I'm curious about this as well. What is this BIOS, how does it differ from the usual BIOS, and should it be permissible?
You are the one to answer this :p

Also, is the RE1 hack confirmed to be moot?
Yeah, its not needed nor effective, he sayd it fix the music (for encoding i assume) but realy when you check that box nothing is happening (and nothing should ever happen...) If a hack is active, you see it on the movie submision

Theres one in the pipes, its for next year tough, its nowhere near complete. (ghosts are going to be great help for obsoletion, now) Here a little video that compare both movies using amaurea script (converted by gocha) http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=N9N4ww8k3bY

Its not realy even the matter if they are easly ignored or not, the question is rather how does x2 no vote unexplained and silmultaneous on 17/18 movies in the bench contribute in any sort, i think trolls are never something good to have around, regardless how harmless (or not) they are. I guess having the option to turn (certain) peoples vote off will be good at some point

Right, i had to stop hitting him in order to let him start the "flame trower" sequence, ill try to cover improvements in details tomorow. Note that the mechanism to start the wings crush is based on dracula hp (very "sensitive" btw), 3333>1666>888HP are the value that trigger the start of the wings, once he finish his current attack cycle, he will (instantly) switch to wings. This was unexcepted improvement, in 9.2 im slower somehow (i tryed this tactic...) and i couldnt smatch him 900hp (im assuming lag wasnt helping for that matter...). I can admit a lack of creativity here, i could have dance pretty much during pause, tbh, it was troublesome to get here to say the least and i just took care to have him lowest hp possible (around 900), blame some lazyness from me on the ending (this somewhat happen often to me Oho, bad habbit!)

I have updated the download package with a ghost dumped from old movie trought 9.2+ for those whilling to toy around or just simply compare. It is not yet possible to encode this, so in the meanwhile you have to play it yourself, youll need DeSmuME 9.5(~?)+, be sure to follow this instructions to "upgrade" your desmume with gb library too. Simply decompress PoR_1.1.zip then play the movie (2514S) and start the vs[1293M].lua Note: the script "sync" at each room changes, since you dont change room at dracula... no update... also it seem sometime the ghost "cheat" a little :p (remember this is very experimental at this point, no money will be refund!) Ah yes also, ill try to fix soon the submision text, its bad right now and not much informative on improvements, the final sword one was edited Edit: after some testings with lua, 2514S beat 2514S, yeah the ghosts are still very very very experimental ^^

Had to stop after 11min of watching, im nearly feeling like sick (weed probably doesnt help), my head hurt because of the music, the game is terrible to say the least and i dont know what you was thinking but watching a guy walk for 1 hour is way too much boring, with such graphics and annoying music So ok, i tought you lied honnestly about luck manipulation, apparently you didnt, its very good technicaly to be able to skip every fights, yet, you totaly failed at entertaining your public, also, severe glitches? none in the 1/6 of the movie i saw (and anyway i dont care if theres latter on) If you had skip the whole game with a glitch, and that it would be less than 20min of walking, i would have vote yes, yet this is too much for me Meh vote due to the lack of any entertainement, great effort in luck manipulation apparently tought

the last bossfight looked kinda weird. Why was it useful to kill off Bimmy during that fight?
It wasnt usefull, the boss is very hard to hit, he keep jumping around like a retard (while invisible) and i wasnt able to hit him with both character, or at least damage didnt register for both, he have ridiculously high invulnerability timers. Edit: added youtube Edit2: another remark, bimmy is low hp because jimmy kick him before the boss fight (the bar is shit dont look too much at it), and he die simply because i dont control him much and dont avoid boss damage, probably a lack of creativity here, i can agree, this game was a nightmare to tas for me as its my first time with 2players, also, dont mind much my bad explanation on the bug, ill have to fix latter the text (and of the many other submissions i have lol)

Yeah, skiping the rafting sequence by taking Carmilla in stage4 instead 4' was no brainer to me, youll win some time over the last run forcably i think using that "trick" (if it can be considered as one, heh)

