I've done Yoshi Team. I've beaten Nico. by +1 in game timer. I'll post up the m64 in this post. The end is not optimised. I'm figuring out what to do there. Yoshi rainbow, what is that. Edit: http://download.yousendit.com/13564B68706DD7E1 The last 3 Yoshis will of course be optimised later. 1v1 is so extremely easy to TAS because I have so much experience with it. These teams are frustrating to say the least ^^;;

Kirby can't taunt like that. I can only use shine. Every other move is too slow. I'm down to the last 5 Yoshis. No sign of Super Yoshi this time.

You think I should interoperate throwing into Yoshi Team? Sometimes shine is not the best move, since it has mad lag when not cancelled on the ground. I am faster than Nico, but on that section he is infact faster than me. This will take sometime, I'll see what happens if I grab a few of those dinosaurs. I've also been coming up against a super Yoshi who will not die from a shine, no matter what. WTF!

I am not sure how to manipulate a plain old item appearing ^^ I've done it with crates/barrels/capsules. Time to work on Yoshi Team. I'm not 100% sure of the best method for optimising this match. Shine is a must because it kills them off sideways. Up-aerial is fast but they die too slow because they go to the back of the screen. Any ideas? Manipulating them to fall together in the same spot for a double/triple kill sounds interesting. (I know double works, have never got triple)

for single player, a predefined time when an item drops you can affect what item it'll be? I think that changing the frequency of item drop rate would not be allowed/practical, because changing item drop frequency only applies to multiplayer.
What I was saying is that in 1player mode the invisible setting is either "normal" or "low" etc. The direction and strength at which you throw the capsule/barrel/crate determines which item may appear. Also, the input after the capsule/barrel/crate is broken greatly changes the item produced.

It's usually a predetermined time when items first drop. Since they can be set to "normal", "low" and "high" etc.

I've been trying extensively and the left edge is terrible.

You can make Link come to the left edge. I don't know how to properly position myself on that edge though so the Link dies and not Kirby ^_^. If it's at all posible? Does the sloping ledge also stop the suicide back throw? I am not getting it to work. I have Link right next to the left edge at 4:57. I don't know what you can do from there, but I'm trying to find something. http://img378.imageshack.us/my.php?image=capturetu7.jpg

I was running two Mupen64 instances. So maybe it showed only my frame count on his instance. That could've been the case. I'll re-watch his using one instance of the program and see if I'm faster. Yes, that was the case. It was showing the same frames. So I am faster than him. Mupen is being crazy right now, not showing anything on the screen and not being able to play in a window. So perhaps I can't work on the run as much as I want to.

Maybe we are talking about different things then. I was talking about recording AVI. This worked. BTW, my menu navigation at the beginning was not optimised, so I will restart my run. Nic, killed Link on the same frame as me. However, the timer clearly shows I was faster, so I'll have to re-do the menu to match his. I will take off controller 2 then, since it's unlikely I'll get any benefit from using it.

To record from the start you can pause at frame 1, then start the avi recording. Oh great news on that psychoticworm.

I don't know. This is my first time using record from reset. Also, I can easily encode AVI's for you if those other users you mentioned are unavailable.

If you don't mind testing, and finding if it's consistent or not before I start that'd be nice so that I can remake the movie file 1 controller instead of two before I get too far...
Yeah I tested this a lot in the past and it failed to be consistent. I'm just using 2 controllers at the hope I find something again, since it does happen. I don't think you should use 2 controllers though. I think you should continue using 1. Nice Psychoticworm, your new run should be great. It's 3am here. Bed time.

Yah, about the 2nd controller for item manipulation. I didn't say anything before, because I think I came across a type of glitch when I was messing about with 2 controllers some time ago. In certain situations input on the second controller would give "more random" results (in terms of spawning items). I didn't say anything before because it's really quite a 'random' thing and doesn't always happen. So I was reluctant for you to re-start your run by introducing a second controller. I guess it can't hurt. Maybe we'll find out what caused my results in the first place ^_^; Yes, I don't think Mupen has ever desynchronised on me. Although I haven't made a video longer than 5minutes =P

I know you do not need it. I want to use it. Yes I have another purpose of using it.

I think it is totally optimised. Unless you can see something?

Looks like I'll have to re-do Vs Link. I'll have to stick to using two controllers.

Ok. If I can remove the second controller without re-doing VS Link then I will use a single controller.

Yes, I thought A didnt do anything for those screens. You may see the second controller becoming helpful later.

Yes it is that. I don't want to waste time finding the first frame to press start on. I press start on every frame, it is just the way I prefer to do it. It shouldn't make any difference. Just make a second controller as if someone else was playing.

Yah its not the same gamepad, in case you thought that. Player 1 and Player 2. Player 2 can also navigate menus...

I use the N64 controller. I am talking about screens passed this one. EG. when it displays your score etc at the end of a stage, and "vs link". This is the video of Fox's slides: http://download.yousendit.com/9F61A5D723265BED

Yes, as I said my own preference is to use two controllers. It will take me too long to use 1 controller.
