Keep trying. I thought that Volume Envelope Height Reading helped against desyncs?
Before I get hardcore negative comments:- I just did this to see if it would desynch! =P It didn't desynch. However, It is mortal kombat 2 AND I have no idea how to play the MK series. I will learn though if people want to see something. Here's an example of it not desynching: http://a2.11mbit.in/cC9k8e17uvxKLrEFG9fBC4a6306OPv2KqMEkldAA3953mIfC9ay34stG/9xh2ia34

A while back, I used two testing plugins that could record GPU and SPU output from ePSXe to create a short movie of Final Fantasy IX. I'm able to use slowdowns and rerecords while using these plugins and then later capture the streams using Fraps when I replay them with different GPU and SPU plugins, like Pete's. I was going to play through the whole game this way, but stopped when I found out its major disadvantages and bugs. Namely, whenever you load a state, any sound or music instrument that was playing at that moment will be cut off. This makes for some very nasty sound bugs. Also, it wasn't possible to properly capture the audio and video streams (resulting in a lot of lag, as you can see during the battle). Fraps was really my last resort. The program is also very prone to "break" the audio (meaning everything will be recorded without sound, requiring that you restart the emulator), which happened everytime you loaded a state during an MDEC. Still, this video is pretty cool, especially if you'd really like to see ePSXe re-recording someday. Some features:
  • uses slowdowns and re-records
  • uses luck manipulation (to get the Mage Masher with Cinna's Steal command)

Hey I want to do this. Can you send me the tools to do so?

Jago vs Orchid: http://a2.11mbit.in/7d57PvnopiEkGdeA89a63z0suvwJKqikd052Pv1pLrsFlHeBCDab7017/FM5GH9Bh With more experimenting I have found that the fastest way to kill someone is to do a reset. Those who follow fighting games know that a reset is a combo. Not just any old combo however, it is a combo which isn't recognised by the game's combo system. In my latest vid you can see the reset in round 2. The combo takes place at 29 seconds into the vid. The combo is then reset as I do another combo -which isnt counted by KI's combo system. It takes 2/3 of the life bar ^_^ I'm pretty sure there'll be a reset which takes the entire life bar.

This emu is awesome. I like the Street Fighter Alpha 3 TAS's that come with it. Dan FTW. It would help if we could re-map all the buttons, frame advance, re-record, savestate etc... I then will be able to do some TAS's with it :D The buttons just aren't good enough for me to use right now. Good luck with this.

Ain't it about time to dig this game up again?
Yeah it's about time. Someone do something for this game. It'll be entertaining to watch. <3 MK

Ok. I've got a SSBM tournament to go to tomorrow. But as soon as that's over I'll begin researching which character will be best to use for such a challenge. Fox is fast... but Kirby can get the pacifist bonus score. Hmmm...

Does anybody wanna see something else done for this game? SSB is one of my favourite games, I'd be willing to do something if people would watch. Anyone?

Antd - Yet again an entertaining video. Allthough I would have shot Orchid on the way down from the Ultra combo. :) Could you please try to make as long combos as possible with each character while finishing them off? Perhaps longest combo + ultimate would be awesome to see. :D
Yes, I was going to shoot Orchid on the way down :) But she is my favourite character, so I thought to somehwhat spare her =P Ok I'll be sure to incorperate the longest normal combo + ultimate to finish them off. I'll also show some infinites (I wonder if my ROM version still has these infinites... i think so :)) Orchid coming up next... Edit: I'm busy with up and coming tournaments... i.e Super Smash bros. melee tournaments... I'll get around to this after the tournaments. I hope someone else attemps something on this game ;-) Oh I also made this vid: http://s6.11mbit.in/rxK4e7BhDjGP9Et8Ds1Bq5AKy8Io7dnx6GvaFu4MN2LM1BK4385kku4E/w91o385f It is to show how fast that damn windkick move is. Also, jumping over the opponent is good for when the CPU blocks. I'm still researching this game btw...

Yeah, I'm still experimenting with all the characters. I found somewhat of a problem: The CPU Orchid is renound for blocking almost for the whole fight.. So it was very hard to fight against her in this video, she blocks so much... There are a few frames lost simply because she would block if i had attacked her, so i waited for a few times, inputting commands to make her attack. I'll try and find a way around this. Here's the vid: Only 2MB http://s4.11mbit.in/6reFLoP015gmEpqwO49fGM128DJuzaBms23eEp017hnc06chIOy9fG9E/ojki9lC9 SMV: http://s4.11mbit.in/g5f8aA7iAcDotz5fcDoP4a2diAGr17963v6349Fq06ciAFqw7cDJu522/dHNg8a20 Fulgore vs Orchid hardest difficulty, fastest speed, no damage. In Round 2 of the vid I experiment using normal attacks which are unblockable. The example shown is a combination of quick and medium punches/kicks executed very fast but obviously not counted as a combo in the game. It's too bad fulgore's teleport is so slow... it doesnt leave a lot to do with it. Fulgore is extremely powerful. It only takes 2 combo's to take 1 life bar. However I believe he is too slow and doesnt have many versatile moves. Also... I'm thinking of making a video where I get dont hit the opponent. I then get ultra combo'd by the CPU then I break it (its a mad glitch which will let me break the ultra combo, i'll have zero life) then infinite the opponent to death... Just a thought if I get insanely bored 1 day. Oh yeah, Spinal and Orchid will be next. Any suggestions will be appreciated. Whatdya wanna see =P

I've already expressed my opinion that this game doesn't make a good TAS, worse so than Street Fighter or Mortal Kombat. Please watch Fultz Vol 1 if you have not already. One problem with a TAS as compared to a traditional combo movie is that you will have to watch all boring steps of the 80-hit combos (yes, 80 hits can be done on the SNES version).
I've seen that combo video. It seems other people want to watch a TAS of this game. I'm going to make some matches of every character anyway, and will probably make a full TAS if there is demand. So far, the users who have posted are pretty positive about watching more of this game.

