Just wondering what everybody's thoughts are on how soon after its release there will be a run of Metroid Prime 2. I'm betting on two weeks for the first ones... Anybody else have thoughts?

I'd say 100% would be getting every item (at least once), every song, and getting every heart container. Though now I mention that, there would have to be a good deal of playing as kid-Link to get all the masks. Personally, I hated playing as kid-Link but for this run I think it might have to be necessary, sadly.

You'd have to get on the horse to do some of the sword quests from what I remember...

I'd love to see whoever does the run wail on the bosses with the biggoron's sword. I always liked that weapon way more than any of the others. It wouldn't even have to be single segment, if you save right when you enter a dungeon you could do a multipart like most of the metroid videos out there... TSA, you'd be my hero if you did this! :D

oh your right, Bladegash. I forgot about that part. I can see how using the directional pad in the 'cube would make it harder for songs. And now that I think more about it, Admiral is right too. You need FP looking to get through the haunted wasteland even without the lens of truth. I retract my earlier statement.

Couldn't we have made this into a poll? So we could click on a few options and figure out roughly the average age? Say with options such as: Younger than 13 13-15 16-17 18-20 21-24 Older than 24 Or some other system of aging? EDIT: I know my numbering system needs work to make the age differences even. I was just using these as examples to make the "legal" ages fit the scheme. Just a thought.

Wow. Go away for a weekend and I come back and this is pretty much underway. Looks like you guys have it all figured out. I should go away more often. Then more things would get done...

I'm on the same page as you are -- the actual DVD that could be played on a TV using a DVD player. Anybody could make a DVD Data disk and just throw in all the .avis but making a real honest to goodness DVD would be pretty interesting I think. Then we could show our friends without the technical know-how about these speed runs. As for the pricing, I couldn't agree more with you. I don't know if you'd be interested but I've got quite a collection of the .avis. If you want to make this a collaborative effort I wouldn't mind joining whoever is making the collection.

if Bisqwit would let you, throw all your completed speed runs on the site. They'd be fun to watch.

You know... this might just be me talking but if you wanted and got everybody to OK it, I bet you could pass this around. Personally, having all these on DVD would be pretty rad. I don't know about the legality of everything or how it would work, but I think it would be pretty bitchin to have a collection available.

I'm just wondering, what games are you trying to record? ...as long as your trying to do DOS games... do you want to do KING'S QUEST (any number) or SPACE QUEST (any number)? Those would be fun to watch, and sadly I can't even play them on my mac....

I dunno, Blublu. Would you really want to watch a DOS movie is excellent quality? I Think that would take away from the whole punishing experiences of DOS in general. ...Spoken by a mac user mind you.

...Ok this post will probably get me banned from this site, but I have a really dumb idea for you to try, IntMurr. If you have a digital camcorder, you could record the movie using the camcorder over your shoulder or something. Then you could firewire that movie of a computer screen showing the game play onto your computer and convert that to .avi or something... The quality would be beyond poor but its an option.

I weep for those of you still on Windows ME. Microsoft was like "Hey, we have a pretty good OS, Win98, let's take out all the working parts and reprogram an entire OS 3 days before the millennium. That way we can say we invented an OS for the millennium!" Oy vey! Let's all have a moment of silence for feitclub and nifboy. Those poor fellows. -Ev PS, yes, fietclub time to get a new machine... only this time get a mac!

Hey everybody. I'm just wondering what OS most people use to make these movies. I know Bisqwit uses linux (which distro btw?)... but what does everybody else use here? I use osX for Mac -- one of the reasons I haven't recorded anything yet, haven't found any software for mac with recording software on it. What about everybody else? What do you use? -Ev
