1 frame != 1/100 seconds 0.57 seconds is approximately equal to 34 frames

I can confirm that frame skip is not ignored during frame advance in version 0.9.2 at least.

What I don't like hearing about here is that people are all assuming that everyone will change and that everyone will have the same moral values. There are always exceptions, whether you like it or not. And when there are exceptions to ideals and moral values, there is crime. Although I don't like to think of it that way, It's the truth. There is this minority, who commit atrocities, such as murder, and given a large enough population, there will be a small few people who do not hold the same ideals as everyone else. Think about it. Most people believe in the ideals you presented, I agree with them, yet there is still crime. But I guarantee, for another million years at least there will still be one person willing to commit those horrible acts.

A bunch of faggots came to my school last month with the same views as you. Naive and highly optimistic. The bullshit they were feeding us was ridiculous. Apparently we're going to have this massive paradigm shift and we're all going to live happily ever after in an ecologically sustainable world. The truth is that's bullshit. Crime is not suddenly going to erase itself. People will still be greedy and teenagers will still commit acts of vandalism. Although humanism (and religion) is a step you can take to better yourself and the world, your views are not going to be the same as everyone else's, and there is bound to be some conflict. I think we should just be thankful for the world that we're in instead of whining about how it could be better.

I also have a bit of a bone to pick with the developers; the shitty frame advance. Even the newer FA with version 0.9.4 is pretty much crap. By this I mean that when pressing FA, sometimes it doesn't register and doesn't advance. In version 0.9.2, sometimes it advances two frames. Is it possible to count the number of times you press FA, then advance to that frame, instead of advancing one frame when it registers that FA is pressed? It seems to me that it will only register that FA is pressed after it advances a frame. If you counted the number of times you press FA separately, then there would be no such problem.

Does anyone know the memory addresses for the components of mario's velocity and/or his direction?

As far as I'm concerned, this was pretty much a completely different game. Physics, boss fights, power ups, and even autoscrollers. If no-one told me this wasn't made by Nintendo, I wouldn't know. I would have believed that this was official before smb2j was. Air was just a hack.

This happens to me all the time. I run with a quad core processor and enough ram to store the universe in. The fix I found was disable "Sync samples with sound cpu" when playing a movie. I run snes9x 1.43 + v9. I don't know if this helps. (I run windows xp, but this fix also works with win7) I have never had a movie desynch in snes9x with this done.

I'm going to have to vote meh on this. It was a poor game choice, which I found boring and monotonous. And I kept getting this weird feeling to constantly brush my teeth... The gameplay was alright, but it's a dull game.

This actually looked slower, and comparing the frame counts, your way took 84 frames (10294 - 10378) where mine took 81 frames (11618 - 11699).
I'll remember that for V2 I now have a youtube encode here: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=GxkF5kt8KfU http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=y0Hv3LKrr6s

it it possible to .cl (x) frames for different systems? It only used to have NES frames which can be innacurate if you are TASing a different system (eg GB compared to SGB is different). Or alternatively different region (ie PAL). commands like .seen .ip and .geoip are useful.

Okay, I lied, The trick was discovered by NxCy, but I didn't want to disclose that since he contacted me privately. The truth is, I wasn't successfully able to do the trick. But since I'm not working on it anymore, I guess I have to pass this information onto you. http://dehacked.2y.net/microstorage.php/info/1035915609/castle3.smv Apparently it's also possible to achieve running speed by the first moving block without having to turn around. I have not been able to accomplish this and have deemed it impossible without wasting more time than it saves. You can max out your p meter, but cannot jump with a full P meter. You would have to wait for the razor to be in a more favorable position. The following is an improvement of 10 frames on my last give WIP of marble zone http://dehacked.2y.net/microstorage.php/info/838080661/Copy%20%284%29%20of%20solon%2C%20mister%2C%20andymac-TSRPR-WIP%20%28up%20to%20VC%29.smv

I have decided to refrain from taking any further part in the production of this TAS. The reason being that I am completely and utterly under qualified to TAS this game and the results that I do produce are of unacceptable standards. To TAS this game at as high a standard as current published movies and WIPs requires far greater knowledge and skill than I currently posses. Sorry, Solon, for letting you down.

I get hit to save a few frames. It looks really bad, but thats the truth. You travel faster than moving normally during the "hurt" animation

Here is an encode, for those who can't obtain, or cant be fucked applying the .ips patch. It's of questionable quality, but I needed it to be small enough to upload onto skydrive. http://cid-de1e7fef4aaf7e0d.skydrive.live.com/self.aspx/.Public/HL%7C_ExtraMarioBros%7C_transcoded.avi

I don't have a usb keyboard, I use an old PS2 one from the 90's. It's propped up by a book and has been washed several times (soap and water) and works just as well as it ever did. And if it does break, I'll just get my spare. BTW, I didn't pay a cent for this keyboard. My mouse was free too, some office computers were upgrading and they threw out all their peripherals, except for about five mice that I now have in my possession. Anyways, I don't think there is anything more intuitive than a Wii controller. You point it at the screen and press the big button labeled "A". It really doesn't get any easier than that.

I think that it's sales figures may partially be due to the fact that the specs of the console are not written on the box. As far as average joe is concerned all the consoles are equal, but the Wii has all the gimmicks. If you look at the sales for the previous generation, the PS2 was clearly the greatest, however, I would expect this to be due to the fact that the PS2 was released far earlier than it's competitors, rather than it's technical specifications.

Either way, you're going to need to buy some hardware. While you're doing this however, you could probably find a useful SRAM state on the internet somewhere, with 100% caught pokemon...

Funnily enough, I get crackling in 0.9.4 but not in 0.9.2. The game which produces this result is n+. I also found that n+ gameplay is so robust it synchs with both versions most of the time. Menu navigation however...
