Playing at full speed, it can be hard to not press both at the same time . . .

Actually if emulation is near perfect, even if it doesn't play fullspeed, it would be TASable ;)

It would be nice to have a pure speed, those video would be hard to argue if they are better or not. Or maybe have a Category (like any%) but now it would be the fastest.

I agree too. If it's relative, then don't permit things under 75% which is still readable by the vast majority of browser. And are color in hexadecimal ? Would it be hard to remove a range of color, which are the alternate background of the post ?

I voted Meh, it was a little annoying, the levels ends too abrutly. You should go for the 100% run.

It could be done by stomping on the enemies it shoot and then pushing them.

Actually, luck manipulation can be like in shining force, pressing different button at different frame can result in have a critical, or a double critical. But there is a catch, to be more effective, you have to go deeper in the game, and read the code behind it to understand what is the exact formula of the action you want. Like pressing a button changes some value in the ram, reading those values and making calculation, you can determine if the enemy will miss and if you will do a critical.

In the last battle of chapter 6, is it possible to get the evil ring with Bleu ? It would save time, I also note that you gain control of Max where you let him, so it would be faster in battle to bring him toward where he's supposed to go. Edit : If we could calculate how much frame is gain of loss with the difference of moving someone toward the battle vs letting it stay there, it could be faster to move everyone each turn. Edit 2 : Could you luck manipulate the wait caused by the NPC that block your way when you return from the first person you talk (I don't remember her name) Edit 3 : In the battle that you have to kill everyone before Ramladu, wouldn,t it be faster to use the evil ring and the halbert to kill the two groups of 4 monsters ?

DarkKobold, in fact, it's not that hard to do a calculation software. It's pretty easy to take every variable in account, the only thing I don't know, it's if you can extract data from Gens to put them somewhere else. If not, then it would have to be hardcoded in the RamWatch.

I have never understood the need for some people to split their archives into a myriad of small files. It wasn't useful 15 years ago, and it's much less useful today (when >100MB files are extremely common). It just doesn't make any sense.
It is useful when transfer resume wasn't possible and Internet connection was slow.

Hum is it for turn manipulation or attack manipulation ? if you can't manipulate attack and such, then it's almost impossible, if you can't manipulate turn, the run will be a little bit longer, but I doubt that it would be that boring to watch. It would look less professional than SF1 but it would be entertaining.

It's pretty hard to compare your run with comicalflop, that's the TASer that takes the more time to improve things. You shouldn't care too much, sure comicalflop will be faster when it's finished, but I won't be this year. So you should go ahead, continue to TAS, even if you are a little slower, you'll surely do a couple of tried and by the end of the game, you'll find that you should redo your entire run because your TASing skill will be greater that at the beginning.

Is it possible to know how faster it could emulate ? It could be an approximation, but just to be sure that a run don't get rejected by being faster but have a greater frame count.

I know that here in Montreal, I can easily get a used computer for about 100$ + 30$ for a used screen so it should be possible to find a really cheap computer.

I don't think that voting no and don't give an explanation isn't really representative . . .

Yeah, a good way to improve your game is to post WIP once in a while, people will get interested in no time, and will find a lot of time saver that you could overlooked. I don't know a lot of big TAS that have been done alone. Even if there's only one person doing the run, a lot of people are behind that guy to guide him and help him. You should really consider trying to TAS this game again, I watch most of the run, and with what I saw, you might be able to pull 5 maybe 10 minutes off the run ;) Don't forget, there's always a bunch of people behind you ;) In any case, I'm looking for another TAS from you ;)