Would a run where you used the guy that can morph into the others be ideal? It would be a different combo for each fight :D
Interesting.. but only the end of the combo will be different... also the guy your talking about (Spinal) doesnt have many moves and so in the long run he is bound to be more repetitive than other characters. I'll make a vid of spinal too. In the mean time have a look at my Jago vid.

Would you please care to make us a WIP antd? Since you seem to have great knowledge of the game etc you should be most able to create a very funny video of this game. :)
hehe thanks, fighting games are my speciality =D I've put this little thing together to see what I can do: Fight 1, me as Jago on hardest difficulty and fastest speed cheat. The Vid is 20MB --- 1 minute long --- sorry dont know about compression ;) http://s7.11mbit.in/96dz1g3DEOt45jlmnwblm1xcmnJy8eoy49nxyd9Jpz5fBq5fBhr12Bhr/ImeNt3Ds EDIT: 2MB FILE HERE =) http://a1.11mbit.in/wNGd9Jp01JydnxFP9EF2hr1gLzf2cHw6ku4EOu4js2Crs2hregp49nyc/39oNFPv5 Tell me y'all think ;) I would love to make a proper tool assist with all the bells and whistles. Comments needed! I found out with luck manipulation the CPU cannot break any combo's ^_^ The best thing however is psuedo combo's. Simply because I input the moves so fast I can chain my own unbreakable combo's. An example of this is in the video where I chain 3 windkicks together. (windkick= the flying leg move). This is otherwise impossible, just too fast... With my playing around I'll undoubtedly find other moves like this!! Can't wait. KI ownz ;) Or maybe someone else is more suited to making a tool assist of this game? I havent made anything before.... only my own pleasure stuff... I'm still gonna make this though :) I think Jago is a bit too repetitive in the sense he has only 2 special move combo starts. A character such as Orchid has many more combo starters and I believe she would be more entertaining to watch. She also has crazy reset combo's. I'll be sure to make a match vid using her too see what you guys think.

Loading times are exeptionally fast when using an ISO. Example: Street Fighter Alpha 3 loading screens load in 1-2 seconds, on the console it normally takes 10-15x this. This is also true for other games which I have played.

I don't think he is the fastest really. I think there are some juggles that others can use in order to do 100% damage. Perhaps Eyedol has this as well? I never really explored much with him. His variety won't be that great, and we won't get to see any nifty ultimates or ultra finishers. However since Eyedol is activated through Cinder this can be used to variate stuff. Not sure if there is any other way to get in contact with Eyedol as a playable character. Also I think that hyper active mode should be used in order to break this game faster. This can be done before every battle as far as I know, by rotating the controllers D-pad counter clockwise I think.
Yes, there is a cheat to play as Eyedol and to make the game way faster (different levels of increased speed). AND there are MANY MANY different combo's many of which you probably haven't seen. Loads of unbreakables too (which frame advance would add to). In addition there are "broken combo's" aka "resets", which adds even more variety. Infinite combo's also exist for many characters. As for speed: Jago, orchid and combo come to mind. They have massive damagin combo's and full screen attacks/combo starters. I can do most of the combo's normally, so the combo's wont be hard for me to accomplish... However in theory, it is true that it may become somewhat reptitive. Oh... and eyedol has a crazy infinite. The fastest gameplay cheat:- Hold left + L + X + Y on the VS. screen. Regarding the combo breaking CPU: There's also a cheat to turn off combo breakers so the CPU cant do them =D

I did a search and couldnt find a topic for this game. I want to make a tool assisted video of Rolling Thunder 2. However, I'm not sure what really looks good and should be included. I just dont know whether to go for high score, fastest time, lowest score(?), minimal kills.... Also, I think I should show skill by not killing the enemies so fast. Like letting them gather on the screen, then taking them out with several quickly fired shots (turning left and right to aim) and dodging their fired shots. Take a look at what I've done so far, this is my 1st attempt to see what's possible. http://s5.11mbit.in/5pdEou027dEKvs38ekq017hItz4flM128jJP86gv6639jK016hjpPj78/LCa74afl

Here's a quick video showing the speed of fox's shine: http://s4.11mbit.in/5gz17dDfcDJlLw7z9Aca1ciJlhoO51O4a2dDJGM17z5fGiJuz178ifGM/Jv2urxO4 As you can see it is amazingly fast ^_^ The video uses real media codec

I made a few vs cpu match vids. It is my first time making tool assisted vids. I just did it to see what was possible, it's really fun making these vids. :D I have a prob, my computer is very fast yet I can't get a good frame rate when playing at normal speed. Yet I can get 60FPS when using PJ64. I used mupen64 for these vids. Thanks if you answer my questions.
