Like you already sayd, all those versions you are using have the same core, so thats pretty logic they all have graphic glitchs. I would suggest to mess around the options on gpu, with a no-rr version of pcsx. (svn build should be good for that purpose) Ill try to give a word about this to zeromus but dont except anything back, pcsx is far from sexy emu to work with so its more an hassle for him than a good experience.

As far as i can tell, the next version doesnt have cd support, maybe old plugins work, i didnt bothered testing that and the option is "closed" right now (to be more clear, you can only use iso on latest revisions). Making an iso takes 5min btw and theres tonnes of software around the net that will do the job automaticly for you. Edit: AFAIK, pcejin doesnt support cd drive as well, so theres nothing fancy here

This movie was pretty cool to watch, voting yes. Compared to nes mario, imo, this is way more cute, colorfull and funny. The only con i think is the sound when you roll in air, but thats realy minor issue compared to some other games.

What about to do Super Back To Future II on snes (jap only) ? Even the nerd sayd it was good :p Controls are likely to be tas friendly (you seem to be always on the skateboard and have good speed), graphics and musics are cool, realy i dont know why you picked up the nes shitty version :D

Christopher actually moves fairly quickly when there's nothing else on the screen (no candles).
I realy wish it would be that simple, but its not, sadly, the lag in this game is way more chaotic. If you simply destroy the 2 candles and the monster right at the start of the game, then move back and stop, ok theres no more lag... but... Anything Christopher does will lag the game, by that i mean walking, climbing ropes, jumping, using the whip ect... In the autoscroller theres not a single candle, and ennemys are dieing right when they spawn (obviously they do generate lag here, but they dont stay enought long on screen anyway so they are not the main lag cause). The problem is the lag doesnt come from one single thing, its always an accumulation of several lag sources. Also, you dont get crippled until the lag reach a high ratio, what i mean is often little lag doesnt slow you down.

seeing from the submission text and the previous replies, very little effort was put on minimizing lag.
Very little effort indeed, only ~50% of the lag was removed. (10'000 frames) The whole movie is about reducing lag, maybe you missed the point, anyway. Edit: Fair enought, p4wn3r TheAxeMan, i meant while doing run i didnt had your file to compare with (i tryed to ask others around irc but nobody kept it), im sorry, maybe i should have posted in the forum, the topic was so old i felt like it would be pointless necro posting, i was wrong apparently. Also klmz told me something about the sgb version is konami collection 3 or 4, im not the pro on this matter, i just know its gbc, its the original but just with colors, now dont ask me why theres less lag, its realy small differences (we speak about a couple of frames here on a 300 frames test).

Mugg: i didnt asked you anything beside tasing this with me, you sayd no (after saying yes and no 40 times already), seriously i dont want to tas anything again with you, your just painfull, you keep talking to say nothing in that post, and in the end you didnt even voted, your a waste, no wonder you have no team submission, its too annoying to try anything with you. Thank you for that long whinning post, was exactly what i needed to decide not ever working with you, oh and btw, no need to try to be sry, obviously you are not. Maybe im arrogant but you are an asshole, i didnt asked you anything about mem search or making a lua, you just made it without asking me anyway. And about your bs on mario land, you told me 50 times no need for me to wait you, that you would not tas castlevania. SirVG: even tho those 2 rooms look identical, timings on plateforms are apparently different, i timed both method in each rooms, somehow in first was faster to wait it to rise, then in next room it wasnt. (we speak of about 20 frames differences here) Acheron86: Your question is basicly, is this super play, all i can answer is yes it is superplay. Try yourself the game, if you beat stage1 without loosing a life your definitly good, average gamer dont go over the 3rd room. This game is hard, it doesnt look hard maybe, but the lag prevent smooth jumping or aiming (real time i mean), its a frustrating game. My reasoning was that in the first place, the older run wasnt rejected for bad game choice, instead for been sloppy run, i tryed to correct this. (and it was quite easy to do better) Now if your question was rather, does the game is good ? no, its not, i think its the worse castlevania available on consoles aside maybe from haunted castle msx. Yet its still castlevania, and "Kudos on your quest to kill dracula in all incarnations on all systems" is just correct, i love castlevania, i feel compel to do them all, especially this one, because no one else made a better run in 4 years now. I did richter on saturn sotn, didnt was that much of an issue to get it rejected for bad game choice, ill live :p If this is rejected for bad game choice, its allright, but i think technically the run "now" (as opposed to previous rejected runs) is warrant publication. TheAxeMan: the places you point out are "low" floor ropes, you cant jump them, well when i tested it wasnt faster than just walking down, i dont remember testing subpixels on thoses ones but well, maybe it can be done better if you say it. I wasnt able to get your test run to compare it, since the link give a 404 (in the old topic in gb forum). Like i sayd in submission, the reasons for gbc version is there is less lag and also the game look way better in color, alltho the lag difference is not "that" large, this one still lag a lot dont worry. I realy dont understand the point in running a more laggy version.

