That's a shame, which browser you using?
Opera 12, on Windows XP 64bit (if that matters) Changed to a screen shot of the problem in my above post in case that helps you understand the problem better.
I get the same problem in the latest version of Chrome (20.0.1) but works in Firefox 13.0.1 Tested on Windows 7 (in case that matters)

Please, stop to argue, people have different preferences about speedruns… As for me, I do not see any problem with «super» runs… Btw, why isn’t Sonikkustar «expert player» anymore? o_O
Sonikkustar is right on the border between Skilled and Expert (2000 points). Points are affected by ratings. Anytime someone rates one of his movies, his points will fluctuate slightly. Given how close he is to 2000 this may happen a lot. As soon as he finished his Streets of Rage 2 TAS, this should cease ;)

I agree this would be a game with TAS potential. I've considered TASing it myself for some years now (but haven't gotten around to it, and no I'm not volunteering :P)

I can assure you that I actively follow every post here. You do not need to worry about them getting buried. If something did not get fixed, it was not out of neglect but simply that it wasn't prioritized, yet.

I think you should submit it. If we are going to have a stale improvable run published for years to come, it should be the better of the two.

Here's the Micro Machines GFX bug image Is this related to the Gradius II bug above?
It probably isn't exactly related. Micro Machines is notorious as probably the hardest game to emulate properly on the NES, it requires pretty much perfect cycle accuracy.

BizHawk 1.0.4 Released! There is a TON of new features, so it is highly recommended that you upgrade. NESHawk now has much better game compatibility, passes many more NES Accuracy Tests than nintendulator or nestopia! Lua now has drawing functions. See the Release notes for a detailed listing of changes.

in my opinion TAStudio still doesn't meet the level of fceux 2.1.5 TASedit let alone 2.1.6 TAS Editor
I don't think you need to qualify that as an opinion. It is undeniably not as good. It is just a start, in time it will be equal or better than TASEdit.
I am actually planning my first transition out of NES exclusivity due to bizhawk and TAStudio though.
That's doubly awesome!

Thanks to Brandon, BizHawk will open .fmv natively. I know you are a TASedit guy so I won't suggest you use bizhawk. But at least it would be a much better emulator to use for comparing than famtasia. And you could convert it to .fm2 from there without too much hassle (find and replace in notepad++ will do the trick) Also, the movie in question is likely to desync quickly in fceux or bizhawk. This page should make it painfully obvious why.

Bizhawk emulation should be significantly better. Not to mention a much better set of tools and UI :)

Are you using the correct emulator? That movie was made with a reset recording version of mupen, not the normal rerecording version

In case you guys haven't seen the news topic (which everyone should have since everyone should be watching that topic for replies ;)) I wanted to let everyone know that we have moved to a new server. This one is considerably faster, as you have probably noticed! I personally very surprised at how well tasvideos is performing. This has been long overdue. I look forward to any feedback about this move you guys may have.

TASVideos will be down for about two hours tomorrow May 29th 2012 from 1PM Eastern to about 3PM. At this time the site will be moved to a new server.

Thx for the quick response. TAStudio shows up as a tool, and parts of it seem to do what I would expect, but it clearly seems like a partial implementation. Once I get the thing to compile I'll have to take a look at the TASEdit implementation AnS did. It would be nice if we could get TAStudio up to basic functionality and then move on to adding features.
Please do! TAStudio is barely alpha quality at this point. I've barely put any time into it. I'm hoping someone will take it on as a project. I'll be glad to help with any questions and insights. I prefer IRC if you want to go to #bizhawk on freenode. But forum communication is fine too (but not as efficient).

Combine them for now, and if we get any significant number of pages for each, we can separate them.

Alaktorn, you are misinterpreting the Rule change about region. The U version is preferred first of all. Second of all, the region differences are NOT a factor in comparing times. There is no "time saved" by using the J ROM as far as the site is concerned. And runs will NOT be rejected by failing to use the faster J ROM. I expect any good judge would disregard a no vote based on this reason.

Entertainment is more important than pure speed. This run left my jaw open, but I can easily see this being the only time I'd really watch this--walk around, set flag, win. I'd hate to see the currently published runs become obsolete by something far less entertaining. Let me put it this way: This glitch is now SO powerful, that the TAS feels LESS glitchy as a result. The run is nothing but a demonstration of the glitch. Not how it can affect the game, not how you can make anything new and unusual happen, just how you can bring up an end sequence prematurely. It's a fantastic concept demonstration, and I did enjoy this, I just...can't personally justify this obsoleting any current runs. I don't really like the idea of giving it another category, the game's representation on the site would become bloated. This run also, however, deserves to be recognized, not allowed to disappear into the night with the 'NO' stamp's usual dismissal. Dilemma.
If you are talking about the currently published 20 minute movie, this will have to obsolete it. It is the same glitch done better. More importantly the currently published movie has been proven invalid! It relied on the fact that saving takes 2 frames, and so reset can happen after one frame and corrupt memory. But it only takes 2 frames because snes9x is inaccurate in its emulation, it should only take 1, thus sub-frame reset would be required to corrupt ram.

All your questions are answered somewhere in this thread (or maybe the bizhawk forum in general), but I will reiterate some Why C#? Because the 3 of us can get far more work done in less time and have a better time doing it. That's our preference. For me, it is the use of the .net framework for the multiclient, that allowed me to put in all the usual tools and make them better in a fraction of the time. Why do this instead of adding tools to existing emulators? Because I've done that. I've added the same tools to 10+ emulators, each one with its own flavor of crusty code, bad UI, bugs, and other things that turn me off to dealing with them. Not to mention politics with the emudevs. Why do that when I can code everything once? Not to mention the advantage of having a unified UI. Why an emulator for TASVideos? It isn't. It is an emulator for everybody. It just so happens I admin tasvideos and have a primary focus of good TASing, so it just so happens bizhawk has the most ideal tools and set up for TASing. Are we using brand new emulation cores? Yes. But the door is open to using other cores, but the MIT license is going to be an issue (I think we could release GPU cores with an MIT client though). But so far we've been preferring new cores, as it is a chance to improve upon existing emulators, and because we prefer to write C#, and other emulators tend to be C++. However, the original concept behind bizhawk was a C#/.NET UI running a c++ emulator core. So the door is open to importing cores. As for MESS, that's alot on the lines of what we are doing, but with an architecture that makes is easy to have rerecording (and other stuff) on every core whereas MESS's structure is not condusive to this. As for a baller emulator with all the best features, and all kinds of cores. That's exactly what this projects goals are! As for portability, its possible, and being worked on right now thanks to sapphire and pcc.

In Contra: Hard Corps, the bosses have increased health in 2-player as well. A shame, 2-player would have been nice. Still a 1-player run of this game is entertaining, and I vote yes on submission.
