I didn't find this much more entertaining than the SDA run. I guess playing a 3d game on an emulator without proper support is why it's so unoptimized. The shooting wasn't too bad, but the driving/route was terrible.
He skips a lot of the known tricks as well.
Could you list them, please? By the way, a moderator should split this topic.

"Back in the day"? That run was accepted for publication a year ago. I watched it recently and it entertained me.

Is anyone up for a race of any of the following games in the near future? - Sonic Advance - Sonic Advance 2 - Sonic Advance 3 - Wario Land 4 - Super Mario Land 2

Several movies are labeled with the "glitched" branch name. As you know, this label is commonly used for movies of games that have more than one movie published on the site, specifically when the author of one them uses all the known useful glitches while the author of another movie forgoes the use of a game-breaking glitch. Labeling the former with a "glitched" implies that the other movie doesn't abuse glitches, which isn't the case in most instances. This is why I propose that the "glitched" branch name be replaced with a "heavily glitched" one. Also, I think that the "low glitch" branch name is too vague and shouldn't be used. As far as I know, only this movie has been labeled with it.

He is asking you to upload the .pjm somewhere to share it with him when you finish the run.

Has a TAS that doesn't beat a game been published before on TASVideos?

There are ways to prevent that from happening, and I am pretty sure that you are aware of them.

Why "XXX, The" instead of "The XXX"? No way to workaround the sorting problem?
I was wondering about that too. In my opinion, using that format is a bad idea. It looks stupid. I know that there are several people who feel the same way, since they seemed to agree with me when this issue was discussed on IRC yesterday.

What's wrong with just watching the youtube encode? Is fast forwarding cutscenes really that important?
I don't think that people trying to get the input file to synchronize do it to avoid cutscenes. Many people like to know how some tricks are exactly done, and the best option to find out is playing the input file using frame advance.

This movie made me smile. Thank you for that, Aqfaq. :P Of course, it shouldn't be published.

o boss de Diamout Dust, Gene Gadge e Panic Puppet não tem como melhorar, está muito no limite mas parece que a versão PC tem a vinheta mais rápida que da versão genesis o que me leva a parecer perder 1 segundo.
For Diamond Dust Zone Act 3, a 0:49 is good enough, so you don't need to improve that time. However, as you can see in one of my videos, you can beat that boss in 0:49 without taking damage, and that looks much better. In your last TAS you took damage all the time. http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=9Mz0DERTfyA For Gene Gadget Zone Act 3, I don't think that SpringGod used the PC version to get his time, so you should be able to get 1:13 following the strategy seen on my video with TAS precision: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=DkNUCA4S9iA For Panic Puppet Zone Act 3, 1:39 is most likely the fastest possible time on the Genesis version of the game, so don't worry if you get 1:39. I look forward to your next run. Boa sorte!

There are many secrets in the game. Those hidden holes in the ground you can climb down are part of regular gameplay. They don't skip anything.
I don't think that he is referring to those hidden holes, but this glitch seen several times in the run.

You should have at least matched Comicalflop's time in the first act. I am pretty sure that your next improvement will be good enough to deserve publication, though.

This TAS is fast-paced, short and features some interesting tricks. Also, it looks optimized, so I think that it should be published.

Thorium was getting quite a lot of attention some years ago and showed really promising results (including lower decay periods) until everything just went silent in 2007...
Hey, not so silent! The number of thorium advocates increases quickly as time passes and hopefully liquid fluoride thorium reactors will be a reality in the near future. Check the media coverage section of this blog and this article to see what I mean. This other article on the subject of thorium is pretty informative. Neclea, did you hang around on #soniccenter in the past?

This movie is awesome! Its quality is on par with that of the game. This game looks hard to TAS, but everything seems optimized in this run, which is a proof of the hard work of the author. Also, the detailed submission text helps to fully enjoy it. Thank you for bringing back memories of this little masterpiece in such an entertaining way, Dooty. :D