The downside is that it does create an unfair comparison to the speed run since it is forced to beat Dracula before going to 5' and finishing at Stage 6.
Those cant be compared imo, your run does use dirty sram witch allow to skip the whole intro, so the times are not very revelants, i guess Also doing what we did imply you getting a higher timer, most likely, even if we shortcut stage5' we force ourselves to use richter at end and have extra reset, on the bright side no autoscroller tought (no rafting sequence in 4' to get to carmilla) (well anyway your run is good, not saying this to look like an ass, just trying to be objective on comparing runs)

It's amazing how such a well polished movie can still look so clunky (entirely the games fault, obviously).

You made 2 good observations, that we dont realy have answer about Basicly adelikat did tased this part and (possibly) overlooked both those points 1-Im not sure what subweapon you can get at this point to be honnest, theres a skeleton that drop me an axe on richter movie, but, i have to say i was very lucky on that one, it might not be possible if it require a drop (if its in a candle then nvm what i sayd), it is likely with a good subweapon its faster, yet i cant realy affirm it without a real test 2-That idea wasnt tested, and i have to admit i totaly forgot you could do that, in term of loading its very hard to predict witch outcome is the best, it require a testing to be sure Anyway, thx for pointing this out For the stage code, there was no way around it while choosing to beat dracula only 1 time, having 100% and watch richter (full) ending alltogether Note that we only use it to access early stage5' witch doesnt have boss or girls to save, and after beating all others stages, so overall i dont fell we abused it at all We could have go first up to stage8 then reset, yet for simplicity in stage order, 1>5>1>5'>8 seemed less confuse than 1>8>1>5'>8 (this is arguably arbitrary)

with full game libraries.
37 apparently for 32X, thats not what i would call "heavy", 7 only on supergrafx Hardware wise to make it short, x4 ram x2gpu (allow 2 backgrounds) Now theres also arcade cards, with a much wider library, technicaly its just more ram, yet, the changes are much more notable than for a sgx game (like granzort...)

You need like 400 posts to activate the option to choose avatar mood, in there you can have no avatar option (that work), i think the regular option doesnt work

We had already a few icons around to make tests, anyway thanks for that pic (2 post above), i was missing a few from that set somehow :p I think adelikat didnt posted those yet, because, hes on the process to implement awards, so far the ones he got are enought to start dealing with the site code, and from what i could understand on how it will work, voting for pics become somewhat secondary right now, it shouldnt be a problem to add more or change somes latter, i assume once he got something working and stable, he will do another round for choosing exactly what pics to display Note that anyway im not a graphist and i just have limited skills with photoshop, so i dont except them to forcably stay in there, the idea was just to quickly provide a set so they can move on the code, a "expert" should be able to do better on resolution and quality of the trophies

This seemed pretty well executed, i never played that game, the run was very fun, and there was many ackward moments, some zipping/warping too, voted yes, good job I just wonder but at some point (london?) you climb many many many times and at the top you just jump on the outside and fall all way down? that was a bug or its what your suppose to do? pretty mindblowing game, poor coding i think :p

For psx maybe alucard more suited than richter ? Both are bad ass anyway, yet i believe mini systems icons are more suited I just figured, but on the pedestal, it need to say 08 or 2008 or whatever the date is tied with the trophy itself (doesnt need to be "huge" just tiny numbers), i think :p

You wont have a nec equivalent of mario or sonic, i like the idea of Raiscan, having a miniature icon of the system itself sound nice

Because it is not constructive imo to make a new release that claim to be recording movie while they obviously didnt tested making movies with it, im glad they removed lags ect... and that the main branch is improving, but next time instead of wasting our time, dont put the movie recording feature if its not tested, klmz pointed out the most obvious bug, yet, im not in the mood to track down bugs, a simple warming and recommand using instead 9.4+ (since it remove most lags, and is stable, see some run here) would have been nice Its not like for 9.2 where everything was experimental, i would have tought an update like that would not retrograde on stability, not that much at least
