Other option might be to kill an harpy on your way, witch could save some troubles for jumping on gears Trough axe it might also be possible to kill the fleaman that toss you after you get double jump, if timing allow it

Since you cant make a cutscene proceed automaticly (need to push A for eatch line of dialogue), it mean youll press start to skip it For short the TAS would beat sisters and directly show a game over screen ... no way i would do such movie Thanks for clearing up about the credits roll Serris ;)

the last two portraits in the staff scroll were totally blank..... So you only got a good ending, but not the best.
There is also vincent to cure (in the dialogue hes running around and ask to get cured, see test run linked in submition) I guess this is needed toward "best ending" but its probably time wasted to cast cure on him Edit: for some reasons i just remembered that in sotn you need 195%+ map to get best ending This would be a glitch fest/war run actually :p Since you can generate white rooms outside the castle and register them as normal ones, it mean you can do it without all "blue" rooms LoL :D To get 420% sure it take forever, but theres a LOT of rooms that can be registred without even using an heart refresh, like the chapel stairs or third outerwall :p This way for exemple you could save exploring the catacombs Interresting....

It work for me too (i mean the ranges script for mednafen) Just as a sidenote but 12seconds to perform a search sound like "long" to me, maybe the range was too big ? :p Either way, thanks, now i can have ram watch for that emulator

All that stuff with anti-sequence break is amazing, simply, castlevania turned out gay, and deeply, from level design to story and now coding Castlevania as so much be ripped off its boudary its getting ridiculous Great job IGA, the best exemple is the library boss... its a clown that use bomberman gameplay element... !?! Seriously someone should kick him for blasphemy at konami, for 3D games they have an excuse but here its pathetic And yeah its pretty much correct, with max stat you get ridiculous timer on boss rush This probably mean someone will need to make a bot to farm holy attribute :p

Not for nothing... for beating the game..! its the end boss... Last save room would be good in sotn then, since it just update the mem card who care No seriously, that why the primary is "beat the damn game", if you remove that, its open to any silly interpretation on what is beating a game About chaos serris: no the point is you can load the staff credits without fighting the boss at all, simply by warping under the castle, but even in this kind of case, its still like you beated game Unlock richter + maria ... hum... took from gfaq just now "Richter Mode is unlocked by beating Richter (named Whip's Memory) in Jonathan Mode, then get the good ending by killing True Dracula" Fail, need to kill dracula anyway :p I wonder if its not possible to SG in the room with portrait going to richter and even skip totaly sisters, in witch case, well sisters are pretty much the most useless shit in the whole game and surely shall not be beaten I think im going to do a boss rush if this get accepted, i will need to get some items, and ill probably try to unlock also all others modes by the same time

Well, on another hand, im also ok about massive giltching that allow to skip boss for exemple, even if its the last one (thinking about AoS right now) But at least, you realy get the ending in that case, with staff credits, unlock boss rush ect... Its still like you would have beat the game Even if its trough warping means Ending at sisters doesnt beat the game, at all

Actually pirate, sisters are not even a bad ending, you dont get back to begin by killing em nor unlock NG+ Nope, you just get back in keep at your previous save, the game is not updated or anything, its game over basicly Honnestly i still dont understand whats your point, whe dont kill richter in sotn but dracula, and that have nothing to do with their "position" been near or far from eatch other, what if there wasnt 2 castles? and anyway your argument generaly been speed, richter should be end of sotn too then Im somewhat ok you dont like dracula, i can agree maybe hes not super bad ass like he should be and that crappy attack is lame, tought, does it mean i need to ruin my movie by obtaining a lame ending... i dont think so Looking at articles on how to make movies, its clearly stated you should be doing best ending hardest difficulty ect... Its realy a subjective point of view to say gameover is a superplay, best ending is superplay without any doubts tought Taking the sisters as end point is realy the lamest option of all imo

I have a question for you mz How do you know the resident evil 3 fix is need in re2, do you have tested it? If so, does the fix is required the same way than for re3, as in, use in doors transitions for preventing infinite loop? Another little thing worthy, i already asked but never had answer i think Is it possible when you replay a file to show like any other input the hack keys? This way you can review easier, in resident evil case, the good thing is just by paying a bit attention, you would spot a hack hotkey outside of door transition (where they should only belong to) This is good for both player and judge, you can easly make an error and activate key where its not needed

Thx for encode Never played nor knew that game, alltought, you seem to have done a pretty good job at speedrunning it After few floors, it appeared clear to me your not suppose to travel this fast without encountering battles and stuff on your way, even i dont know that game it seem obvious you manipulated it nicely So its a yes vote me, despite the huge 3min intro on a 10min movie, it was quite funny to see this guy just running the hell on floors Boss dialogue (with slide show) was somewhat cool, the fight was realy super short tought, wth happened? :p

