SC 1 - This trick *might* be faster than pushing the block (~12"), but it requires a stored ground jump, so I don't know. Time it out and see.
No no no. You can do it easily without a ground jump, check Acryte's and Kazooie's vids.

Good job, GuanoBowl. Everything was perfect, besides one thing: the block section in forest. Didn't anyone tell you that you can use the ground jump to get ontop of those blocks, saving a lot of time? Also, you should use the so called "soft block pushing/pulling" when pushing or pulling a block (or armos).

I tried fighting the Dead Hand four times on emulator and each time I finished it in three cycles. I don't see how anything under that is possible with any weapon except BGS.
I remember seeing a vieo fo it on YouTube. I don't remeber who made it though. It might've been just a fluke.

I viewed it on a computer that always causes desyncs for me and it worked perfecly, lol. Comments: -Why did you crouch stab 2-3 times at the gravestone? 1 should be enough. Nothing major though. -Shadow early was beatiful, loved the thrown bomb. -You can use a stored ground jump to skip any ground triggered text box... not sure if it applies to all texts in shadow, but I'm pretty sure it works on some. -I think there is a video of someone beating the hover boots monster in one (maybe it was two) cycle(s). -Great movement though the temple, very fun to watch. ;) -I really liked your "big skull room", but isn't it a waste of bombs to do that? -Your master hand battle could be faster, just kill the big hand with a jumpslash, then kill all three small hands with a quick spin. -Good job on Bongo Bongo, I'm glad you used the crouch stab only tactic. Overall, almost perfect, your movement is especcially good. This is already star material. :)

Well, you can keep him down with just properly timed crouch stabs and it shouldn't be too hard in a TAS, and it's also faster (of course you jumpslash him first). I suggest using frame advance to time the crouch stabs, unless you're already using it.
Are you sure that crouch stabs keep him down? If it doesn't work, you would probably have to alternate crouch stabs and spin attacks, but then your "stored" jumpslash goes away. Hey, at least it would look cool.
TSA said it works with any kind of slash, it's just easier to do on a console by using quickspins.

Cool. Will you post a WIP when you're done with shadow?

Great Jesus. Crouch stab in front of an object you can "check", like the tombstone. then in the middle of a crouch stab, press A to "check". This should be easy on a emulator. You know you get it when your sword has a white glow.

Does he use the sword glitch to reach that corridor on the right with the switch that opens the gate on the left, and then use it in the room with the moving traps to reach the bomb bag area without having to go around?

Plus Acryte has said he has skipped King Zora with 6 bombs and the flying trick.
I think getting 6 bombs before Zora would take more time than watching his ass move.
Acryte has found a way to get to the bombbag early using bombchus, so the bombag is definately worth getting in a speedrun as well as a TAS. @ Dacicus: The sword only damages enemies if it touches them.

Acryte has just confirmed that it is possible to skip the bean with the new "flying" trick.

Apparently, you can't do this trick with bombs in OOT, which is a major bummer. The shield doesn't block the damage, or something. However, this trick will work with enemies, since they repel the shield, allowing you to backflip, sidehop. So hopefully we can use the poe to our advantaged. Now the the only question is, how/where do you peform the endless sword glitch? Ideally, you should peform it on the fence, so you don't need to backflip as much. But to perform it, we need something that signals text. A poe spirit does this, but after it disappears, how do we boost ourselves? Unless you lure 2 poes... Damn, it's going to be tough, and maybe slow.
You can do the sword glitch by using the sign at the entreance to the graveyard, or the large gravestone.

AKA hasn't been around for a while, not here nor at SDA. Wonder where he is...

Is there a video of someone actually doing the poe boost? It doesn't seem possible...
Nope, the only one who claims to have done it is AKA and he said that he wouldn't even try to make a video of it because it is too hard. :(

Stupid question: Can you store a groundjump instead of using the poe to get you to the ledge before you do shadow early? You can skip the forest maze by doing this, right? So why can't we do this here? Is the height too much? Store the ground jump why on the fence, and then jump from the fence?
It's waaay to low. ;)

To do the superslide, I'm pretty sure you have to press a to "grab" the bomb somewhere along the line... I'm not sure though, since I've never tested it myself.

49 seconds eh? I think TSA has a record of 37 seconds and that's on a console. Not sure though.

I have discovered a way to pull blocks and other stuff faster, this would've been useful in child spirit. Maybe it will be used in a future run.

If you can do the seamwalk + leap of faith very fast, it might save time over the rainbow bridge cutscene.

You said it was easy as pie, so I assumed... Bah, I'll read it again... Edit: I see now that you meant the gap in shadow... how stupid of me.

AKA has verified that this trick can be used to enter Ganon's Castle without activating the rainbow bridge.

What is the NES record for most re-records? Also, is there a need for a shield as an adult? Or does the shield need to be part of something later on?
You need the shield for Shadow Early, and it will also save time to get it because then you can use crouch stabs.

It's pure luck that's required to pull it of. Just stick with jumpslash. ;)
