Do you realize that now there are probably like 5 other runs that can be improved?

I have to give this a yes vote and I haven't even watched it yet. I'm in awe that this is possible!

Yeah, my run is like 3-4 seconds slower than the fastest TAS.

I think he's referring to the wall in the second castle in the minimalist run. The castle right before the last level (The room with the spikes and the conveyor belt.) Could that work AKA? Could you jump down and then walljump up to the corner in a ducking position? I don't think it would save any time considering how slow Mario scrolls through.

I noticed something weird today, if you have full speed and run into quicksand and fly out, it looks as if you are running on air. Not like it would help in a speedrun, I'm just throwing out something I've never seen before. Edited by AngerFist: I deleted 2 of your posts because they obviously were the same as this post.

I've always liked a level in DKC a lot. You are the snake on a pirate ship. I also liked the level where it was a blizzard.

Isn't Samus's Super Wave Dash faster? It outpaces Jigglypuff's fastest move, which holds the unassisted WR for that F-Zero X 'beat the clock' stage in adventure mode...
Samus' super wavedash is pretty fast, I'm not sure if it's faster than Luigi's misfire. I think jigglypuff's B is slightly slower?

I think it would be a pretty good idea to make an all Mario run through this game, the main reason is that he is Mario (and he's not used). I'd have to say he is the worst character of the 4. Luigi - has a very long and high jump Toad - when carrying items he's super fast Princess - Has about the same length jump as Luigi, making her able to make the same gaps as Luigi. Mario - not a long jump, pretty high jump, decent item grabbing time, nothing special. You probably couldn't get a fast time through 6-2 using Mario though, but it'd be interesting to see if you could.

How many "ask" threads do you think will be in existence on this forum in the next month?

Dear Bisqwit, Which tool-assisted runs are your favorites? What If you could pick only one to keep on the site, which one would it be? Approximately how many runs on this site cannot be improved?

In the current run of this, in level 5-2 Mario goes down and upside-down pipe which sends him to the warp zone. Does this only work only in the famicom version, or does it also work in The Lost Levels on the SNES? I tried to duplicate it on console with the SNES version but had no success. Either it doesn't work on the SNES version, or I'm missing something. I also realized something odd when I was playing the SNES version. When you land on the flagpole backwards, it has a weird affect and seems as if you drop off the flagpole sooner. I'm sure it doesn't matter due to the 21 frame rule, but I think it something worth checking out. I've wondered nfor a while if that would end up somehow saving time.

I figure if people keep BLJing in every area of the basement someone will eventually be able to get to Bowser. I'd love to see a 0 star completion. What are the 8 locations you guys are talking about?

I was discussing Left+right glitches just now and I have another question. At the start of each level do you press left+ right together or is it left for one frame and then right?

Oh wait, Mario's top half doesn't get hurt if he ducks in water and then swims, so when he ducks and jumps through the firebar it's basically the same thing?

How can you jump through firebars? I think that's one of the only things I don't understand when watching smb speedruns.

AKA, in the video you posted if you were 1 frame more than when you went down the pipe would it count as 21 frames more?
You are indeed correct about 8-4, no such frame rule exists.
I dont understand why that is.