If you do come by and "proove" im a arrogant asshole i guess its a good thing, and ill change my mind, regardless its about lvl2 or something else My point here just been 10 seconds improvement from atma seems a lot, if you save 10 seconds more over atma and get lvl2, then i must admit that your good taser :p Doing something that just "improve" like you say, is fine to me lol On the bright side, hearing you take this (complains) the right way, should be oki i think Now unlike atma, i didnt at all touched this game, assisted wise, so im not of any help, its just the zombie is realy so obvious (that i directly saw it), i had to push that argument forward and globalize it for the sake to say "your not going the right way with first wip" :D If i where you i would follow his advice, IRC is generaly good to discuss because you dont need to post wall of text and wait 3 days, now i dont blame you if your not able to do so, its just if you want to maximize help, thats the best/fastest way to communicate About entertainement trades: i guess its ok, but personnaly, i would skip that stupid book, doesnt matter to see names on screens, imo About the route: are you 100% sure its required to get the heart upgrade in monastory? its such a big detour, meh, you would save considerable time by just skiping it (or swaping for a nearest-one-on-road later on the run?)

Yeah with a 3go cpu, no$gba will play fluid PoR, laggy area are still there tought even if you cant notice it, i mean basicly 3D engine is more "stress" in those parts of the game, so if you got enought powa you wont notice it on real time, also i doubt you can bash your pad at 60fps real time so it wouldnt be a trouble The next build of official desmume branch will hopefully have a more solid 3D engine, witch mean outdating this movie as well, considering the large ammount of lag (over 10% of the movie is lag, mainly from save room/shop) Notice it would also outdate a hypothetic final sword movie, especially considering the final guard is extremly lagging since its all in 3D (and require 50 hits...)

This is probably why there is for (almost) all castlevania runs (as well metroid ect...) different category, generaly warp and warpless, glitchfull and glitchless, 100% ect... This wasnt aiming at 100% and was aiming at pure speed, you saying it was too fast mean the goal is achieve, im sad it doesnt comply with your "standarts", but at i least i didnt failed mines In my standarts, a 100% run can end up very boring regard to the time spent toward it, 9000 times more boring yeah :p Edit: i already mentioned it, but for the sake of this argument, a 100% run will ALSO use the shop trick, and at least spend as much time as i do

The emulator's timing is accurate by no means. It generates ridiculous amount of lags which don't exist on the real hardware at all.
In no$gba you get same lags, alltought, since its probly a bit better written 3D engine, if you got a fast computer, youll never notice it for real in no$gba Alltought i have a fast comp, i noticed under no$gba lags too, and they are exactly the same one here with desmume Main exemple are : the keep, save rooms, the shop, darts ect... ect...

Catastrophe, atma movie sync fine, beside, you can watch the encode... Atma: ill try to take the arrogant asshole role then i guess :p About zombie hit, yeah, honnestly, you look like a noob getting hit backward with zombie, theres NO excuses at all for this one, not any, no matter how hard you try to explain it, theres no excuses, it was ridiculous and laughtable Cant tell me you have no choice but to get toss backward, you can jump and get hit on the other side, and you cant loose time since you get backdward toss in the other case! Even considering invulnerability, its impossible you go faster Art argument is no more apropriate than my lame comment, who care, whe are doing speedruns right? just do it the fastest way... cant believe theres now a art argument in there... while at first you was speaking of how optimized you want this run to be... sound like resignation over atma movie If you havent already watched the encode (it cant desync...), watch it and youll see getting lvl2 is a waste, youll also see how movements can be improved If you realy need to see it from desmume (not sure why, since you sayd you cant replay .... you own file ... reliably or full speed or whatever prevented you to see that impossible to miss error with zombie), you probably didnt make it "clean" like you sayd, just be sure to delete the .savmovie to clear sram (near rom), check that you have the latest build too (08/05), clearing states is safer too

You know i have to admit im nearly having the same opinion than you Tub, but im apparently seeing it more optimist than you, and also i like the game and played it several time You got a point saying warps and shopping are long, i agree But seriously, a speedrun is not about showing the best part of a game, its about speed, that what i aimed at Despite been long, those warps and shopping parts are saving, a lot of time The warpless run will be a lot longer, and will abuse the same way the shop, so forcably, you have to agree it wasnt "a choice" if you aim for speed, i was forced to do those "lame and long" parts (and i realy aimed at them been the fastest possible, i have only 50$ left at the end lol) I dont pretend the run to be glitchfest, i sayd the engine was glitchfest and probly the warpless run will show more of em Now bottom line anyway, there is 3 DS castlevania games, and this one the most glitchy in term of warping
