The vault will like this :) But would it be possible to make some sort of playaround with this? I really like Scrabble and I feel a TAS could go crazy with it.

Thanks, that's all I wanted to know :) And I'm already hyped for any news about the TAS!

Sorry if this has been asked before, but do you have a solution now for how to manipulate the Conga RNG in MM? I remember that this killed the progress of the last TAS attempt.

Why can't it be so easy for this game like in MM.. Small keys: They are more arbitrary to include than map/compass/bosskey, since they're not permanently in your inventory. If you want to collect them for 100%, you might as well open all chests that appear on the map. Map/Compass/Bosskey: I would include them because they're permanently visible in the inventory. If you collect skulltulas 51-100, which give you nothing but a maximized number in a menu, why not going for those items too? They even make the dungeons more interesting. Epona: I know that Epona is needed to get some items, and it's unlikely that we will find a way to skip her. But if it was possible, it would be very arbitrary not to do it. Cow in house: Absolutely arbitrary. Including the cow goes into "all permanent flags" -territory. Extra HPs: They're not intended to be obtainable, but I wouldn't mind if a TAS got them.

For some reason, the existence of this game makes me happy. Today, they would have just made a crappy free-to-pay phone game.

Masterjun, because he "ACEs" games down to seconds. Solarplex, because he tackled even the most complex 3D games without much TAS history to them.

Agreed, beating a game mode that is not intended to be beatable, that's TASing at it's purest!

Thanks. The problem is that I don't have excel installed on this computer and I can't easily get it again.. There was a stupid reason for that but I don't remember. So I'm going to have to wait for another solution, or maybe you will be willing to post the total here every time? But I can only consider video records..
Just get LibreOffice. It's free, open source and fully compatible with all MS Office-formats.

Wasn't the actual time slower, because people always use the less accurate Mupen? Please correct me if that's wrong.

Ok, so did I get this right? The new Paper Mario 2 TAS does use heavy luck manipulation, because the route depends on a number of incredibly rare drops. My TAS of Gex 64 will not get the tag, because the only time RNG is relevant is at the final boss.

Such a run would seem arbitrary to me. Might as well go all out and do an actual low%

I was really impressed by [2705] GBA Pokémon: Emerald Version "Pomeg glitch" by GoddessMaria in 1:19:52.87 Using a games anti-cheat system to break it really defines glitching!

Great job on finishing this TAS, Malleoz! You really optimized this game down to tricks that save a frame, that's how a TAS should be made. There are many great and entertaining things to see during those 4 hours, it would take forever to mention them all. Personally, I especially love how you screw up the games event system in chapters 3 and 6. I guess this will be my last yes vote this year ^^

Now that strat was absolutely ridiculous, even for Pannenkoeks standards. How does he come up with those things?

This game is so bad, the AVGN was right. The worst part for me is the "soundtrack", it's hurting my ears! It's not really entertaining, not even when you watch it with muted sound, but perfect for the vault!

in 2015, I want to stop being lazy and get somewhere with the Gex TAS! I'm a person who really needs motivation for TASing and this year wasn't the easiest for me, mostly because I couldn't find a job. And this month, when I finally got some motivation back, the PC I use for TASing started to die. But right at the start of the new year, I will start my new job. Yes, this means I will have less time, but I feel it can actually make me more motivated for TASing. All I need to start working on the TAS again is to replace the faulty HDD on the PC (no, I haven't lost the data on it, and even if this was the case, I have a backup of the movie). [insert a Gex one-liner here]

Loved the soundtrack and the superhuman gameplay. When I watched it, I tried to come up with a story about the running man and this post-apocalyptic looking world ^^ I would really like to give it a yes, but I have to admit that it is too long. So it's a meh. But this should definitely be published :)

Zandergoth found a really simple, but useful trick in Gex 3 to exit bonus levels faster after getting the remote: http://www.twitch.tv/zandergothsrl/c/5708366 It needs to be a remote you obtain directly, without a TV. Normally, you will get a result screen after the animation and get sent back to the overworld once you skipped it. I can't believe no one ever thought of just pausing and exiting during the animation! In Gex 64, this can also be used, even with bosses! You will still have to watch the gate opening cutscenes, though. Good thing I had problems with my motivation this year (RL-problems), it would have sucked to learn about this after Gilligex. I'm still confident that sub 40 is possible.

I'd imagine with a better mupen64 now compared to two years ago when this thread was started, that mupen would be the choice over Bizhawk, but I haven't tested it, so I don't know for sure. Would love to TAS this game though/see it made. Anyone want to work on it with me, I'm happy to co-author? :>
There is no reason to use Mupen-rr for anything, because Bizhawk is based on the better Mupen Plus.
