"Abuses programming errors in the game" Really? Really? Ya think?! Also, best video ever. "Your show sucks" indeed.

Does button mashing in any of the Pokemon games have any effect whatsoever on catch rate? Theoretically it doesn't, but maybe there's something in the code that I don't know about because I didn't take apart the ROM myself? Probably not. EDIT: Also did holding A make an attack deal more damage? In case you're wondering, I'm not asking these questions for myself.

Good video, but I think it needs the + levels.

You know, there's a shortcut in the 5th special stage. The GMV (with savestate) Far from optimized, but you get the point, right? I'm pretty sure you can take the shorter-cut, too, but I couldn't figure out how to do it.

Bastet (fourth on the list). I've always wanted to know how high a score you can get on that game. EDIT: More useful link.

Awesome. I especially liked the driving in small circles. It's already published, but I'm voting "yes" anyway, because it's just that awesome.

IIRC, someone did a TAS of SSBM's adventure mode as Fox using an AR. So, we have them already, even if they're radically different from the TASs we have now.

I have to ask--is there any purpose to the 2nd controller input?

I liked it. It could be a lot better, but I liked it. You know what would be really awesome? If someone did this same run, but without getting the blocks so high that the music changes.

Ummm...wasn't Knuckles Chaotix a 32X game? And wasn't that on a CD to begin with? So, why'd that one work?
It worked because 32X is not CD-based, it's cartridge-based. So, no, it wasn't.

However, I still wanted to somehow see the game "beaten" swordless, so I went ahead and made this alternate ending for my own entertainment, using a savestate from Josh's first run: Zelda 1 swordless director's cut (2 MB) I used a RAM patch code instead of a Game Genie-like patch. This was much easier to find although not as elegant because it requires the code (00AD:002) be turned on only at a certain point rather than throughout the whole run.
Wait, what does this do? I've never beaten Zelda 1, so I can't tell by watching the video.

It improves the previous run. Good enough for me. Didn't vote, because, let's face it, why bother so long after it was published? Oh, and opposite day jokes are only funny if you realise that they're jokes. Which most people don't until someone posts "zOMG stop being so stupid with your jokes".

Wow, you answered a question I haven't yet asked about a run I'll probably never finish! No, not Megaman Xtreme 2. Panel de Pon 1P vs. mode.

I haven't watched the whole thing yet, so I'm not going to vote, but I watched the WIPs. The WIPs were good, and so far, this is better.

For Zero, obviously. The Body part cuts damage in half, which is useful if you take damage to save time, because you can do more of it. I don't know if the Arm part makes up for the time lost getting it, because I haven't really tested.

Yay, a new and improved WIP! For once "new and improved" is a completely true statement... There are 3 things I noticed that I could improve. 1. Early in the level I jump twice when I didn't have to. Jump-dashing from the first jump wouldn't take Zero far enough to hit the claw thing, but it would have been better to just dash through that spot. I think. 2. Occasionally I hit the boss a frame (or more) too late. Of course, I only notice this because it moves... 3. I should have fought the boss on the left side so that Zero wouldn't have to walk as far to talk to X. http://dehacked.2y.net/microstorage.php/info/1004/mmxt2.vbm EDIT: And it only goes through the intro level, and starts Wire Sponge's stage. Also, should I get the Leg and Head parts? They're useless, even if it isn't a speedrun. I'm not going to skip the Body or Arm parts.

I really want to see this run finished. Just because Sonic 1 is an awesome game and Knuckles is an awesome echidna. And since TAS's are awesome, this means an S1K TAS would be triple awesome! Mmm...triple awesome...

I had a look at your run. Although the run desynced at the Wire Sponge lift...
That's an odd place for it to desync. Which lift, the one with the Leg part under it or the one with 1HKO spike balls? He asked, as if that would help solve the problem.
FractalFusion wrote:
...I could tell that the run was not as fast as possible. It is faster to have Zero dash along the ground and jump (right+right+jump), rather than jump and air-dash.
That occurred to me. Too bad you can't dash-jump from a down+A dash, because down+A takes 1 frame and right-right takes 3.
FractalFusion wrote:
I also think the damage on the first boss was unnecessary.
Yeah...I don't know why I didn't fix that.
FractalFusion wrote:
I definitely look forward to your revision, so good luck on that. I just wonder what's causing the desync. I have the right ROM.
Got me.

And use frame advance! You'll be impressed.
I did and I am. No new WIP, because I don't have time to do much right now.

Is there a way to trigger a credit roll in this game? Because if there is, you could end it by doing that after catching Mew. But if not, well...

Shouldn't start over, you mean? I already started over, though, because I found about a million screwups in the first level, and I don't have a hex-editor, nor do I want to use one.

In Overdrive Ostrich's stage you could have taken damage from enemies to run through those fire beams while you are invulnerable.
You see, I didn't know that. Even a little. Which is sad, because I own this game. Or a broken cart of it, anyway.

I like this game. I like playing it, that is. However, unlike most other games, I gained no entertainment whatsoever by watching someone play through perfectly, possibly because perfection is not all that much faster than horribleness. Well played, but there's not a whole lot that can be done to make this run entertaining. Voted 'no'
