The first match will be the hardest for Greece (not that any of them will be easy in that group). I hope they do better than at the last World Cup (let's not talk about that...) And besides that: Wow, I can't believe that Spain got destroyed like this! I wonder if they will manage to recover.

If there's no other way, cheats should be used to unlock stuff. I don't see a problem in this case.

You can't aim for complete optimization in a TAS of this particular game, especially not if it's the first TAS ever. The superswims are the obvious reason for this.

That's incredible! Do you have an estimate what the time for the whole TAS will be?

This was very entertaining and (I'm lame) crazy! I can imagine this game being quite hard to optimize, so this makes the TAS even more impressive. Can't wait for your next project, solar :)

That was absolutely epic, especially combined with the soundtrack! The soundtrack is also the reason I downloaded the video, just in case the content mafia takes it down.

Regarding the Pirate Party: First of all, they seem way too liberal ("liberal" in the European way that is, meaning "less state, more market") to me. At least that's what I'm thinking of the Swiss version of them, they're not very successful here anyway. But when I found out what kind of people the party attracted, I knew that I could never vote for them: In Germany, there were former members of the NPD joining them (the NPD is the closest to an openly Nazi party you can get in Germany).

I too think the Swiss have a very good political system. The people have a lot more power because not only can they start popular initiatives, but there are also many things (like changes to the constitution), where the government is required to hold a voting (mandatory referendum). Of course this makes everything quite a bit slower. At the same time, I don't want Switzerland to be isolated. We are part of Europe, in fact, we are right in the middle of it! The right-wing populists with their isolationist initiatives know this very well, as they are the same ones profiting from cheap foreign workers. They know that the government won't just close the borders, it's just propaganda for the next election.

I can't vote here because Switzerland thinks it's not part of Europe ^^ But anyway, I really think that the parliament doesn't have enough power compared to the commission, even though it's a bit better than before. Whoever wins this election, I don't think we will see too much changes in European politics.

I think in the case of a game that is so ridiculously hard to optimize, the site would accept any run that beats the best unassisted time in every aspect. So don't get discouraged by the complexity of the TAS. Also, as complicated TASing this game may be, at least you have a huge amount of knowledge gathered by the community over the years. Not every TAS has this advantage. If you actually plan on doing this, I wish you good luck!

I am incredibly lazy when it comes to such a huge TAS, but people asking about it are probably the best motivation. I really hate myself for not working more on this, especially since I invest so much time in RTAs on Twitch. But a good news is that I found a really interesting thing about the physics of surfaces, it could be related to walljumping. It seems that there is a certain type of surface that is like a mix of a slippery slope and a wall, which gives you some frames to jump or even tailbounce from it. In real time playing, they just look like almost vertical walls that don't even put Gex in his sliding animation. So far, I was only able to use this for additional timesavers here and there, but maybe it will lead to TAS-only tricks in the future. The biggest individual find was a tailbounce that skips most of the rope room on the way to the dragon remote in MTT. I got it by pure luck when trying out stuff in real time, it is probably the single most precise tailbounce in the entire game (that's why I don't have it recorded ^^) Anyway, it's time to finally get something done after all the glitch-science.

I'm so hyped for this TAS, especially since I started to run this category a few months ago. Your previous work on this game was one of the reasons for me to start doing it :)

It will be. "Oh man, I wanted to see the LEGIT speedrun strats, not this skip-all bullshit"
That's why there would be a link to the "no X glitch" run. Ok, you could argue that the RTA runners for many games also don't use any% for the fastest run. But if I were to decide the naming there, I would still go with "any% / unnamed" for the fastest and "no X glitch" for every category with restrictions. It just seems more natural to me.

This game looks painfully slow, I guess this wouldn't change even with absolutely perfect optimization. Voting no, sorry, this isn't entertaining at all.

As far as I know (but I'm not an expert for Metroid), it could theoretically be faster to get some power ups in Fusion, but no one really timed it and it's generally agreed that 0% just looks cooler.

Challenges like this are the reason the site needs a demo tier.
