I think no censoring is a good reason for a J-ROM. *remembers the ugly scenes with Ganondorf in PAL-OoT*

I was finally able to play the game, although the performance is horrible. It never crashed, but the framerate won't go higher than 30-35 (around 20 in cutscenes). The music and the voices are completely out of sync, just as mentioned in the wiki page. I also have some graphical errors, the worst beeing messed up bars at the bottom and top of the screen while playing cutscenes and the stars in the arwing levels. I'm using a quad 2.50 GHz with 8GB RAM and Windows 7 64. As I know, this should be enough to handle Dolphin. But maybe my graphic card is too weak (NVIDIA Geforce GT 220)

If a PAL-Game supports 60 Hz, it asks you if you want to use it at the start of the game. This message only appears on games that support 60 Hz. I could't find a list of all the PAL/60 Hz titles though.

It's the game that everyone seems to hate. "zelda clone", boring and uninspired" or "not a star fox game" are often heard things when it comes to the title. Personally I don't think that it is that bad, it can be fun to play this from time to time. The game is also known for it's lack of glitches or sequence breaks. As I know, there are only two things that can be skipped, the firefly lantern and the super quake, both by using the so called "Airswim" The best time so far is the segmented 4:46 by UCpro (which doesn't use the two tricks I mentioned, as they were not yet discovered at the time) I would definitely enjoy seeing a TAS of this game. However, I don't know how playable this game currently is on Dolphin. I don't think I could really use the emulator anyway with my 2.5GHz processor (I didn't test it) So what do you think, would there be interest in a SA Run?

I would love to see Burnout 2 TASed. I played this game countless of hours, it's definitely one of my most played racers. There should be enough potential in it for some crazy records. A TAS should be able to always manipulate perfect traffic and abuse the OoB-Shortcuts. We could also do some ridiculously glitched Crash Mode-Scores and Pursuit-Races (it is possible to stop the opponent in an amount of seconds by letting him crash the right way)

I don't think fastest time on the bonus stages looks boring. I remember when i first saw a run of RttF on YT, and was really impressed at how fast it can be completed with damageboosting. Yes, a SSBM-Nerd may find it boring, but most of the casual viewers haven't seen such videos (there not that easy to find) For BtT, you can find an endless amount of times on the internet, but again, a complete list with recent times isn't easy to find. In a TAS you always know, this is the fastest possible way to do this. Oh and one more thing. You didn't start from a fresh file. The site normally doesn't allow this, unless there is a good reason for it. You're using a start charakter anyway, so there is no reason to not following this rule.

I watched your WIP. The fighting stages were very entertaining, but I didn't like BtT/RttF that much. I think you should go for fastest time on these stages instead of playing around. But that's just my opinion...

I always thought some games should have IL-Lists. SSBM would be a good candidate for things like BtT or event matches. Watching every charakter beat his BtT-Stage in a single movie would become boring very quickly, but with ILs you could only watch the ones you're interested in. And it would definitly be better than searching for every single record seperately on the internet.

Would it be accepted to use the PAL-Version for a "max money, hidden mansion" run? Hardest difficulty isn't in the official list of reasons to use PAL, although the general rules say that the hardest available difficulty is preferred.

This is one of the best TASes i've ever seen. You can't make speedrunning/TASing more entertaining than this! My favorite part was the BK-skip in GBT, what a WTF-Moment! @MrGrunz Glückwunsch für den TAS des Jahres! Schonmal an eine kommentierte Version gedacht? Das wäre die einzige Möglichkeit das Ding noch unterhaltsamer zu machen.

I finally watched it, and I can say that it's as good as I expected. Easy yes vote! It may be boring for a casual viewer, but if you watch it concentrated and read the explanations, it's just impressive! ...or you need to be a nerd :D

Thank you Kirkq, this was a great find! Now I understand why there are some places that ALWAYS start a battle. Remember that last Blood Jell encounter in Cull Hazard or the part in Baragoon Tunnel right after the long bridge? Thats because the counter still increases on those places. You can't trigger any battles on places like bridges or stairs, but they are still on the same map. Oh and I agree with you about Guilty. I always found him being the hardest boss!

I also thought about this deathwarp. How would the route look like at the moment? I have some questions about that: - What element will be used to kill Solvaring? - Do we go to Glencoe Forest? I think it is be required for fast Zelse and Nepty battles, there are just too much spirits in there. - Would using the Blue Wings really be faster? The way from the forest to the town isn't that long. - I guess you know that talking to the girl in Larapool isn't required to lower the water? Just enter and exit the room. In their testruns, Animeowzerz and Peaches didn't seem to know that, so I told told them about it. - Theres that spirit, number 51 in the gamefaqs guide. It's somewehre on the ship, but I don't remember it exactly. Can this be collected on the first trip to West Carmagh? - Will we go to Limelin? If we do, getting the Red Wings should save time.

