dunno about deadly waste, didn't test it it would depend on how long it takes to get the right enemy (could easily take 15 seconds+) do you think it is worth losing 5 - 7 seconds to show two glitches? i think it is i forgot to mention that one of the glitches allows the party to be 1 level higher, so it is possible that it could save some time in the future. although this has not been tested.

I won't work on this run for a long time. Bosses Only Sample H0512: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=1995wzSWAIQ Hundred / Heli Gunner (Longest Boss in the speedrun) http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=S6Gm3RY4NrQ Rufus: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=FHJbfuC8iug Motorball: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=D2dWzvqq7Ts Bottomswell: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=Ye-U3B8R3IU Jenova BIRTH: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=085y6zUPWc4 The grenade strategy doesn't allow for much of a time improvement. I think the upcoming boss battles are much more fun (Overpowered Tifa). Oh, unless a new trick is discovered, Pre-emptive is not possible on all bosses.

everything you are talking about has been tested :D btw, grenades are no longer used. right arm is faster against sneaky steps x3, but doesn't save near 57 seconds. update: Part 8: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=tpjVyemS5cU Part 9: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=o6PzyRctvrw Part 10: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=JXd7umR--dQ Part 11: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=vtlYuciEeC8 Part 12: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=GVww2szM7AM Part 13: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=kt-tyQ7t0y0 Part 14: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=GG1yV6N56Jw Playlist: http://www.youtube.com/view_play_list?p=6475094B5F9060AA edit: fixed links

Which is a better way to win battles? Can you give an example where right arms save over 57 seconds? I'll have powersoul and trine within 10 in-game minutes. latest news: video is encoding and will be uploaded to youtube would anyone find annotations useful? (there are small plot skips + tricks that you may not notice)

In my game, right arms would take 57 seconds to get. (playstation) I don't know if Farringa used the so-called 'perfect tactic' versus DG. In my battle, DG will only attack once (and miss).

Forgot to mention that the bomb enemies may not come naturally. So it will waste a load of time having to get them.

Thanks to the great lua scripting work of Apo123 I got the 'fastest' version of the Rufus parade-routine thing. (It took 5 hours of brute force crunching :P) This saves 400~ frames An encode will be made sometime soon. From Reno to Shinra Boat. 1 hour+ of video. update: Jenova-BIRTH defeated Should I steal two right arms from the bomb enemies? They are used to deal 1300hp each to demons gate

Toad King ftw It worked and did not desync :D too bad there's no built-in avi recorder, since it plays so slowly. before i used to get 100+ fps dtm http://www.mediafire.com/?4rorrq7o5npctlo this game: ssbm.gcm CRC32: 873DDD72 MD5: 3A62F8D10FD210D4928AD37E3816E33C SHA-1: 5AB1553A941307BB949020FD582B68AABEBECB30

hmm, the problem is I don't have any of the memory addresses that I need :P I guess someone else can try it if they want. update: President Rufus Parade Should I win the 'force stealer' weapon for Cloud? Braver is used at least twice on Jenova buster sword Att = 18 force stealer Att = 36 Lvl = 11 str = 25 The formula to work out how strong: Att + [(Att + Lvl) / 32] * [(Att * Lvl) / 32] Garland goes with HP Plus materia, instead of the 'force stealer', but it is debatable as to whether it will be needed in this run.

There might be a way to skip the Kalm flashback entirely. But to do this I'll need a lua script that can test every possible X/Y coordinate position, within a range, and press circle. Then compare an address to see if it was successful. Can someone help with this? It would potentially save 20 minutes. And if it works, it could be used to skip other plot sections. update: bottomswell defeated

the mistake was: not picking up the ether in elmyra's garden the first time consequently, having to shop twice update: Rufus down. And I managed to change the strat due to luck manip. I might be able to leave midgar by tonight. This depends on how difficult the motorball battle is. (currently around 8-9 minutes faster than garland's speedrun)

btw, i wasn't talking about recording an avi Sample: HO512 defeated. There's a "perfect" strat against him, but it is too improbable to work without costing substantial time. Let's see if it can work out... The perfect strat could save around 300 frames in this battle. Did the "perfect" strat. Saved 300 frames. update: Hundred/Heli Gunner destroyed. Now time for Rufus + Dark Nation In theory, this should be the easiest boss battle to manipulate so far Too afraid to make a good encode out of fear the emulator will desync if I mess with the plugins

I can only make a video if it syncs. And I don't know if it will. Hmm, is it ok if I load from a savestate that occurs after the desync? (the movie originally synced and then i made a savestate) because this is what I've been doing lately... I don't know if this could possibly ruin the run or not. Once I get past a difficult segment, I load from this savestate to see if it syncs up (it always does). Or do I have to view the full run each time? (1 hour 20 mins) X_____X I'll try to encode once Sample:HO512 is defeated.
