Hum did someone even watch the movie ? No one seems to vote on this. Shouldn't you see the movie before ? I can't watch it now, but if at least there was some no vote before rejecting a submission...

Double post for new information. The noreply is not really better. Could it be possible to set the name of noreply@tasvideos.org to TASVideos. Pretty much like jbloe@something.com would be Joe Bloe ? I think it would be better. Because in gmail, i received an email from noreply. And it doesn't says that it's from TASVideos in the title of the message too.

The run might be more entertaining, but it will be quite different from Shining Force I because the way the RNG works. And I think that the enemy AI is better. And unless there's a boss on the map, you must kill every enemies, you can't enter a town to finish the battle. Also, there will be some damage and probably some casualties because of the way the RNG works. It wont be a no damage run. It will be fun to see what will be the final team. The planning will be different because you will have to kill more enemies, so the force might be bigger. Overall, it will be an awesome TAS, and there's the possibility of having to completely different team in the end depending on the strategy. I can't wait to see this game done. I think I'll replay the game on PS3 this weekend :)

The first stage was boring, but the others were very nice. I have played this game a lot, but it was very entertaining.

I don't think the video of sonic could be published. I found that it's almost like a gameplay video. I would like to see more things broken. I love the unexpected. There was too much fidling around, and without the commentary the video was a no vote from me. The pure entertainment should be a different category, and anything the public wish to see there should go there. We should give it a try, anyway, if it's not a good experience, we can just leave the published movie there, or put them back in concept/demo, and scrap the category. We will never find a good solution without trying.

There is a difference between a freedom fighter and a terrorist. The main target of freedom fighters are (usually invading) enemy troops. The main target of terrorists are innocent civilians who have nothing to do with the military.
Should we classify America's army in freedom fighter or in terrorism ? Because they killed civilians, but fighting terrorism, but they don't attack those who are invading, I just don't know if your definition is good, or not. It depends on the point of view I guess.

It's not like we never saw a lot of Yes on a movie that got rejected.

The only things an admin can says is that a new label will be created for entertaining movies, and that we have to judge these movies according to the awesomeness of the entertainment. And those will be used in case where there's a strong opinion toward a very very great movie. But there shouldn't be a label that says, trade speed for entertainment. It should be read, Pure Entertainment. Anyway you can always do a different listing with these movies. Edit : There's no need for a new category now, but if people are aware that this is possible, and there's a possibility that the run can be published, people will be working hard to make those movies. It's just not worth it for many TASer to try something that takes a couple of month, just to be rejected in 2 days.

Lower standards =/= new sections Just because they're different, doesn't it mean it's worse.
Pretty much what I think too. A new category isn't a lowered standard. It's just a new category. Something that can bring fresh air to the TAS that are produced and that can get a wider audience. I had a hard time showing a movie that really was entertaining to a newcommer. Sure there's some of the stars movies, but beside that, the other movies are great movies, but only for those who really know what a TAS is. Ocarina of time is one exemple, couldn't look the entire movie with a friend, walking backward was just too boring for him. Sure in a technical point of view, it's a great TAS, but it's not that entertaining. The WTF factor is too big when you don't know what happen. (Chrono Trigger would be another example with memory corruption)

If any movie sent is longer than the previous, it is almost automatically rejected. In the current standard of the site, the run can't be accepted. If some admin just want to give it a try. It will be voted, but the question could be changed for that poll. Then maybe we'll see some awesome Super Metroid run. I don't know if I remember correctly, but there was a couple of run on the Super Metroid thread that were pure entertainment, and those where ... entertaining. But if the standard of the site doesn't changes, no one will be able to submit one. Couldn't the question be something like: Is this the most entertaning TAS you've seen for this game ?

It's been a while since there was activity in that thread. I just bought a couple of StarCraft book from amazon. It's very very nice. I never really followed the story but I did know most of the characters. The book that you to a known universe, with an unknown story and I find that pretty nice. I would recommend to any StarCraft fan.

Well there are a couple of games where killing an enemy takes longer that just getting hit and getting through. I think it falls in the boring category.

Well that's pretty much the point. I wouldn't want to split the almost same goals on two different website. A lot of people just want to see some new category on the site. You can even mark then in a different color, or different part of the site. But the forums are what makes the site. This shouldn't be splited.

And me too. I sure want to see some entertaining videos. I'm not even thrilled anymore by some new runs, because it's just plain boring. Ocarina of time, what a great game !... Backward... what a poor entertaining value that just kills the fun. Yeah you can shave 5 minutes or 10 minutes by walking backward. But it's not as fun as seeing what happens in the game. You can count me in, I sure would like some entertaining video.

What would be a good video software to transcode the video from this site to a format an iPod nano would be able to read ?

I think that .cl .seen .microstorage would be nice. I don't like .cards .dice and all the other not very useful functions. But if they are implemented, it could be only by pm.

I just revived my Nintendo DS with a new card. Pretty fun to be able to play some games with Action Replay cheat. I'm more a reader than a player, I liked out I can be very strong, and focus on the story instead of on level up

And the website is kind of slow. It might be related to this update. Because there's a lot of update on the sessions table, it might slow down the website. You should see if you can put a no lock on the update. This might solve the problem.
