Btw, anybody know why the site parser went crazy with this movie ? Ive checked, theres no control bit used in the movie (so I dunno how he find all those frames...), and anyway spu irq hack isnt active anymore in psxjin format, wth happened ? Theres not even a dirty sram so really got no idea why it did that.

The Undertaker hasnt fighted for a whole year from what i understood, yet man he take a bunch of chair's hits, felt a bit like grandpa fight tho, he had a scary face with his hair cut. There was still a bit of epicness in there tho, and they fighted for like 30min. The opening and team match was ridiculous. Cena vs The Rock was pretty epic, im curious to see the next raw actually now. (its delayed by 2 weeks here... when I dont forget to watch it lol)

Thats exactly what i underlined and what warp sayd, the point was, you can be loonely and happy or not depressive, either way it doesnt forcably provide the "tools" to avoid social loonelyness; its a vicious circle.

@Warp: I don't mean this in a demeaning way, but there are programs on being right vs. being happy. Their message is you have to give up on trying to be right/correct all the time in order to become happy. You might be interested in some of that. I realize it might be difficult to stop trying to be right in case that's currently your main source of interaction with people. I'll also tell you a story about how to catch and tame an elephant. You tie it to a tree with a rope and wait for it to try to escape for a few weeks. After that time it'll stop trying, you can then remove the rope and it'll never try again, even if the rope that tied it to the tree has long been gone.
There are drugs (remedies i mean) anyway that can do that job for you, youll stop to be depressive or obsessive ect... But the thing is, like warp mentioned, those "skills" arent available to everybody, been happy doesnt forcably naturally grant them either, its rare your "family" or "friends" would sufficiently care/have the mean to help you with that, or understand it.

I urge the staff of Tasvideos to be brave, true and screw the rules.
Your main issue is you dont understand that if you got a good case, rules can be dodged, they arent there to restrict you, but to define a general direction. This site is maintained by volunters, they dont want to host a speedrun of every games made but instead take only the "bests". (for now at least) Its their choice and you cant blame them if they dont want to code a whole new site just for you (or even of others) tastes. Your whole reasoning is flawed because you think swordless has been "brave" or whatever, its simply wrong, many other tasers made the rules bend, he made a good tas, among the "bests" you can hope, hence why its on the site, and it has _nothing_ to do with rules, but with the quality of the run he submitted. Basicly you are challenging the site with what you called yourself boring, be my guess, the result was already know before you submit, this attitude doesnt help _anything_ and rules are also there for that Now yeah, since it sound to be originally a prank, dont take anything i sayd too seriously, but it was just to answer to your "concerns" with rules.

Not just to say im valuable or anything, but yesterday morning when i saw all the seven reich member reference all around, i decided to not submit my april fool runs until the spam was removed (thanksfully it was removed shortly after) By itself the prank wasnt so offending, its the heavy spam on forum that was obstructing all the fun (of the april fool day, not the staff prank) Last year prank was incredibly smarter and more successfull, it feel like anytime nach lack creativity he will just speak of nazi or hittler... barelly a funny subject at all imo (while i agree with warp overall that its a good parody subject, im not coming to this forum for this basicly, so it was a bit overkill) edit: now i think we should move along, it isnt worth wasting our tasing time on this subject, but I appreciate the apology, thx for that. edit2: i didnt meant "last" year but 2010 yeah blame my poor memory...

I'm guessing picking up a Masamune from the Black Panther wouldn't have been faster than using...Werebane, was it? on Dracula.
It would have been faster, except we arent in luck mode and I couldnt drop anything at all, otherwise I would have get simply medusa shield + mablumg sword The sword I use is given already when you start this special mode, its the rapier (the fire sword, potions and relics as well are all given at start)

A pity the text drags on so slowly.
Funnly enought this run is still faster than published any% (that does skip cutscenes) I think its slow because its unfinished work syncing text and audio (they probly didnt had the voices yet), there must be a bug tho in the script because they are unskipable, while if you dont use the "special" demo mode (and sram), they can be skiped.

The whole special mode was overlooked (theres a library card in catacomb heh), but for their defense, with no knowledge on the game, theres basicly 0 chances someone would go trought the dark spiked room and exit the catacombs. Remember also that if this game is so buggy its mainly because IGA is kinda the worse dev you could ever come accross, just look at the re-release on psp, they went back to the original code and tryed to re-fix everything, result > the very first bug they fixed like a week after release (stealthy, same cd ect...) is now present on the psp, you can fight end dracula with richter, while it include fix from the latest (pal) release on psx like you cant use sword brothers to unlock menu, very very very poor programming/debug/testing skills overall (cant even make a decent changelog).

