actually there won't be the keyword tas, but anyway I think that I won't upload it to youtube, it'll encode on copy for myself, and maybe a lot quality one as a reference for ppl that find Mplayer Winamp or Media PLayer to be better than loading the movie. Anyway I'll see the ppl that will be interested. any I encode a copy for me first ;) EDIT : and it's also a test of encoding ;)

Squall I don't know if you care, but I'm recording your run, so I could be able to upload it to youtube, or share it on bittorrent. I hope it will help some people :P

I know it's not the purpose of the site, but I think it would be fun to have a Tas of every game that exist, even if not a lot of person would be watching it. Some viewer might enjoy a game they played a lot when they were child and I think it would be nice anyway.

It would be nice if someone record the input so we could watch how things are going. Even if it's not optimize, it's always fun to watch movie. :) I think I'll try to be able to encode some movie, which would be nice for those that don't want to download the rom and the emulator etc etc etc.

You are not forced to vote Yes, but you have to see the movie before, also, you must explain why you voted no. And I don't think that you should vote no only because and the game shouldn't be like that. Please vote on the run itself and not on the game.

Nop, because there is the equivalent of a ps1 in the ps2, there's only a couple of part that are shared, the rest belong to each system. But I heard that pSX Author's is doing ps2 emulation once in a while. But anyway, so bad he does not release the source code, it would be nice to be able to tas with pSX which is a great emulator.

Well I often saw, auto accept because it's faster. And sometime runs are rejected because they lack of entertaining. There should be a middle, of it aims to be as fast as possible, or it aims to be as entertaining as possible. But the line that separate the two in the same movie is not really traced. And I would also like to see one movie for every game, and not reject those "boring" game, because boring for someone might be fun for someone else.

Well crit seems not to boost a lot the attack, but I didn't find anything, for the moment, I don't have the time to modify the emulator to be able to do trial and error each time. But I'm taking as much information as I can about the fastest team and such.

Well I got some RAM value for Shining Force 2. Maybe someone who have done some luck manipulation with ram value could help. I have 3 value, one random number, one number that count from 0 to 255. And one other number that is random but only when you are about to select Attack. I think that if I find out how to read assembly code because a hundred frame, I might be able to find out what is the condition to make a double-hit.

Well i'll see, anyway I don't have a lot of skill with C++, unless gens is written in another language. But I have enough programming skill to be able to modify it. Anyway I'll give a try, if you would like to send me the code you made for linux, it may be useful to translate part of code.

Yup that would be really easy. I'll take a look too in the code to see if I can modify the emulator to do some testing memory value. It might be possible to do something that would test 10,000 with a frame interval of try+1 each test, and looking for memory address, and outputting result in a file (RAM watch and frame number). That would be easy to find the result you want, like doing the most damage in an rpg. I'll see, if it works well, it would be a great tool for tasing.

Yeah, well I plan on doing some research about this, I might read the assembly code, or maybe I'll modify the emulator to make it do test with the memory value, like testing for 10000 each time the character do a double-hit, and write the memory value. It's easy to see if there's a double with memory value. I just need to find the monster life, then look for two change in the same testing. For a crit it's harder because I don't know if there's a value change for a crit. Anyway l'll look at that. If you have any idea about memory value or something, It would be really apreciated.

Yeah, well I know when the damage change, and it's when you are about to select attack, there's an RNG running only when that menu is open, and this will change how it works, but anyway, if i have to go trial and error, I might try to modify gens to be able to have a frame number to press the button to make a double hit. That would be faster that way.

It would be nice if there was a way to tell gens to not create a srm.

okay, well I found out that it would be easy to just open two emulator (i have to screen) on my run, i make a savestate, I find the frame number for that value, I'm going to the frame before, and then i press A it will be the same.

Well it is useful, depends on how you make it work, I don't know assembly, but I know that when the value equals 53 if I press A and then attack, I do a double-hit, but the RNG change value a couple of time, but always in the same order, so I can pretend that when the value is 53 and I press A, i'll do a double-hit.

It would be nice if you could watch at the memory address and tell gens to freeze when the value is equal to something. i.e. : I'm looking for information about Shining Force 2, and I found out that when a memory address is 53, i will do a double hit. It would be nice to be able to break on that value, and then attack to do a double hit. I hope it is clear enough for you to understand.
