"People send in super crappy speedruns just so another self-respecting speedrunner improves it, just because he can't bear seeing the crappy run online/listed" yeah, but thats cool. it's not like they have to improve the run.

So, did you try to memorize things or just, literally, play it by ear?
memorization of exverything in the level. obviously the sound helped me determine how far into the level i was as well as if i hit enemies and the length of my jumps.

so i just tried that walkathon thing with mario... i got to level 8-4 without using the B button! i think the only place you actually need to walljump is level 8-4 right before bowser.

"The only exception that comes to mind was when I worked on the Glitched Zelda 2 run." that was an enjoyable speedrun, except it is so glitched up it's not as entertaining as other zelda TAS runs.

sorry, i guess i phrased that kind of wrong. yes, a lot of speedrunners are like that. Probably most speedrunners, but i do not realize how much time they have spent on a run. some people spend a lot of time on a run, but it still turns out only decent probably because they give up eventually. yeah, some of the speedruns on SDA are just incredible, like the 70 star sm64 run. that takes soo much time. I'm just the kind of guy that even if i do a near perfect speedrun, I still keep practicing until I improve it, making it pretty much 100% unbeatable. I really hate the luck factor in speedrunning, it's a lot of which holds me back from having better runs.

I meant that I try to perfect speedruns almost as best as they can be before submitting runs. TAS runs in general do actually take runs to the NEXT level. Wish i could make one, but maybe not... I prefer to play the game. although it is great entertainment as a finished product.

I think that if you make a run like this it will just confuse people into thinking it is real. once the video gets out into the public.

how many of you speedrun a game you TAS before TASing it? I guess there is not really a point to speedrun the game... i bet a lot of you try to speedrun the game normally though.

"Im not very happy about saying this, but my favorite speedrun is trevors MM1 in 24:00." I was very impressed with his run. I think trevor takes speedrunning to the next level like me. He tries to perfect things before submitting them. I do not play megaman too much, but watching it I can see almost no mistakes, besides getting hit a couple times... all in all it's incredible I mean its 24:00 long with barely any mistakes. same goes for his tied smb1 record with me and his RE4 run. very good gamer. Anyone like the lost levels speedruns? they were entertaining, but in my opinion poorly played. I'm working on this right now. I think my mario run should beat the current luigi time by a minute hopefully. I haven't working on a luigi run yet... but i'm sure it'll probably be at least 30 seconds better than my mario run.

i can play this game well. im rediculously fast at button pressing. there is another track and feild type game i cant even beat a lot of the events... i dont know who the game was made for if i cant beat them. the best thing i;ve done in that game is i got 5.7M on pole vaulting oh wait, i beat taekwondo in 19 of those game seconds. would like to see this tool assisted.

smw the whole game to beat is really boring if you are trying to do it fast. the fastest way is to fly through each level.... i beat it in 1 hour 30 minutes once... it wwas boring to just fly through almost the whole game.

on a console i've managed 11.1 seconds, using ken. This will be an interesting video. for some reason i can only hear the sound. i dont know why. well, I can make out what you do i think. many taps of A to make him unconscious, then a final blow doing that spinning move.