I feel sorry to vote no, i like your movies generaly, but that one i couldnt watch more than 10min, i forced myself to watch near the end (to see the second part a bit), to me this is not super play, this is super boring.

Removed "Uses warps" as it seems more like a non-warp glitch.
It is actually not a glitch, but i dont see how to explain it better than "warp" This is exactly like the warp zone in mario, the difference been how you access to the warps, in this game its just about to beat the boss without taking damage, if you take damage, the "warp" will not activate (i tested this, the flying kick is just a regular move, theres nothing special about it, just meet conditions with previous boss sequence). The reason it doesnt work on stage1 is obviously because i havent beated a boss yet :D If you have a better word than warp then tell me, "shortcut" didnt seemed adequate to me (i thinked twice before using that word)

Voting meh to this movie, ill pass the technical details and just trow in it would have been better with 2p (and same goals), maybe with more efforts this kind of run could be published, with 2p at least it will increase a lot the dodging and obviously reduce bosses length.

Voting no, this joke is getting old now, stop doing single track tas, it doesnt beat the game, and the concepts demos are something of an older age. Good exemple of quick rejection needed here, theres absolutly ZERO point in letting this taking dust in the workbench, aside from either spliting on the author because he obviously didnt followed the rules, or have fans trowing all theirs flowers, this could have been done in the forum instead workbench.

I watched this on the forum, before it was submited, im not experimented at all in OoT tasing, but i saw precedent movies, i would have hard to determine exactly what save time or not, given the complexity of bottle adult vs kid, nor i can see the 6 vs 5 cycles on ganon ect... Anyway, major style point for bomb face ocarina, z view speedups, and all others things that make this tas VERY funky and entertaining. I guess we have a winner for n64 award already ;) Congratulations !

You dont need to hit him in the head (this is some old stupid folklore), it doesnt matter what part you are stricking, he can still get stuck with the correct timing hitting in legs, i done that numerous times. This boss is NO challenge whatever the rules you put in, i can beat it in less 200 frames with the exact same strategy than dracula. And like for ALL others boss, his dieing sequence (+ open the door) take WAY longer than just skiping him, basicly its a pointless boss like most others. You can get near his head later on the fight too, and doesnt require the bat, you can do it with just a super jump once he start to shoot fireball (just time it correctly near the end) or just fly with mist. Ah, and knife crash is richter only also :p (richter can just airdash his ass without any trouble, this is NOT anywhere near entertaining, just lame)

backdash, shield - repeat. youll have to watch the movie and the ~ 20 frames input, its weird how to entry the name (quickly), i recommand to use taseditor to view things like that, its on pcsx-rr download list. x(hold), up, backward-up, backward, backward-down, down, forward down, forward, x (release) to extend duration simply reinput the motion (before you get back to alucard, obviously). hard to answer when theres no real question :p some lua script that display some ram watch : http://code.google.com/p/arukado-tas/source/browse/trunk/Projects/PSX/SOTN/SOTN.lua also, very good faq here : http://www.gamefaqs.com/ps/196885-castlevania-symphony-of-the-night/faqs/3789
