Someone should just get a beastly computer and have it run through every possible input under the current time and see what happens. Voted Yes.

I just tested the remaining levels, and I was able to do them all in real-time, so a full game walkathon is now completely possible. 6-2, 6-3 and 7-1 are bound to look pretty.

I can't believe it took over 2 years for someone to come up with something that works. Maybe finally, the game has a limit, but NOOOOOO, here comes MUGG. Amazing.

Wow. Not only this astounding improvement, but MUGG just finished getting through the jump in 4-3. What limitations do walk-a-thons have, not to mention the entirety of the game?

3. This site is mostly about optimized full-game tool-assisted speedruns or works-in-progress thereof, not about the kind of crap that clogs YouTube and ruins the good name of the TAS.
Thanks.

Look what I made. Basically, it's Barba being attacked by a little wee Link with 1 for Attack. The savestate and movie are in the ZIP file which can be found on the link below. http://www.speedyshare.com/872140174.html It's my first TAS I finished, but I wasn't incredibly interested in doing it, so it isn't completely optimal or entertaining, but nonetheless, it's something neat to check out. Unfortunately, my computer sucks and I can't make a good quality AVI. If someone could do that for me so I can put it up on Youtube, I'd be very grateful. =)

I am not using TAS-Movie-Editor at all at the moment, I'm just using FCEUX's TAS Edit. The question I'm asking is if I can start the movie, say, half-way, so I don't have to watch the full thing for every little change I do at the end (thus making it much faster to do).

Alright, so I have some TASing going along. Another little question. =) Now that I've progressed a moderate amount, how can I start a movie and the demo at a certain point, while keeping them in sync? I'm currently using FCEUX (2.0.3 since TASEdit works better), and using the TASEdit tool. The way I'm doing it too is that I have 2 separate programs open; one for TASEditing and one for playing the demos (it's a little faster overall). Any help is greatly appreciated.

How does one edit individual frames? Sorry if double-posting is discouraged.

As soon as I double click it I get this. "The application failed to initialize properly (0xc000135). Click on OK to terminate the application." Halps.

I'm thinking of doing more "freerunning" style. Yay, another question; is the TASEdit style of TASing also available for a GB emulator?

I just have a follow-up question, now that I've been trying a few things. I'm finding that the emulator is running faster than 60 FPS, but I can't find a way to set it to NES speed. How do I change it.

;>_> Thanks a ton! Two more questions. 1) There is 2 columns for each button. I assume it's for each controller? 2) What type of ROMs am I getting ( [U], [E], etc)? Sorry if this is in an obvious spot, but I couldn't find an answer. Off to make my first TAS. o/

I'm a fan of TAS and somewhat into making TAS' (TASi? :P), but I was wondering... Let me use an example, say for NES. Is there any sort of program or anything where I can have a large chart, having the vertical side being the frame numbers, while the horizontal side being the different buttons, and then simply putting in what buttons are pressed at each frame? From there, you could just simply load up the demo file and see how it works. Of course, this would require a lot of redoing and re-watching the WIP, but I would much rather be doing this than playing slowly and just redoing sections. I'm aware of hex editing, but is there a simple program that makes doing this much more user-friendly? No crazy re-recording or absolutely taking apart a demo file, just simply inputting what is pressed at each frame. I suppose the problem would be manipulating luck though, and such. Any comments, suggestions and help is appreciated.

Hello. Sorry if this is in the wrong section by the way. I've been "lurking" as they call it, here for 2 years, and am a fan of TAS videos. So I figured that I would start. Basically, I'm asking where I should start, what I need and a brief explanation of how TAS' are made. I'm probably going to start easy with say Pokemon or Super Mario Bros, just to get the hang around making them. I'm highly knowledgeable and persistent when it comes to games, so I think I would be able to make some decent TAS videos, but I just need some practice and somewhere to start. Links or information about TASing would be greatly appreciated. I'm going to start with just NES for now, so I assume I would need the correct emulator? For emulators I have used Project 64, RockNESx and VBA, all of which I believe can't be used for TASing. Thanks in advanced.
