So, uh, what's the point of TASing this version if it's nearly identical to the original? It's a fine enough TAS, but it's completely pointless. No vote.

I liked this run a lot. Was a lot of fun. But I don't feel it offers enough changes to warrant publication. It would be equivalent to publishing a run of the original game with cheats, in my eyes. Voting No, sorry.

Voting No. This hack doesn't bring anything that new to the table, except for different sprites.

Yes star, by far. We would mar this run by far without a star. Dbhdgfdrjtes

So, an explanation as to why I've stopped working on this...again. A few things were found recently, which haven't been detailed here. 1) Item Hopping - Using an item to jump again. It's done by using an item right as you jump. Once the item animation ends, you have a frame to jump again. This can be done over and over, or until you run out of items. This can be used to skip the high cliff blocking you from Marceline's Cave, and thus skip the entire Band Bug sidequest. This can also skip the Marauder boss fight, although that does block off the Parachute forever. Item hopping can replace it. 2) Sliding - I initially thought this ability had no uses, due to the downtime after you slide. However, if you slide off any surface, it'll interrupt that downtime and save frames. This can be used EVERYWHERE that there's some sort of elevation change. So therefore, a new route needs to be created that collects as many items as possible. Due to the new sliding trick, it'll have to be done from scratch.

That just would feel so unfair... I mean, are you sure it's a good idea to make a new publishable platform for just one game? It feels like it could be a waste of platform for one game that runs either in a DOS or Windows platform. D:
We did it for the Commodore 64, and that's not even accepted on the site quite yet :p

I personally think it should be combined into a singular thing. Sure, it kind of goes against the normal conventions of a TASing platform, as they're three completely different emulators. But to me, it seems a bit silly to segregate three different emulators that accomplish different ways of the same thing, which is to TAS PC based games. As long as its specified what clearly what emulator to use for each (http://tasvideos.org/EmulatorResources.html < here or whatever) I don't see an issue.

Why the pause buffering before entering Clock Town?
It's an old trick that was discovered after the first TAS. It basically skips the HMS from talking to you the first time. Link to video Basically, it takes 2 frames for the HMS to start, but pausing resets that. Therefore you can keep pausing to skip it, as pausing lets you advance the game a frame at a time. Edit: Oh yeah, super hyped for this TAS. Forgot to say that. So...yeah. Keep reading the topic or whatever.

Indeed, works fine for that boss fight too. Most certainly any such rocks can drop a detonator. Meaning the one in level two as well, lol. Oh well.
You mean the first platformer level? Dang, lol. I didn't think they would have that in. I'll go ahead and see what I can do from the frog fight then.

How about a glitched 100% run? Would certainly keep it interesting.

http://tasvideos.org/userfiles/info/21612468666805986 Redid everything from the end of Jabba's Palace. Saved another 11 seconds, mainly from the boss fights. Edit: so many screenshots, so little time...
