!

When you're tossing the white goos up, can you drag them off to the side of the level and toss them diagonally toward the pipe? That might be overall faster than the multiple scroll-drags... That said, looks real nice so far! Looking forward to the later levels. :)

Me too! The question is how to do the secret level - do you rush for the fuse or take the "real" exit?
I vote "real' exit. If you're going to take the time to visit the secret level legitimately (from the Gravitational Damping Hub) you might as well play through the whole thing proper. Alternate suggestion: Play through the whole "climb both halves of the level" process, but then break the fuse instead of taking the exit door!

After some testing I really doubt it is possible without god mode.
This is correct. With God Mode, as long as you have the Pogo active, holding the Jump button floats you into the air. Interestingly enough, it's often faster to do a Pogo jump than a standard Jump. :)

Playaround or no, you should have been boosting whenever possible. That was totally sub-par racing, and you know it! :P

If I recall correctly, many of the forms are only unlockable by choosing to spawn into them after mating. A 100% run would have to clear the game multiple times, making sure to choose the correct forms to quickchange into. That said, I have fond memories of 100%ing this game back in 2003 or 2004. :) I'd love to see a TAS of it!
