I found a faster method of the backdash-run: Normally you have to turn around; but just with making an attack you havn't to turn backwards. I tested it, and it's faster. I'll soon post my new run (when I have defeated creaking skull). Edit: I've left the boss room 111 frames faster than Atma did! ->Download<- Note: I changed the name of this thread.

So should I make a new one? In this case I should find and use some new tactics. I maybe know some changes: -Get skeleton knight soul to beat manitcore faster (but I think it doesn't save time) -Get lightning doll soul (i can't decide whether I should use it) -Get lubicant soul (if rotten beaf is allowed) So I have to plan it more carefully. Question of entertaiment: Should I make some attacks before getting grave keeper to make it less boring? Then... can I hope for some help? :)

Now, time for the criticism. :) 1. After taking Gravekeeper soul, you move not in the fastest way. 2. Somewhere around frame 28000, I think it would be more advisable to jump on a platform (instead of swimming under it) at the first frame possible, take a boost there and only then proceed into the next room. 3. You waste a lot of frames killing the second werewolf around frame 31500, as you won't gain a new level before Death, anyway.
1. I didn't know that... cool! 2. I don't think it costs time. 3. You're right. I know some other mistakes I made (i.e. using spear against arachne after beating great armor), but I think it's still ok. Or so I hope :)

I never thought this game has so many glitches. Going through walls, sprite bugs, get sword without touching it, use hook shoot diagonally, put bombs in place you aren't... It's exciting, entertaining and it does the unexpected.

I've edited everything in my previous post. But is ist allowed to use a rotten beaf in a no-damage-run? It reduces my HP and then I could use the Lubicant soul to beat the last three bosses faster.

Here is my run. It stops at frame 41155, and it's 827 frames faster than Atma's run. Edit: Here is the run on DeHackEd's site. Edit: I've made a huge list with all places where I saved/lost time. I could post it, too. The changes came from more precise control, but I also saved much time with killing some enemies differently (see the room before the Chapel or the Death fight).

A all-soul run? This would be quite interesting but it would cost much time to make it... I try to improve Atma's run, and I'm at about 9:50 in the Clock Tower and saved already 461, but it took me about 10 days >.> So you have to gain the soul from each enemy you meet, then you must collect the others with Black Panther (if you aim for the best ending). The advantage of this run would be that you can use the chaos ring for beating chaos :) But good luck ^^

Sorry for the double post, but should I get the Lightning Doll soul for fighting death? I made some calculations, but I'm not sure. At the moment I'm in the Floating Garden and I'm 337 frames faster than Atma.

Thanks a lot! Again a question: how can I calculate the damage I cause when hitting an enemy?

Ok, that's right. The boss fights would be boring. I think I'll follow Graveworm's idea and try to improve the old run from Atma, i've already some ideas how to do this. Has anybody a list with HP of the bosses and enemies? Would be very useful.

Yes, but you may kill only few enemies. So you have to beat the bosses with a low level. Btw, i've already started the run.

How about a damageless pacifist-run? It would be quite interesting to watch a run in which Soma only damage and kill enemies when absolutely necessary or the enemy can't be avoided without taking damage (for example the axe armor before you meet the first boss). Of course, you cannot level-up your character and collect, so the boss-fights will take longer than usual...

I know that site, quite funny really =). But this TAS (Yes there is one in progress) won't use any Screep Warps, so all of those tricks are quite useless.
Ok, but i thought, it would be fine to post it here :) Which emulator is used for this run?

I havn't read the whole thread, i hope this link isn't posted already: http://kontek.net/davidwonn/gameboy.html#L There are many, many tricks and glitches for this game, like: get all instruments swordless, get the lv0 or lv3 shield, get into the random glitchworld, let bosses or other speak glitchy things, and so on. Edit: Is a TAS-Run of Links Awakening in process?
