Twingalaxies i got verified. speeddemosarchive wont accept it cuz it has to be 1 second faster than the video already at SDA. i timed the guy's run at SDA by their rules and got 5:06.95, which really stinks cuz i would have to get a perfect game to replace the video.... EDIT: one more thing. http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=qmdhmp7GZrs the fastest video

Oh, I believe the reason why that was famous is those are both well-known SMB speedrunners. One of them has the record, iirc. But yeah, they're just futzing around if this is the movie I'm thinking of.
why aren't I a famous smb speedrunner!!! Jason Harmers Mine 1-1- 369 1-1- 370 1-2- 343 1-2- 346 4-1- 340 4-1- 340 4-2- 356 4-2- 357 8-1- 200 8-1- 199- (the worst thing that ever happened) 8-2- 340 8-2- 342 8-3- 242 8-3- 242 8-4- 307 8-4- 310 his time is 5:09 from when he has control of mario. i have a 5:09 from when i hit start.

I know I am already capable of beating his record. The only thing that screws me up now is the hands in world 8. If I can get by them, Im confident I can beat his record. i can beat a lot of the levels faster than sleepz. Not a lot faster, but still faster. 1-2, the first and second levels in world 8 that iare not ships as well. the others I do pretty close to identical to him. my current record for smb3 = 11:57 i do 1-2 identical to the TAS. Not too difficult you just have to figure out what to do. I can do it about 1/2 the time.

I watched a speedrun for super mario bros. 3 (not the tool assisted one), and I had thought his was better than it actually was. I think I just got confused because i watched a smb3 tool assited run here... well, anyways... I think I can probably beat a time of 11:15. I had thought the time was 11:08 or 11:07, which I thought to be VERY tough to beat, and then realizing it was 11:15 made me think I have more of a chance to beat the speedrun. So in the next few months I will be doing a non- tool assisted run of smb3 to see if I am actually capable of beating the record. :)

wait are you guys taklking about getting the most coins in the WHOLE game... that would be kind of pointless. you could get no coins and beat the game in probably 5:04 if i am not mistaken... i would like to see a speedrun where they take the pipe in 1-1, and then walljump up to get over the coins, if that is possible... or slide through the bricks... avoiding the coins.

oh, i betcha i could do this... but they used glitches... i got 3 coins while trying this, i never thought of jumping off a goomba to avoid some coins. i also had a cooler method to get to the pipe in 8-4 and to the vine in 4-2. oh yeah, i forgot, in that game i was trying to get the least amount of points i could. which made me get the least amount of coins i could get. i finished the game with i think 1,200 points. sometime i guess i will make a speedrun of me playing mario and getting no coins, it'll be pretty cool. i dont know when i could do it though...

how fast do you think super mario bros. 1 full completion could be beaten in by a person? I'm guessing about 19:30 maybe. what other mistakes did he make?