Okay, I guess I should test whats needed for an item drop. I'm in a battle with two were hares, second round. - Skiping turns is allowed. - One hit them with Fireball 2/3, Fire Bomb, Homing Arrow 1/2, Hot Steam 2, Magma Ball, Wind Cutter 2/3, Cyclone, Ultimate Wind, Water Pillar 2/3, or Rock Shower to get the bread. Some spells are hard to get a drop from (Ultimate Wind, Rock Shower) others seem to always work, especially close range spells. Mid-range attacks like Fire Bomb are trial and error. First I thought that it's only the position, but after this tests i'm starting to think that time is a factor too. Because these spells that gave me drops from my loading position, sometimes still didn't work. The most useful address I could think of would be Brians position in battle

Thank you for the savestates, Kirkq! I was so lazy with doing this... I tested more things, currently i'm at the item drops. I also found out that your MP exp even increases when you use items against your enemies! However, it does not work with items that buff yourself. Heres a list of monsters and the drops I found for them. It will be updated: Were Hare – Fresh Bread Hell Hound - Dew Drop Big Mouth – Fresh Bread Goblin – Fresh Bread Apophis – Spirit Light Orc Jr – Fresh Bread Merrow - Replica Skeleton – Fresh Bread Wolf Goat – Honey Bread Scare Crow – Honey Bread Wyvern – Healing Potion Temptress – Fresh Bread Arachnoid – Celine's Bell Jack-O-Lantern – Silver Amulet Termant - Honey Bread Fish Man – Honey Bread Note that if theres a battle with multiple types of monsters, it's not always clear which of them drops the item. This means you need to find the monster alone.

@Acheron86: Thanks, now it shouldn't be too hard to convert de numbers from the two versions. Here are the values for the items: White Wings: 3839 Yellow Wings: 4095 Blue Wings: 4351 Green Wings: 4607 Red Wings: 4863 Black Wings: 5119 Spirit Light: 255 Fresh Bread: 511 Honey Bread: 767 Healing Potion: 1023 Dragon's Potion: 1279 Dew Drop: 1535 Mint Leaves: 1791 Heroes Drink: 2047 Silent Flute: 2303 Celine's Bell: 2559 Replica: 2815 Giant's Shoes: 3071 Silver Amulet: 3327 Golden Amulet: 3583 Earth Orb: 5375 Wind Jade: 5631 Water Jewel: 5887 Fire Ruby: 6143 Eletale's Book: 6399 Dark Gaol Key: 6655 The numbers must be typed in exactly like that. Otherwise you may still get them, but with a glitched item on the second slot that can freeze the game. The values will change if you have more than one item.

Finally i've found something useful, the address for the first item slot! In my version it's 00979A0A (short) If you want to use it, you will need to reduce the 5th and the 7th number by 1. Ex: 00969430 to 00968420 Since this numbers are hexadecimal, I don't know exactly how to do this with a 0. But I don't think you will have much problems with it ;) I'm right now searching all the values for the items. I'll post them when i'm done!

andypanther: Was your method of skipping battles able to get rid of ALL random encounters for the whole game with some manipulation? (or were you still forced to get in a battle, just less often?)
I can't tell how constant this method is. I was able to avoid some of this 100% encounters by using a combination of different movement and menu entering. Sometimes I needed to load an earlier save and manipulate it different, to continuing further. But i'm not sure if this skips or just delays the battle. The mechanics of this are very confusing. Have you ever tried it out with a savestate just before one of those 100% encounters? You CAN avoid or delay the battle, with waiting, slow walking or opening menus. Example: You're standing on the way to connor forest, two man eaters are about to appear. If you run, the battle starts in about 2 seconds. But if you walk slowly, a different combination of monsters will appear, or the enemies come from another direction. But maybe it's not about Brians speed, but more about the location. Sometimes I was able to go very close to the forest (by running or walking) Another question is if the menu screens can really interrupt the battles. After some attempts i was able to "slide" into the forest by pressing R and forward repeatedly. Or was this just helpful for finding the exact route? I don't know...

I'm still experimenting how searching works. I couldn't find anything useful, only Brians direction, which goes from -3.00000.... to 3.0000.... or something. 0 is the neutral position when he enters a house. This is only the case for houses, if you open a door to a town or enter a dungeon, it doesn't go to 0. The address is: 0096856C I also found the step counter, but I don't know why it stops outside of towns and other places without monsters. Is there a different counter for these places? If we could find a counter for the next battle, this could be very helpful to avoid them. The counter for the number of monsters is very good for testing (I found two of them, but only one can be used to really change the number of enemies, I wonder what the other one does) About item drops: It seems they are based on how you kill the enemy. I have a savestate of a battle with a single hellhound, first round. I tested out what is needed for a dew drop. In this case, it is a one-hit-kill You can: - Miss him with anything as many times you want - Heal yourself You can't: - Kill him in less than one attack - Debuff him (except for soul searcher) - Buff yourself (a power staff-one-hit doesn't count, but you can use vampires touch) - Use extinction
