This game looks fun.

http://tasvideos.org/userfiles/info/47182545464506183 I'll upload the video later, i redid solo mickey and inserted the second character at the boss fight, finally beating the first solo mickey run in all areas.
Why not inserting Donald right after Mickey puts on the armor to save frames with both characters from there to the boss? Edit to answer: Oh I see. That makes sense. Thanks for the explanation.

I think "small only, maximum exits" tells us that it aims for as many levels as possible within the criteria of small only.
I really like that approach. I always thought that branch names describing the number of exits, stars, etc. used for TASes that aim for 100% completion were vague for people unfamiliar with the games in question. By that logic, I think that the movies I referred to previoulsy should have their branches updated from "# X" to "maximum X". I am willing to do so myself if there are no objections.

If Crash Bandicoot: Warped (JPN) "item glitch, gate clip" is beaten by a run that uses a few more unique major skip glitches, that'd be an example of what I'm talking about. Just remember how "glitched" label was able to unite indefinite amount of major skip glitches in itself. We need a new version of it. Something like "various glitches", except that sounds crappy.
I don't think that making guidelines or decisions around rare extreme hypothetical cases is sound. I personally like the current approach of listing the individual glitches, since it gives more information.

it would not be very difficult to reduce the IGT further by waiting at the start of each of the RNG levels for some long amount of time to get perfect RNG, but I don't think that would prove very interesting. Hence the time loss on certain stages.
What do you mean by "long amount of time"? I ask because the levels start automatically after about two seconds if you don't press any button, so I assume that manipulating a favorable RNG within one second is realistic. I think aiming for in-game time is important in this game, like in the great majority of Sonic games. There is a reason all the TASes of the Sonic Advance series aim for in-game time.

If the bulk of this TAS is copied directly from Mukki's input, wouldn't it basically make him the main author of this run? If so, I think he deserves to be at least co-authored in the title. The low rerecord count also seems to suggest that minimal work was done to optimise every level.
Yeah, not including Mukki as an author from the start was quite bold, to say it politely.

I have encountered several glitches during my years gaming and speedrunning, but only a couple are useful for runners. Fallout 4 - The Boston Witch Project Fallout 4 - Ashes (vault 81 cat) found on the head of a lethal deathclaw Sonic Advance - Falling to the bottom of the screen... and staying there. I found it more than a decade ago and haven't been able to reproduce it since... Sonic Advance - Several glitches I found on the same act. One of them is a crazy glitched route through the act that speedrunners still use to this day, with minor tweaks. That's probably my biggest speedrunning discovery. Sonic Advance - Pretty cool gravity glitch Sonic Mania - Tails inside a wall Sonic Mania - Sonic inside a moving object Speedy Gonzales: Los Gatos Bandidos - I found a glitch to clip through the floor that makes for a nice shortcut, as described by Ilari here.

Well, thanks to the new loop glitch discovered by kaan, I found some new shortcuts in SPZ2 to save time as you can see in the video. -video- This works for Hyper/Sonic, Tails, Amy and Knuckles; Tested personally. Seeing the amount of new glitches discovered in 2017 maybe I will take care of improving the previous S+T any% the next year; Aglar and Zurggriff I would like to know if you two are interested in this, it would be great.
Great stuff! I look forward to the progress of your ring attack run. You have been doing an outstanding job at it. I just wish you two posted YouTube videos more often to make sharing your awesome easier.

Don’t worry, everyone here already knows that you discovered every single glitch in Sonic games. //Regards WST
Could you please stop flaming other posters over petty things?

Haha, wow. Funny how you appear to be about 10 seconds faster by lap on stormy conditions than the real drivers were on dry asphalt, and around 20 seconds faster on similar weather conditions than the real races. So much for top class drivers, heh. I miss some information on the submission text about the actual process while making this TAS, though... I assume it was heavily scripted. Were some laps verbatim copies of others? How long did each circuit take, roughly? I enjoy that kind of trivia and insight.

Congratulations on finishing this exhilarating TAS after almost ten years in the making! It also helped to prove that Dooty is still alive, which is great news for the TASing community. By the way, you should probably update your forum signature now. ;)

Nice new glitch. However, it's a shame you didn't seize the opportunity to create a proper run that improved the first half of the published movie as well.
How many people do you know who can beat Aglar?
Plenty of people, actually: Kyman, MESHUGGAH, nEilfox, Phil, Pike, SilentSlayers, Tee-N-Tee, Tiancaiwhr and Zephyrz. There are also several WIPs on the forums by other players that beat Aglar's input. This is the important bit for me, anyway:
My main goal was just to implement the new tricks and optimize the results to the best of my ability, without worrying too much about the rest of the run. I'd like to take another stab at this game on the next version of BizHawk, hopefully finding some improvements all throughout.

I have been looking forward to this run for a very long time, and it's much better than I expected. I had a lot of fun playing the two racing levels back in the day, and your TAS made them a treat to watch. I loved your commentary, too. I assume you need to knock that guard at 8:23 or doing so doesn't lose frames. Could you please clarify this? I'm curious.

Anyway, I'm here to post more vbms of the TASes I've done over the past few days: Chaos Angel 1 ring attack (video) Chaos Angel 2 ring attack (video) Toy Kingdom 3 ring attack (video) Ocean Base 2 0:45.60 (video)
Great runs! I loved the last one, but those ring attacks are really enjoyable as well. Are all three done on easy mode? :(
