Will depend on what realy work to manipulate rng or not, for exemple, if whe need to extra save at final guard (lets imagine whe are forced for manipulate), its rather 1000 frames

Thanks that was my main point submiting this run I could do this in about 3 weeks, i know the game well, and i optimized like i could Now the rng whoring is another thing, it doesnt relay on my skill to optimize movement or battles, its just unpleasant at best for me And im forced to notice that PoR have the WORST rng of all (recent at least) castlevania games, they went on crack on this one This lead me to believe it could take 3 month to drop the sword, and not fighting to win frames to optimize my run, just playing around with rng, witch sux imo, so i leave this painfull task for later, and now i submit this, witch is in my range of abilitys :D Also its probably much more entertaining than the final sword upcoming movie, despite the big warp and money trick, i kill Astarte pretty good for exemple and its funny :p Dracula with 26 damage gonna be much less funny, i can assure you, and wont beat by like 5min this submition, i doubt (more wings, bats ect...)

The only trouble is i cant hex edit this, it would change some frame rules in sandy grave or elsewhere, spawn position mainly If this realy make it trough and get published, i will consider working more on PoR warpfull run (i let warpless to klmz), for final sword eventually, if i find some time for it, and ill include all those small stuff (mute voices, draw tasvideo.org ect...)

I founded out (too late) you can mute voice :/ But this assume wasting time in menu I could have draw also tasvideo.org in the little picture, but well About alterning voices i thinked about it yes, not sure why i sticked to jap lol, probly because a jap rom based run wouldnt be accepted Next time i alternate, or maybe klmz can do that too ;) I think the final sword will outcome this route, given youll be able to reproduce nearly same fight than this movie thanks to sword double jump, just slightly longer to achieve (still writting up the submition, will include this route)

No indeed, it just add a new Castlevania game, there is 3 on DS, and they will all get tased Like mario or sonic ect... I think klmz is already doing the warpless run :p You cant be impressed anyway after watching a 30 second run with maxim, but well, i think this one is not bad

I improved test run just a bit more than 1 min, but on a 12min run thats around 10% so i think its good :p If it wasnt for those damn scripted wings attack, i would go slightly faster but well, seem its unavoidable The last blow occur around 8 min in game time, then with saving ect it gets to 8:16 *currently upgrading submition text*

Im still in the process of redacting the submition text, this come at last so you cant see it already :p The answer is no, i tryed realy to fuck around with him, he can self cancel action and just do the wings Its barely noticable, but i actually do wait, this is after the first wing attack, pay attention and youll see i stop to hit him at some point, witch allow him to use the flametrower What trigger wing attack is simply his HP, 3333, 1666 then 888 and its unavoidable past 1000HP, he will use it regardless, so even if i can trigger flametrower, i wont be able to draw him 1666 within this attack Maybe i should have manipulated so his last attack was not flametrower, so it would have remove some lag, but well, no turning back now :p

You mean in the second room? Im near sure i tested that, what i didnt tested tought was pirate idea: use partner jump before even the bridge completly open I need to check on it and if revelant put it in optimization in the submition And yeah i think dracula now is very optimized :p That extra jump from sword is ridiculously efficient against death Shame its impossible to get less than 3 wings attack from true dracula, but well, its already fast enought i think :p

Thx all for good feedback, ill try to answer a few klmz : i didnt forget anybody, i submited before i went to sleep, theres a tonnes more to explain in the submition, so i could not write "credits" already, plz be patient, tomorow it will be already much more complete :p I tought it was more cool to post directly the dsm rather than to wait a complete submition text (witch can take me a while to redact) Acheron86: yes sorry, you took the good rom name, i typed POR because of lazyness on my part (and also i was realy tired) About speed, i tryed my best, i calculated partner backdash is the most efficient by scripting the gigantic warp corridor, i know this pattern "win the race" over 4, 6 or more blanks, honnestly all in all, i didnt even tought i could go that fast with partner backdash, the game is wanting you to be slow (until you get speedup spell at least) Wings (fingers...) attack from true dracula have separate HP, basicly, if you pay attention, this part is played *almost* real time, i dont do it seriously (ultra optimized i mean) because its useless and doesnt help I tryed (lot of stuffs) to manipulate true dracula in order to shorten number of wings attacks, theres no way around, the game want him to cast it 3 times, and its in regard of his current hps (first is at 3333 then 1666 then 888), no matter how hard i try to "lurk" him into different pattern, he can cancel right away his move and do wings Even the flametrower attack lenght is not enought to drive him to 0 from 1666 (he will simply just do one side and stop) Ok so im going to refine more the submition text (including the final sword story) and make encode to put over youtube (im director), but dont feel in a hurry guys, im doing like i can :D

