This makes me want to make an smb glitch compilation video. I know a LOT of glitches... I think I know maybe 70+ smb glitches total. I should definitely do that. If I made a video of a bunch of fm2s, could they all be spliced together into one video?

I am doubting that people will make the warps run faster. But HappyLee, you've been really awesome at this smb TASing lately :). I hope you can manage to improve level 8-4. ... I actually have an idea for improvement oddly. HappyLee, at the third pipe in 8-4, try to jump with Mario and face left. I think Mario would slow down quicker this way. I will try this out tomorrow I think.

EDIT2: To explain this a little better: 1.5 camera units/1 frame walking 0.5 camera units/1 frame moonwalking Traversing the same distance twice walking (0.75 camera units per one frame walking back and forth, if that makes sense) is 1.5 times faster the scrolling the camera by moonwalking (not counting time it takes to turn around.)
If the moonwalk scrolling glitch was done on the pipe right as he got there, Mario would have to travel no distance after that point. He would have to moonwalk in place until the camera scrolled far enough to the right (which would be half the distance traveled while walking normally). If the moonwalk camera scrolling occurs at 2/3s the speed of walking camera scrolling, then moonwalking would take less time correct? A bit confusing, but I think it makes sense. I'd like to test it out. EDIT: I might have this a bit wrong. I'm a bit confused now heh. It would just be easier to test it out.

I'm not so much in it for the competition as I am in the potential of the game. I love to see all of these unexpected improvements. It's a bit strange to me that HappyLee isn't enjoying it. I don't understand why you'd continue if you don't like doing it. I mean This is a rather silly "record" anyhow. I don't have anything against you HappyLee, it's just that I like searching for improvements (esp. on games I know very well). EDIT: I'm actually considering not even looking for improvements now, just because of how upset HappyLee seems to be getting over this. :/

HappyLee, you do realize that this glitch might be the key to improving the warp TAS? Possibly even many more SMB TASes. I feel like this could have some more applications. The setup may be too slow, I'm not sure though. I feel it can be useful elsewhere though.
No, it can't. I said It only can be used here.
Are you sure? It could maybe be used at the end of 1-2. Pirate's idea.

...That post I made in the other thread about the next submission coming tomorrow was TOTALLY wrong. ._. Going to abstain from voting, this time, even though it seems like this is the last one... At least, I kinda hope it is... Still not sure why the frame counts don't match up, though... Does it have to do with when the input ends?
Vote yes, this is an absolutely ridiculously crazy improvement. seriously, it's insane. No input = victory. who woulda guessed? I mean really I was thinking that even a 1 frame improvement might be out of the question. WOW! This is a 10 frame improvement I think too.... HappyLee, you're an amazing TASer.

I don't know. I feel like this shouldn't be possible. I don't really understand how that occured.

Jump partially in the shell as you hit it, you can bounce off of it. I'll have to test this some more later. I feel like it's definitely doable. EDIT: If the shell physics are a bit different it might not be doable, but I still think you should be able to get very close.

Mugg, you should try and do this in the SNES version. I have a feeling it might be more doable (because of the way you bounce off of koopa shells). Just a thought. Doing this on the nes version really seems impossible to me.

Improved 8-4! Not submitting yet. I think this could be improvable, but I'm not sure. I have been discussing things with klmz and adelikat lately about improvements and we are all still testing things.

Wow, very clever! :) I still think it can be improved. EDIT: so my idea failed. i'lln try again later... Heh, this should work... I'll try later tomorrow. This is pretty close to working, but it's not so I'm really annoyed.

Nice! Glad to see my time-saver in effect. :) The only thing I'm curious about. Does getting the mushroom affect the 21 frame rule in any way? I kinda feel like if you got the mushroom in another level, it might be better? Probably not, but that's my suggestion for if someone still wants to improve this. I'm doubting it would make any difference though. Now to figure out how to do the normal flagpole glitch without pressing B. ;) Also, It's April Fools Day already?

I've always been split between the TAS and unassisted-speedrunning communities. On one hand, TASes annoy me just because of the fact that no one will believe that my speedruns are done on console. The average person can't tell the difference and so being called a cheater all the time is annoying. The one thing about this is that even if TASes didn't exist, I still think I'd be called a cheater in someway anyway. But since TASes are more well known now than they used to be, people assume that a lot of unassisted runs are TASed. Thing is, I shouldn't really even care what people think about my runs anyhow. On the other hand, I love TASes. They are very entertaining and provide interesting creative methods of glitching the games in odd manners. It's cool to watch something be done flawlessly. They are fun to make and you can find out a lot more about games than you previously knew just by playing through it.

haha... Been playing DK (MAME) A few days this week. 320,900. L=10-1. This is in real time. The kill screen basically is like a 10 second countdown and then you die each time. It would be INCREDIBLE if a TASer managed to get past the kill screen in pacman or DK. :D I wonder what the limit TASing this game would be score-wise. I'm guessing 2 million+
