Here's some new image. I did the CharacterDisplay However, I'll have a lot of painful fun rewriting all the attack scene, because the way I did isn't very flexible, and now that I want to start magic and stuff. I need to find a new way of doing it. I guess it will take a while before I can post another significant update.

I'll try FRAPS, for the demo, sure as soon as I have more features in the battle, I'll release something. It's just that right now, there's not much done. Well a lot is done, but there's still a lot to be done :P I'll add the character display soon, and then I guess I will have to add either the classes system, or the magic with the range and type of target area. I'm pretty I'll curse a lot with the range :P Here's a little video, finally Flygon told me to use Camstudio and it works pretty well. Link to video

Here's some other progress. I got the text working on the menu, and I added the border around the text. http://img218.imageshack.us/img218/5336/textmenu.png http://img219.imageshack.us/img219/4408/text2f.png I guess it's looking better and better. I'll see what new features I'll add next.

Well the goal is to be able to build an entirely new story and graphics into a Shining Force 2 engine that will look the same as the game. There's already a community on ShiningForceCentral forums that built a story and some new graphics. It should be possible to edit the engine and make several games out of it. For the moment, I'm doing this for fun, and I'm learning game programming at the same time. I'll post update as often as possible with the changes I made and everything. Anyone knows a good way to capture the screen that is fast ? Camtasia isn't very good, neither is camstudio. Thanks for your comments ! It sure is motivating ! :)

Hi everyone, here's a video about a Shining Force 2 engine I'm currently building. I use C# with XNA for this project. I got the battle map, the attack part, along with cursor, target selection and stuff like that. If you find it interresting, don't be shy to comment on this. Hum pretty trust worthy. It is supposed by IBM and they use the software made by the university of Berkley. There's a big forum supporting the software. It's the same thing as Folding@Home that is on the PS3 (and that you can download for your computer). Every project needs to open the result to everyone. So it is not run for private company. At least, if it's for a private company, the result must be made public as it is the goal of the project. It's been about 4 years since I have installed this on various machine. And they won't steal any information. All they do is use spare CPU cycle to do calculation about it. It won't cause anything harzadous, never had a problem with virus or something, and I'm sure it's a great project. But you can still install Folding@Home if you are not sure. Here's the link for Folding@Home http://folding.stanford.edu/ The software used in this list a couple of other project, including the WorldCommunityGrid. And here's a podcast on the website of IBM that you can listen to if you want more information. Or I'll try to answer them as best as I can. http://www.ibm.com/podcasts/howitworks/021307/index.shtml

A small feature request, in the movie page. On the Watch on youtube link. Can you open the link in a new window ? I guess it's a standard to open a new tab when a link goes outside the site.

Bumping a 3 years old thread. Just to see if other people still have interrest in this. I guess it's a great software for research. I guess I can take a couple of minutes of my time in hospital to tell you that research really do a difference. So I invite you to join the project and download the application. Thank you

Which is only a wikipedia standard... Why not put a banner instead of a misleading link ? Doesn't this cause confusion and gather click to a site that pays for each click on the link ? I know it's not a big deal, but I find this mislead to receive a couple of cents for some clicks.

Shouldn't it be a banner then, instead of a direct link from the description. It's like fooling the user into thinking that they are going to see the list of movies about casino games, and they open that page...

Well I'll see when some torrent won't be downloading for at least a week, then I'll make a list. There are also torrents that still use iki.fi and some that don't connect. So the cleaning will be possible when only inactive torrent are left in the seedbox.

I just got a seedbox for Tasvideos That should improve the torrent availability. I will try to maintain this up to date. Once in a while, I'll reupload new torrent. If you can seed what you have for a couple of days, the time that I get every torrents. And we will be able to see the torrents with no seeders and reencode them. Thanks

Hum luck manipulation is only done when the menu is open. It's the only way to manipulate luck.

Some improvements can me made (small one) When you can control Bowie, you can place him near where he had to go. That way, you'll save some cursor movement. Sometimes, you can move him a couple of square up, and the cursor goes that way anyway. For other characters, it's not always worth it because of the cursor movement. I know that in Shining Force 1, it was useful, but in Shining Force 2, you should calculate the character movement speed vs the cursor movement speed. Edit : I wonder if it would be faster sometime to take other characters along the way to allow the team to be full faster ? I guess not as I haven't seen any battle where it could be useful. Edit2 : I don't understand why you remove the weapon of Slade one in a while... I'll see if I can find anything else. Edit 3 : Seems like I can't find any major time saver :P Not that I thought I would found one. :P

For the TAS WIP that we don't see, I think that in the currentform (discussion in one thread) you can pratically only have one run per game. There's no place where you can update the information about your own run. I don't know what would be a better approach. 1- One thread per run in a new section forum. But I guess that the discussion would be scattered all over and we will miss tricks and info. 2- Have a new system for run that can be used by player. Something like a mini website. When you can define the trick you use, the time saver you found, the route that you will use. It's already possible with the Wiki, but to me, wiki is hard to use. I guess something like the post, when you can change the Font and formattating easily. 3- Host the wip on the site. I don't know how much space is needed for this. But why are we still using Dehacked solution for WIP ? It was good, but it might be better to have a place inside TASVideos to support this.