Ive searched 4 bits :( Thx, it was usefull to have a watch on their hp, the battle took me like 8000 rerecord lol I end up 11:38 and about 8:03 in game time, witch is around 1 min better than my test run, alltought, now im 50% faster than serris (realtime) :D

Well, the sucubus glitch doesnt allow "that" much sequence breaking, you still need to do a good portion of the game even if your using it But i agree, there should be place for runs with and without sucubus glitch

The movie did desync for me too, on second watch Its because there is a trouble with you .sav file (sram), delete them (near rom) and then it will work back again On another hand, there was already an encode... and its not just stylus matter on start screen (witch is obviously the less important and smallest improvement) Overall your wip movie was looking sloopy to me (at least monastory), damage received wasnt handled correctly, fighting tonnes of monsters, atma movie looks more optimized, i hope you will get inspired from it, good luck with this :D

I heal with the 2 potions and its suffisant for now :p Edit:Oho I founded that after switching to charlotte from a strike with holy claymore (i assume any long sword) you can gain an extra jump ! :p I was fighting dracula when i founded this, so i need to backtrack 2 rooms before last SG to get advantage of this over the "classic" partner doublejump, but wow, now it make the dracula fight much much much more funny, i litteraly fly around haha Note: they are not "stackable", you get only 1 extra jump, but, switching over and over, you seem to be in a kind of hoover mode, the gravity is realy affected like you would jumping on the moon :D

I dont know for sure, from what i experimented it seem the time doesnt matter (10 or 50 frames latter produce same drop), not sure about ennemy type producing different results tough Edit: i didnt had rng address by the time i tested, its realy hard to tell ...

I think it will need to play around with timed SG, when you suspend game obviously you roll the rng About ennemys: in the run i made, i calculated exp, result is that you must kill all nurse in the main corridor before SG to throne room (corridor between first and second boss), you cant afford to skip even one of em, or else you would loose a lvlup In the begin there is 1 bat, 4 zombies, 2 skeleton and 1 axe armor available, those i dont kill em Bats seem to have no effect, i didnt tryed zombies or skeleton, either way, its realy tight I think the solution will be to suspend again before the final guard and wait frames until game let you get the sword, or waste time when you start game from keep Its not impossible, it just require very boring work on manipulating the rng, witch isnt fun at all, considering also that after this, you still have a epic battle to do (witch could fail at been faster btw, if manipulating cost too much time), its far from been ok as whe speak Well, im about to reach holy claymore on my last attempt, engaging dracula tonight Just to tease up, im beating Astarte in 15 seconds now :p counting 2x menu access for tonics

Neither is true, only way to make the RNG advance is to kill an ennemy that drop something (killing an "empty" doesnt seem to advance it) I tryed also to wait for thousand of frames (no joke), it wont advance... Still, its pretty certain youll see a lot of people complaining i took a "suboptimal" route, while its nearly impossible to get that idiot sword Edit: About the money in candles, it seem to be fixed when you enter in room (like drops actually)

This run is not bad, but near all that is before segment 12 is basicly satoryu run, the glitching with black panther ect... was nice, sadly whe cant see what happen on map exactly :p I guess a real tas will be under 20 min rather than 25min, well, theres a large portion of his run that is done without backdashing at all but just slowly walking

The final sword have a way lower damage, but the ammount of sequence break generated by this route will overcome the holy claymore, probably (impossible to exactly tell since its not clear how long it would take to drop the sword) And its not just "me" , want the file? i dare anybody to drop it (i say dare hoping some people just rage in and drop the sword for me) Now on another hand, i have a near done and perfect holy claymore run... guess what... from listening to you... its better to have no run Yeah its better to have no run... lets say that if your pleased that way

I hope to get published, simply because my run is getting now very optimized I have another movie, ready for final sword, i cant drop it... whatsoever This need rng pros like pirate, i cant do that Instead of waiting unknow time for a route that is eventually faster, i perfect this one first, because that something i can do I think it can go faster because of the drop, i cant do the drop, bottom line for me it mean holy claymore goes faster as whe speak I will of course submit it as "doesnt manipulate luck" since i dont do such Unlike NSMB run, its not "know" to be better, its just assumptions, since i cant drop the sword (or at least require huge ammount of manipulation, por been the worst rng of cvs i believe) I just know by looking at damage and the average time it take to swing sword, it would be faster If it take 20 min to drop the sword, no way it can be faster... so in the end just assumptions

For short its boring to see someone gathering just %%% Also, armor need NG+ somehow, you cant do that from fresh SRAM So this mean, it would be smarter to use the glitch that give you back all %% and all hp ect...

Muhaha, very funny Actually theres no real treat from me restarting, since im still doing holy claymore route, and i can already tell the final sword gonna be faster Im just trying to make something good, so the judges cant say "hei, you didnt worked enought on it" I believe its done in 2 days at worst, i would have release this weekend if it wasnt for the menu optimizations (stylus in menus realy is worthy)
