I've beaten my previous score. I noticed there were some inefficiencies in my old run. Level 1: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=rSvFfmaOk6o Score: 154400 (old score was 137800)

I know how to play this game in real-time. Let's try TAS. The aim of the game is to capture the normal and green qubes but to discard the forbidden black qubes. To get the most points you have to do this in the lowest amount of rotations. Rotations begin when you first capture a qube. You also get bonus points for using the green advantage qubes to bomb surrounding qubes. If a forbidden qube is near a bomb area, you have to mark it, thus preventing the bomb from capturing it. You are not supposed to capture forbidden qubes. It all gets complicated as the levels progress... Level 1: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=rSvFfmaOk6o Level 2: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=QR0CcF2m1QY I found a glitch where you can run across rows of blocks without injury. I'm not sure of it's application yet, it could be useful for the more complex stages.

Another problem, this time with MGS:VR Missions. The record file sometimes disappears... It doesn't appear in the movie file directory... version 0.06 Also, I cannot get any sound at all from the game. Someone else should test. Also, also, it seems to freeze after level 1 is completed...

I am interested in this game. I will update this topic with videos of my attempts. Maybe the person who is doing the MGS run can learn something. Post here if you have any ideas for faster strategies. WIP1: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=8HNgqAgBw28 Level 7: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=C-r7bBfpQXM watch in hd

Is there any way to get the fast TAB mode back? In v0.0.7test4 the turbo mode is very slow. It takes too long to continue with my FF7 TAS :P also, the movieconverter doesn't seem to be working for some of my files. It has converted some, but will not convert others... Can anyone else convert or play this: http://antdgar.googlepages.com/test1.pxm

I'll be doing SSBM if I have time. I think ice climbers grab TAS combos could be interesting. You can control both, making them do different attacks. This is just a basic grab combo (you can do frame advance in ssbm, but no load/save because it crashes too often, and AVI recording would be troublesome): http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=yOLnApe5AhM&feature=channel_page Here's a MUCH harder one: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=ia8jqRyUp9E

Yes, I've tried almost all the levels. As I've completed the game using the emulator. I don't think any of the other levels caused the game to slow down. There used to be a problem with Fountain of Dreams. However the latest SVN, which I use, fixed the issue and so every level has run at full speed for me. edit: Direct3D9 plugin doesn't play well with my ATI card at all. It keeps flashing weirdly and fps drops to 30fps. I think it's a problem with Direct3D9

In-game? Screenshot or it didn't happen.
This is the PAL version which runs at it's native 50fps. The NTSC version runs at 60fps. I no longer use the NTSC version because I'm from UK. And my friends play the PAL version. I'll post NTSC screenshots later, once it's finished transferring. You can see that even with 4 players in the middle of an action scene the fps doesn't drop at all. With 16x AF. You should also state which plugins you are using and which OS. I use OpenGL and Tinyxp.

It would be nice if you could post your computer's specifications. i.e. processor (speed, cores, AND model), RAM (speed and amount), graphics card, etc.
Intel Core 2 Duo E6400 3.2GHz (overclocked) 2GB 800MHz RAM ATI HD 4850 512MB SSBM constant 60 fps. The new SVN versions have really improved save/load support (ie, the emulator doesnt crash when you save or load)

SSBM plays at full speed on my computer. It's the only game I play using this emulator.

Also, sometimes 0.0.5 uses a lot of CPU. Normally when playing it uses 50% (1core), and temperature is 55c But suddenly it does more work at random times and temp goes to 60c. It goes to 60c when I'm not even playing a game, and when I am playing it may go back down to 55c.. Even when in turbo mode (1000fps) it is at 55c, so I think it is an error why it works the cpu when not running a game? Temp is on both cores. (3.2GHz E6400 Core2Duo) It's a minor issue of course

I used default in version 0.0.5 I haven't seen any major problems with it. I'm at the end of disc 3.

I am now thinking of occasionally using Cait Sith's Slots. Some situations may arise that require too much luck manipulation. In such a situation it may be impossible (not impossible, but will take too long to be feasible) to follow the optimal strategy. I will probably use slots in these cases.

I get a strange issue with 0.0.5. At the first boss in FF7 it makes me fight it twice. And then crashes after the second battle.

I will post a video once I get to the first save-point. I am currently climbing down the first ladder in the reactor. I will save the game in the video. This is so ordinary speed runners may compare their times/strats to the video etc. The video will probably be posted tonight. The glitch method takes about 95 frames btw. Running away from a battle with almost full ATB is about 716 frames (running before an enemy attacks. may change with barret though). I think optimally I should use the glitch method less than 7.5 times in a row. Otherwise I could have ran away and done the walk-trick to avoid the next encounters in less time. But this depends greatly on what type of battles/danger level limits etc are coming up.

Yes, using game-over may be faster against some optional bosses, not sure

I will firstly do a run which: -does not use Cait Sith's game over limit break too often (it will be boring to watch over and over) -uses all the other glitches if they can save time
