I did read the forums, but I was wondering, if you are able to move away, can you also attack at a distance ? And would that means you could go past the range, and attack an enemy of your choice ? Or does it only allow you to move one square further.

I think that run that were made in 2007 even if they are obsolete should count as a TAS made. Also, you can use the API that Bisqwit created to list the movies. Else you can maybe ask bisqwit to do it, I don't think it's a hard SQL Queries against the database.

Someone should wrote how to calculate the number of frame, and if it can be verified with ram watch or something (if possible) Like the calculation start when you press Start and finish when you touch the star.

Doesn't seems to be buffering, and I let it go for a two minutes.

It must be in a single file, without any savestate. So you can't save, and then reset. There's no way for the moment when you can record a reset. And when you will be playing back the movie, the emulator won't reset the movie, and it won't work.

Yeah you are right :P and unless you can make the change on the current code, it would have to be reimplemented with each new version. And I agree with you that the website is slow. We should start a financing campaign to buy a new internet connection to the website :P But I still think that it would be nice to play with it, unless the recording is a pain just like in Mupen. But there's no "rush" to do it.

hum well you have a good point, but let's say that this way, if we start now to implement rerecording, it would be easier for taser to start tasing, even before the movie are accepted. That way, it would make TAS of this console of greater quality, and people could experience tricks and route planning. I think it could generate more traffic to the site, and that would be the first "next-gen" console to be emulated on the site. It would also allow people to develop tools to tas easier, I think it would be better that way, you have no choice if you want to TAS and not use the mouse too often (to emulate the stylus). There would be a need for a tool like the TAS input plug in of Mupen.

I think that the game is super hard on the hardest difficulty, it could make a good TAS on the hardest difficulty, I wonder how someone would be able to achieve this run without being killed. Maybe someone could make a WIP of the first level on the hardest difficulty, and show Flygon how you do it so he could learn how to TAS. That could be a good idea ;)

I find it pretty entertaining, I like to watch SMW run, and this one was different from the ones that are published, I really enjoyed the run. More than the SMB3 that I find a little long and without a lot of neat trick that keeps the game fast pace.

Could someone provide an AVI of this run ? It would be nice if the submitter knows how to create an AVI to provide a link when it is submitted (that way more people could watch it instead of waiting for the published movie to come out)

It seems that it's not only the internet connection, but on my laptop, even when the movie buffer is full (i downloaded the entire movie by pressing pause and I let the buffer get to the end) it is choppy. I think that's a bug in firefox, because it shows the process running at 99 when the movie is playing.

Mupen is the N64 emulator. I think that controlling the version of the emulator would be just right, like a value in the movie file that tells the current version. It would be easier to parse correctly the movie, and to tell that a movie is not compatible with the emulator. That way, if something cause the movie to desync, it would be easy to tell if it's a bad movie version.

Sorry, but I didn't find it entertaining at all. I played the version on the Nintendo DS, it was fun, and it might be a great TAS but then again, this one is just a slow version of a Mario game. I didn't find it entertaning, but it seems to be well made. Meh...

Comicalflop, you should add google to the list of uploading site since you can create a webpage, and upload the files there. You have 100megs which is enough for most small files :P

That would fall in the concept / demo category, but it would be amusing to watch it. how told that you'd have to published it in the first place ?

Maybe because the author choose a too common name like psx for the emulator name.
