Got the latest Dolphin build (4.0-1356), FMV cutscenes for Agent Under Fire now display correctly! Game looks excellent. We'll get working on the TAS pretty soon, testing/research is slowing down.

Solarplex is 2:15 faster than the real time run up to the start of the mine dropper stage. Saving a good 5+ seconds on each of the early ring stages in just in lag alone. At this rate I roughly estimate the TAS will save ~40-45 minutes over the 1:53:14 console run after factoring in my 3-4 minutes of mistakes too.

For which Dolphin build, check here. It seems to still apply 2 years later. Also, really liked the Nightfire run, so I hope this gets finished. :)
Thanks. This is a better speedrunning game than Nightfire, so I hope so too!

Bunny Jumping for max speed retaining: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=8LPUc4pMf7o And two new shortcuts: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=Y3mBfu3_IH0 https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=NrQJxx5p3lo I'm thinking that skipping the Jackal with her own grenade is now obsolete though, we'll probably grab grenades off the ground at the start of the level and then bunny hop to the apartment to save time then use our own grenade to skip the Jackal fight.

New developments for this game: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=oDoA1zXmf4I Random surfaces give you a boost in speed when you run along them, and in v1.0 you can boost off of explosions for extra speed/jump height. Planning on doing a TAS with two other guys now. Game has become pretty technical. I'm curious about the advancements with Dolphin since 3.5-367.... are the cutscenes in this game now showing properly? Is the DSP LLE Recompiler sound bug fixed? What version of dolphin would be best to use for this game?

First bomb freezing looked a little slow like your aim was off at the beginning. Compare it to the second bomb, you'll see. Rest looked fine. As you've probably noticed, the end of outdoor enemy stages are triggered when all of the death animations for the enemies have ended. So for the upcoming mine dropper bit you'll want to throw the last mine dropper into the building to make him explode ASAP. Same applies to henchmen, cars, etc coming up. You can also ram two enemies into each other for a double instant kill iirc (fly into an enemy while carrying another), mess around with that. Flying into a wall while carrying an enemy is also an instant kill. Hope to see a lot of play-around on the skateboarder mission where you have to wait forever. Maybe find a way to push him along faster withiout killing him/failing? For Lexcorp you might be able to read the 5 notes at the end while mid-air.

Superbreath is down low, but the bombs are above you right?
From the first room ice breath is slightly low on the other side of the canal ya, and after getting ice breath the first bomb room is back the way you just came but higher up once you pass the water. Do get that visibility fixed xP. PS: You may be able to clip OoB without any kind of setup (ie: fly directly into a corner and pass through). I know it's happened to me a couple times but not often.

Color me impressed Solarplex, great work. For the current level "Dam" the strats don't change much for TAS. Killing the robot that hovers above the ice breath powerup is not required, it just happened in the route video because it's tricky not to grab him. You can OoB from the first bomb room in two different ways: Through the ceiling or through the floor. Ceiling should be faster. Dunno if there's emulator lag but on console ice breath lags the game really bad when you're too close to the thing you're freezing. Since you're making such quick progress here's some info on the next indoor level, Lexcorp: Instead of clipping into the wall as the route video does, fly/run through elevator door. It's totally clippable as most doors in this game are. Then the 5 notes have to be read to end the level. Avoid getting hit by the boss. In upcoming indoor levels there are enemies you HAVE to kill and specific objectives you HAVE to complete, figuring out what's required and what was done for convenience/on accident in the route videos can be tricky so just make sure you get with me about that stuff before you start the level. Should have internet up at home in the next couple of days, maybe we can discuss things over skype.

Sorry i havent been around much, no proper internet in my apartment yet. I did the cop carry mission fast you say? This is prob due to how the car was picked up, when superman picks something up while flying sometimes he gets a boost of speed along the ground. Try grabbing the car at a lower flying height/different angle. Plz do get in touch with me before each indoor stage as i have insight into new/tas strats. My youtube message box is the easiest way to reach me. Havent read much of this thread but i hope you guys figure out the speed flying glitch.

Any indoor non ring level, get oob through any wall. Possibly cut straight through everything haha.. For the metro level, would you soft lock if you just cut straight through everything without following the tunnel?
Going too far OoB gets you stuck.

You can miss 4 rings total in each ring stage if I remember correctly. A large portion of the planning for this TAS would be finding the 4 most out of the way rings to skip in each stage. By flying against objects (grazing buildings in most cases) in just the right way you can gain an immense amount of flying speed. This happened to me only a few times in normal play but the speed is incredible, I actually went so far so quickly I got lost. I have a "speedrun route" video for every indoor stage which are for the most part optimized as far as skipping the most amount of actions possible. There have been a few new strats to do certain things faster though like simply walking through the solid elevator door in Lexcorp instead of clipping into the wall. I actually started a TAS of this game too, but realized the ring stages would take an eternity. FYI in the first action stage you can kill the mother and steal the baby carriage while beating the mission if you time it just right ;). Looks hilarious. There are a lot of play-around oportunities like that to make this otherwise boring game entertaining in TAS. If the speed flying thing was figured out this run would prob take an hour fifteen at most. The RTA run I did is about 4 minutes off from being clean.

Was entertained simply by how fast each match was beaten. It was comical. Pretty good demonstration of how AI can be manipulated in TAS. It's kind of on that edge of vault or no vault...

Looks like a case of someone watching the AVGN video, learning what TAS is, then beating the game deathless for the heck of it. Not optimized.

I do however think that the drawing on the screen in one of the final levels could have been more "007 inspired".
Yeah about the square... first of all that mounted gun only allows for 2 possible diagonal directions, it aims very strangely. I started up drawing boobs, but they looked terrible because of the aiming and then tried drawing a small silenced PPK but it turns out the bullet decal limit is very low for this gun and it started to erase itself as I drew. Got fed up and did a square. The level in total took me ~17 hours because of fretting about running out of health and the time consuming nature of aiming at moving targets while I was also moving. Edit: Oh you meant the computer screen bullet hole fill, I kinda liked that (Gamerfreak did it).
