I've played this game a lot, believe it or not. The only trick I'm aware of which isn't used is to push the boat to the left, when one player arrives significantly before the other. The only stage where this looks like it could be applicable is stage 6. But there isn't too much downtime before the second player arrives, and the boat moves slowly, so it might not save any time in the end. Usually I use the car boosts in the upslopes, where they feel like they contribute more than using them on flat ground. But I assume you tested this.
Hello! Thank you for commenting! Yeah, I tested the boat thing, didn't seem all too useful and never managed to save time with it. As with the boosting, maximizing overall speed is more important than climbing up certain slopes quicker, so getting maximum speed on flat ground and then carrying it onto slopes and whatnot ends up being faster in the end. And there's also the fact that you can flip the car if the slope ends too suddenly and that can lead you to losing all of that speed. So yeah thanks for your feedback! I still think there's some stuff related to the boats that can be improved but moving them is certainly not one of them. Cheers!

Sure, you can trim the input and upload it to UserFiles.
Just did, it's over here: https://tasvideos.org/UserFiles/Info/638190687926249138 Do I need to do anything else?

Changing the resolution of the game is not an insignificant change my friend :P Running it at the resolution listed in the submission synced fine for me and I didn't even need to disable audio like suggested. Some of the metadata on the submission seems wrong; the game executable should be .x86_64 not .exe, and v1.1 game version seems wrong? Title screen says 1.0.5. Also the .ltm is lacking an author. Not that any of that boring nitpicky stuff actually matters, just thought I'd throw it out there. Anyway. Pikuniku!! I've never actually played this before but oh boy does it look like a treat. I love multiplayer TASes and this did not disappoint on entertainment. Optimization looks good overall but you definitely need to end your input earlier, there's several seconds of nothing at the end and there doesn't seem to be any benefit to pressing return on the congratulatory screen since the game apparently just loops instead of playing credits? I'd personally also suggest trying to let the second player jump into their spot on the ship at the end to end input a little earlier even but I think per site rules you can also try to minimize RTA time so it's your choice :P Rest of the movie looked good, I thought maybe you could position the yellow player's legs in such a way that they could kick off the wall at 1:16 in the encode to be a little faster (could be wrong, I've never played), but I don't think I saw anything else major. Yes vote!
Hello! Thank you for your feedback, I really appreciate it! Regarding the settings question, I actually suggested enabling audio; unchecking all the audio settings helped with desyncs in my testing so when making the movie i left them all unchecked. And also you're right, I put the exec wrong, I got carried away by playing on Windows all the time! T_T P. S.: Yeah I realized I ended the movie late, wayyy too late. Should I change it and modify the submission?
