That's the one part of the glitch I don't understand. The "bad clone" that later becomes ????? #000 acts exactly like Q or Charizard 'M did in R/B/Y. That glitch didn't require the E4, so why should this one?

http://glitchcity.info/docs/celebitrick Could this be used to get powerful Lv100 pokemon early in the game? On Step 11, it says the pokemon generated (in this case, celebi) might be at a very high level.

Due to multiple personal and computer issues, I am cancelling this run. I might come back to it if I have a lot of free time later.

Sorry, but I'm going to have to put this temporarily on hold again (possibly up to 2 weeks). I'm very busy with schoolwork and other stuff. Note to mods: please do not close this thread

Why shouldn't it be accepted? Air was accepted, and this is pretty much a SMW version of Air.

This is a well-known hack of SMW, so would it be allowed if I TASed it? I've already done level 1 and the switch palace: http://dehacked.2y.net/microstorage.php/info/1695656428/Kaizo%20Mario%20World%20%5B%21%5D.smv (emulator used: SNES9x 1.43 v11) Please comment.

Really? Save file corruption needs a hard reset? Doesn't a soft reset also work? Slightly off-topic: How do you spell "doko kashira" in Japanese katakana? (or hiragana or whatever)

Another small update: two more levels, now through level 16. I'm halfway done. Total improvement so far: 3104 frames (51.73 seconds) http://dehacked.2y.net/microstorage.php/info/354612917/2161%20-%20Super%20Mario%20Advance%204%20-%20Super%20Mario%20Bros.%203%20%28U%29%20%28v1.1%29.vbm

Strangely, every time I open SMW (or hacks of it)(and no other ROMs) on snes9x, it creates a very strange pallette glitch that turns parts of the background dark and certain sprites or objects invisible. This glitch makes some levels almost impossible to play. Since I want to TAS a hack of SMW, I can't use my snes9x emulator. Could someone give me a download link to the best version of snes9x out? Apparently my version (I don't know which) doesn't work.

This is a kind of dumb question, but how do you record a movie in ZSNES v1.51? I can't find the "record movie" option anywhere on the menus.

Small update: new WIP of lvls 1-14. Total improvement from previous version is now 2642 frames (about 44.03 sec). http://dehacked.2y.net/microstorage.php/info/1555478112/2161%20-%20Super%20Mario%20Advance%204%20-%20Super%20Mario%20Bros.%203%20%28U%29%20%28v1.1%29.vbm This took a while because I kept messing up on level 13, I had to keep checking its frame count with my previous version to make sure I didn't make any mistakes.

About background input, etc., is there a menu or something in FCEU that enables it? If so, please tell me. Also, how come you must use frame advance when TASing multiple games? Why will the movies desync when just playing at low speed?

How do you play multiple games at once with the same input in FCEU? How was it done for the Megaman 3/4/5/6 quadruple run? Just wondering.

Okay, I've started working on it again, I just finished level 12 and I'm going to post a WIP after I finish level 13 and do my submission text. (I type the text as I do the TAS). That should be done tommorow. Total improvement so far: 2235 frames, that's 37.25 seconds.

I'm going to be busy for the next few days, so I'm temporarily putting this TAS on hold.

No. A+B+start+select is soft reset on GB, GBC, and GBA. (For DS, it's L+R+start+select). EDIT: Bag of Magic Food beat me to it. And this TAS totally blew my mind. I had absolutely no idea that a corrupted save file would cause THIS much glitchiness. But doesn't the game display a "Your save file is corrupted" kind of message? Or is that just for GBA and beyond? Yes vote.

I cancelled my TAS and I'm working on an improved version. Here's a link to levels 1-5. Total improvement done so far is 24 game seconds already. http://dehacked.2y.net/microstorage.php/info/609709882/2161%20-%20Super%20Mario%20Advance%204%20-%20Super%20Mario%20Bros.%203%20%28U%29%20%28v1.1%29.vbm Also, I noticed while doing level 4 that keys don't collect coins either.

Ok, because so many improvements are possible to this TAS, some of which are obvious, I'm cancelling this run. Check the thread "Super Mario Advance 4-e TAS?" in the GBA Games section for updates.

I've already started with an improved version a few days ago, but since I'm kind of busy right now, I've only done 2 1/2 levels. I'm not going to cancel this submission, though.

I do admit that there are many improvements possible to this run. However, if you read my submission comments, when climbing a rope/vine (most notably in level 22) when NOT caped mario, Mario cannot jump off it like in SMW.

Good idea, I'll add that to the "Possible improvements" section.

What do you mean by the bolded part? And does that mean that my Level 5 desyncs and causes me to die during demo replay?
