I hope you're not trying to make a submittable time attack, Nightcom. Our site doesn't accept movies that start with SRAM ---> no new game+, hard mode, julius runs, or boss rush allowed.

This information is pretty obvious. Also, it's already being employed in the current WIP.

Actually, I agree with Julianch. After seeing the latest speedrun of MMX8 on SDA and playing it a bit on my friend's console, I can honestly say that it is a pretty shoddy game. It seems like they spent too much time on graphics and not enough time on details like gameplay or plot. The new Maverick/Robot Masters seem like bad parodies of older bosses. The only ones that seemed cool were Optic Sunflower and Bamboo Pandamonium, but we can all agree that those names/concepts are horrid abominations in the eyes of past characters. Also, I have some qualms with the whole tag team thing that you can do in the boss fights. It's like the developers decided to blatantly steal concepts from MvC and then mix it with some very repetetive movements and a horrid eye raping. I'm not going to get into all of it, though. MMX 1-3 are still the best of the X series. I have played X 1-8 excluding 6 and have found that the series is more or less dragging out a painful end rather than going out in style or keeping a respectable franchise alive.

So no more WIPs? Ah... oh well. Looks good from what I have seen. Then again, what else can we expect from you, Walker?

As someone mentioned in the VBA thread, in order to start recording from an old movie, you need you uncheck Read-Only Mode before you play the movie file.

Buster-only in Mega Man is the equivalent of a knife run in Resident Evil 4; it is possible, but why pass up on the more efficient/entertaining methods?

I never really understood people trying to make timeattacks/speedruns with critereon such as 'use only the basic weapon'. Not only does it slow down the whole movie, but it tends to get boring really really fast. Also, keep in mind that using the buster only would get rid of a lot of the cool glitches.

Looks good to me. The gameplay was definitely more optimised. Yes vote from Zurreco.

Regarding Arc's Metroid movie; Zoizite's maru-only movie is already starred. Can someone explain why it should be changed?
It should be swapped for the same reason that Teri's any% is starred and his low% is not. Playing the game super fast versus playing the game fast but with some constraints is iffy, but I don't think that just tossing in random ciriterion should make one movie better than the true timeattack. edit: i dont know what 'weapped' is...

I don't think Streets of Rage, nor any other beat em up for that matter, is entertaining enough to get a star. They tend to be insanely linear and tend to focus on 1-3 different moves/combos that are most efficient. There isn't a whole lot of variety in the movies, and the only thing that I find really entertaining about them is that you can get through such hard games without taking any/much damage. Otherwise, it just looks like a good speedrun.

Lost Vikings is too long to really be too entertaining. Monopoly is a toss up. Most people wouldn't know what was going on, much less be too impressed with it. The glitched Link to the Past isn't really something that is too entertaining. You have to take it for face value, which isn't all that great.

I thought River City Ransom was being improved, though. Also, I wonder Arc's Metroid was not starred, but I assume that since it is being improved that it doesn't need a star just yet.

When you cast a summon with the DSS cards, you float up a tiny bit. Since no one ever really hangs around the very beggining of the game, I guess the developers didn't check to see a summon's affect in that area. Summoning makes you glitched up to the locked door from the intro. You get lodged in the area above the ceiling, which means there is nothing there to stop you from just waltzing into the new area. After wards, he just uses the same float -> warp glitch to get above dracula's final door. Since the door never really opens, Dracula never begins his attack pattern or conversation.

McBain, no. I would lose my slide speed if I stayed on the stairs.

What is this? A segmented run? Voting NO because not only does this vehemently break the rules of the site, but it is also a very very very bad playthrough as is. You don't even use the backdash or anything. Hell, you dont even have anything close to optimal movements.

Installing FFDShow now makes MPC and VLC crash as soon as I attempt to open the movie file. Actually, it's making every movie file crash. This isn't good... edit: Uninstalling fixed that problem, but I still can not get video feed from the Circle of the Moon glitch movie. Hmm

I also cannot view this .avi due to a codec problem. WMP, MPC, and VLC all fail to render the file or give me error messages.

Nach is alluding to how Castlevania movies tend to discard all extra hearts/jewels before the level is over in order to avoid the tallying time afterwards. If the points at the end of the bonus are tallied out, that takes extra frames. I don't see why he has to be so cryptic about these sorts of things, though. His attempts to give advice end up giving everyone more grief than it is worth.

10 victimes per level, as far as I know, is impossible. There are some victims that are literally placed in deadly situations right at the beggining. I think there is even one victim that was never coded into a level, and is therefore unsaveable. That's just what I remember, though. Stick with fastest completion time for now. That means that you'l' generally be saving every victim, but that doesn't mean that you should spend too much excess time trying to save a baby or something. In the end, though, it is your decisions.