If its gpu related issue its unlikely to work with pcsx, since basicly they simply hard-wired pcsx one in psxjin, its same code. I doubt any other gpu plugin would sync anything btw, it would be strange

How many games use real emulation hacks ? I got re3 but is theres any other "leggit" hacks around ? MGS doesnt need it anymore so im not sure theres any others And yeah i think homebrew is a better term to speak of what we call hacks right now

...forced to open the binary file in Notepad++ when I'd prefer to open it with Hex Workshop by default...
The point of text file is to be easly editable, like in, when you tas, now for binary files, unless you are eating binary from morning to night, you wont edit it so easly. My main question is, why do you want to open the binary files anyway? Its not like you gonna change easly the input with a hex editor, so im assuming its more like to make little changes, while with a text file (and notepad++) yeah it make some sence, it can reload the file on the fly and you can stop/restart your movie in the emu quickly after some changes. Botom line, when you open the .tas and you see garbage you can close it, it wont be something youll heavly edit like you would with just text. Now all my excuses if you are one of those talented guys reading/writing binary as easly as text, "we" (the casuals, the average ect...) arent capable of this Edit: you could also just associate with the hex editor, then you would use the right click> open in notepad++ for text files (it work on any file type) I assume it is possible to make a context menu item working on any file extension and parsing the data then make the right choice, with .NET and stuff like that, I really see little point in this tho.

Just posting this in case somebody look for a decent memory card manager, psxjin rarely let you copy file between memory card, kinda annoying when you want to extract a particular save from a whole card and you dont want to use another emu just for that purpose http://www.zophar.net/utilities/psxutil/memcardrex.html It require .net 2.0 but it work perfectly fine and can read/save mcr (or others...) files

PSXjin v2.0.2 seems very laggy in some areas e.g. the room right after the first boss fight of CV: Symphony of the Night. It is fine in the left half of the room, but when you reach the right half, the lag count starts all of a sudden to increase every other frame and desync happens. You can play the published movie and turn on the lag counter to see it. Is it a bug?
Sry for necro answer but never saw your post, this problem isnt limited to sotn but happen as well in megaman, or others games, the only difference is those extra lag in sotn are manipulable and can go away with proper input (usually you just need to hold a direction and its gone) but yeah it make tasing much more tedious and less "perfect" (theres some I couldnt avoid anyway, or can ruin luck manipulation), its pretty random and many games arent affected tho

Thats where you probly didnt catch that we was 2 doing this, also i already did re1&re3 so im pretty used to it now :p The real reason im worried about branches isnt the judging of those 2 movies, like I sayd its more for the next ones with hunk and tofu im worried about, one thing important is the 2 methods arent compatible each others, while i can recycle A into a full movie A+B, I cant start seperatly B and then mix it with A, it wont work. Once we both went trought A, it also mean we can do B of the other, and somewhat keep the pace with same character. Only a fool would leave it to a random decision, the site have standarts, you have to respect them, or should I say you need to take care of details like that, while for the watcher it make little difference it can change a whole lot for tasing, not whiling the next revision of the run to "fix" something as trivial as how the movie should be made/end, just want to make things right. The problem is more the lack of time and others movies projects gathering dust on my hdd, but im pretty confident it will be this year (with re1 chris run, and eventually jill obsoletion)

Theres a scenario where you have to make the antivirus (save sheryl), while the other you dont (the pendant is on ada). I would say they are fairly enought different to warrant 2 runs, also it would be quite weird to have only 1 of the 2 scenario available. Im hoping for less than 2 hours, but yeah its big ass movies.

Beat A, save game, reset/change disc (its a feature the movie does support), load game and beat B This way it make only 1 movie instead 2, and no memcard are required (to validate B run)

After you beat A scenario (regardless who) the game save and you get to start B scenario (with the other character).

The question is what is the interrest to make 4 movies when you can have 2, you can just reset in middle and change disc. The difference in scenarios is ... kinda big, basicly it switch the side of the car in the intro movie, so claire get to "use" leon route and vice versa, since they dont have same side characters, weapons ect.... yeah it make a serious difference.

We was working with Uroboros on this (theres a thread on the forum), despite some technical issues (basicly it require hacks) its possible to tas it. Then we kinda went doing other stuffs, sometime this year I think we are going to finish the run(s), hopefully. Im not sure yet if its 4 movies (LA/CB/CA/LB) or 2 movies (LA+CB/CA+LB), its mostly a matter of what suit the best for the site, making too many branches might not be much revelant, theres also tofu and hunk scenario.

Im amazed nobody mentioned yet that the movie file is filled with garbage unsuitable for publication (ff9 and re2 savefile tem, really?) The run is good and all but its very amateur there, not the end of the world but someone should try to fix that :p
