No it's only accessible from the moat door (which requires the water to be drained) or the door in the basement, the latter of which would defeat the purpose since you would be able to enter DDD early by then anyway.
I was thinking of some possiblity to glitch to the second bowser.

AKA, in the video you posted if you were 1 frame more than when you went down the pipe would it count as 21 frames more?

I thought the frames were only added on at the end of the level? I had thought all stages had the 21 frame rule except for the castles. I see... I'm going to have to check a few things. wait... why is 4:59.6 the old version and 4:59.93 the new one?

Interesting. Well that makes sense though. Alright, as far as 1-2 pipe manipulation chamale, I'm pretty sure it would work if that pipe was a pipe that went down instead of accross. In level 4-2 when you go down the pipe to take you to the warp zone area, mario has to be completely stationary while going down the pipe or else it takes you to the intended area. Which makes me doubt 1-2 pipe confusion because you have to move horizontal distance. Making the warp zone pipes on screen and having the pipe to the very left of the screen seems like it might work, but that is pointless even if it worked because it would take longer. 8-4 has a frame rule? I didn't think it did?

I thought it was strange that going through the stairs can not be achieved, but there are not two block steps going up making it impossible. I am thinking about a few options we may have to get a better time, I'm going to see if I can confuse some pipes right now.

I was just about to say that, but I was thinking, would it save maybe one frame? EDIT: It looks like in the video Mario hits the very end of the axe. hmm..

Bowser sometimes jumps forwards so you can run under him, I think this only happens if you make a far jump right after the fire pit after the hammer brother. Bowser has never jumped forwards for you? Maybe it's based on the time you reach bowser, but in my many attempts going for the world record I've run under him plenty of times. I feel as if when I reach Bowser and I am in the air pretty high he jumps forward. Experiment with it, jump around making both short and high jumps right after the fire pit, I think eventually Bowser will jump forward.

VCUtM? Is that where the invisible switch is? I have gameshark. I'm going to test some things out on console, I most likely will not find anything, but it's worth a shot.

So if you go through the key doors using that glitch, and try and open it from the other side they will not open? Do you think you could access the area with invisible cap switch somehow using BLJs?

I really doubt this game will be improved any more. If you improve you have to improve by 21 frames (excluding the last level). That just seems unlikely considering 6 of the 8 levels are DEFINATELY perfect. 4-2 and 8-4 have some possiblity for improvement. If there is an improvement of more than 1 frame I'll be amazed. I could be wrong, hopefully. I'd like to see an improvement of a few seconds, that would be awesome. EDIT: I'm contradicting myself. sorry for the useless post.

finally an N64 movie that was up to par with the rest of the site!
There's only like 5 N64 runs though. I haven't watched tetrisphere, but that looks very interesting. Reguardless of the glitches in sm64, I still found this new video very entertaining. If you aren't in to this type of run, appreciate the 120 star run. This site aims for speed and has accomplished just that with this new run. It is faster than the super mario bros. 2 TAS, which blows my mind.

Insane. Have you guys tested out doing BLJ after falling through the top of the castle? I might be an idiot, but it seems like it might be easy to glitch something there since you are already in a gltiched up area. I hope to see a 0 star run, but I assume that will not happen.

I think Trevor is planning on improving it first. If I'm not mistaken I thought he said he would improve it after doing some resident evil run.

I found an odd glitch while playing on Nestopia. The final bowser hit Mario right as Mario hit the ax. Mario died, Bowser died, and Peach thanked no one. This got me thinking about other glitches. Then a thought hit me. Walk through walls to speed up the run! When Mario is inside a wall, he automatically starts scrolling right. If it were possible to get inside the wall just before the final Bowser, then movie end, it would significantly speed up the warps runs.
I'm not really following you... How would you get a faster time?

That might actually work for this speedrun. I am not understanding it either. you have to hit the enemies in the exact location I guess? Can you do that with koopas? Does it only work at that one level?

I know a lot of people are good at tetris. I'm just thinking it is insane for someone to beat tetris.

I have another one for you guys. Tetris. http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=qYDPMHkHh8s Now. I believe this is fake. The only reason is that the screen does not flash when he gets his first tetris. What do you guys think? Edited? TAS? real?

Check my 5:00 run out in my profile. In 4-2 I perform this glitch. If you jump backwards into a wall (in this case the platform) The screen does not scroll. Mario moves forward and the screen statys stationary. It moves you forwards a very small amount.

I had been thinking about that too. Is it because you cannot get to that hole? If that's the case you could try using my backwards jump thing so that the screen does not scroll as far. I'm sure it doesn't help.

How in the world could you possibly make it over that gap without running? the closest you can get is by walking into the shell when you place it at the very right edge of the platform and then bouncing off it. It doesn't get you enough distance though. I don't see how you could do it.

I dont think it's possible. It might work if you make the turtle walk all the way to the edge of the second platform, hit it forwards and hit your head off the top of the next platform in order to travel faster when falling and hit the shell in the air to reach the next platform. I really dont think it would work, but I think that's probably the way you would get the closest.
