If you are not using one, you need to use an actual PSX BIOS (use 1001 [NTSC], not 9XXX [PAL]), not the HLE BIOS. Someone else had troubles playing games with a fake BIOS. If you already are using a real BIOS... well, :(

...I thought you said it had audio issues in the post I grabbed that torrent file from. Or was it problems with keeping the textures on at all times? If you are having other problems or if you are just waiting for bkdj, I'll edit what I said. Ok, fixing my post now...

bkdj is making the .mkv for this game. It will have a chapter set to see everything and a chapter set to skip all of the cutscenes (minus the final one). He is currently having issues with finding the time to finish the encode. Raiscan has made a .mkv using the cel-shaded texture pack. It has been completed, but the original version will be the default encode while this one will be an alternative version. You can grab it from this torrent: http://bluetoaster.net/tasvideos/zeldaocarinaoftime-tas-nomajorskip-celtex-bloobiebla.mkv.torrent (note: some video players have issues with keeping the audio synchronized) So basically we are just waiting for a judge to make a decision and bkdj's final encode. Then both videos will be published.

Of course, this is going in the complete opposite direction of this situation... Just an observation. Personally I don't see any reason to obsolete the old run with this one because when a run comes out in the same category as the old run, Bisqwit would have to fix the obsoletion timeline... If we had something like the star system or order by ranking (the latter of which we do have, it just isn't promoted), then this run should definitely come ahead of the old run. But there are all of the drawbacks to those systems already, so just forget them... New category, no obsoletion is my vote.

Unfortunately, the door trigger points seem to be part of the tileset... This is an example that shows me walking through what should be a door in an unloaded tileset area. Then I load the tileset and the door's trigger point is loaded (though I have no clue why there are so many graphical glitches here, the other places I tried were fine, except the doors were not big enough to easily prove my point). So unless all the doors you need are within an area with a map trigger point (which is highly doubtful), you will need the sound stone. http://dehacked.2y.net/microstorage.php/info/1182080848/blahmoomoo-earthbound-doors-dont-load.smv EDIT: oh yeah... the graphical glitches are due to the fact that the eagle eye (or whatever it is called) was not used at the entrance to this area since I went straight to the exit with the tendras.

I don't recall any glitches when playing this game myself (except for sprite flickering), though I did use the non-rerecording version. I look forward to seeing this! I sure hope the turbo mash on certain bros. attacks does not ruin the entertainment in the end.

7502 is a PAL BIOS, iirc... Running at 50 fps may not be the best idea.

Press the , key to display input. If that doesn't work, go to Input>Customize Hotkeys... and see which key is mapped to Show Pressed Keys.

IIRC, the huge problem with link emulation is that the rated transfer rate on the link is 2 MB/s, which is quite a large bandwidth (especially over a LAN, where 100 MB/s is definitely not guaranteed). Why Nintendo made the link have such a high possible speed, who knows.

For the record, it was me who made that topic for the reason Raiscan stated on page 1.

I have not watched this (therefore I am not voting), but is this game just a port of the SNES Zelda - A Link to the Past? If so, it is already published here: http://tasvideos.org/1125M.html If this game is just a port of the other game, then I highly doubt this would be published even if it was faster than the SNES version unless there is a huge glitch here that is not present in the other game (and yes, the SNES version has the staircase glitch too). You may want to browse through these pages before attempting another run (and search for the game on the site before starting too): http://tasvideos.org/WhyAndHow.html http://tasvideos.org/Guidelines.html http://tasvideos.org/Rules.html

You mean loading a save state while playing a movie simply restarts the movie?

Working... Now that I am using uTorrent (which uses much less processing power and memory than FDM while seeding), I should be seeding the Chrono Cross 27-part torrent at least 6 hours a day. EDIT: I can't seed continuously now, so if you can't download the videos you'll have to ask someone to seed them.

Ah, this is what I am looking for in a 1p run. I don't really care if the other one is published or not, but I say this one should be published. Yes vote! I would really like to see a multiplayer playaround though. EDIT: Yes, Glide64 is problematic with low end video cards. It works ok on the integrated graphics on my laptop for the most part, except every time it is run there is an error message of some graphics mode that's unsupported and Paper Mario always causes video exceptions and ends up crashing. It looks great with most games (especially Paper Mario if it didn't cause those background errors).

I recall the frame advance button being \ (backslash, not forward slash [above the enter key]) by default for some emulators... Then again, I can just sit back and wait for mappable hotkeys and then everyone will be happy. *retreats back into corner*

If we have a speed and entertainment oriented runs, the speed oriented run should be made with the target practice and platform thing completed instead of failing both... If that was declared as a neccessary rule, I would be perfectly fine with it. Repetitive as it may end up, it would be a quick completion. Besides, the records in those two stages add to the competition of squeezing every second out of that area. I would be a huge fan of a playaround for this game though, even if it ends up being the only published category for this game. If this or any other speed oriented run gets published, there had better be a playaround coming soon. I voted meh, by the way, in hope of a speed oriented run with ALL of the stages complete. (or a playaround, which would be even better)

Oh, you're talking about the crow, not the Starman Jr. Ok...

The Starman Jr. talks to Buzz Buzz before the fight begins, so something tells me that the fight is started using a command code instead of the standard touch an enemy and fight, which means that where you are in relation to the Starman Jr. probably does not matter.

I'm shutting down my torrent client again to free resources. If anybody else wants these videos, just request here or via IRC and I'll start it up again.

DeHackEd's upload server has a filter to only accept files with acceptable movie input extensions. Since .fc2 is a very new format for this site, it appears that DeHackEd simply forgot or didn't have the time to modify the filter to accept .fc2 files yet. (he may even need to modify the file size limit since the .fc2 format is bulkier, and may surpass the 2 MB limit for long movies that don't exist right now) EDIT: I nameflashed him on the IRC channel, so he should get my message when he comes back to his computer.

You would need to find the values for the hit boxes in the RAM somewhere. The game probably stores where two of the box corners are for every object in the RAM or something like that. Then you would need a LUA script to take those values and draw the hit boxes on the screen. A few people around here know how to do these things, but I don't know how easy it is to find these hit box values...

Here is what you do: To unlock Luigi in Super Mario 64, take your Nintendo 64 console as well as your television set and throw it out of a minimal two story window. Then, flush your Super Mario 64 cartridge down the toilet. Upon doing this, pour gasoline on your head and then light your hair on fire. If done correctly, you will unlock Luigi, who will then call you a complete moron. -Brian Sulpher and/or David McCutcheon Seriously, the only way you can get Luigi is through Photoshop or a ROM that was hacked so Mario looks green instead of red.

I was playing around a bit by using the movie to start ghosted and discovered that you can also unghost yourself (and probably get rid of the invisible line) by hitting the trigger point for walking diagonally on any staircase, not just the one you used to start the glitch. Although, if you hit the trigger on the top of a staircase, you have to be careful to only hit the stairs walking trigger point once, otherwise the game forces you to walk up diagonally for a bit, and then you're stuck because you can only walk diagonally now and running into the staircase again does the same thing. Here is the proper way to do it. Here is the wrong way to do it. (both of these movies had the characters ghosted with the blue staircase used in the example movie) Notice that I am not pressing anything at one point when Ness is walking diagonally in the wrong movie. Walking below the invisible line appears to simply put you in staircase diagonal walking mode and you can't get out (unless you are lucky enough to be lined up with a staircase or maybe a door). Warping below that line is a different story though, I suppose. Oh, and this is what going out of bounds looks like. The game kind of freezes for a bit, and then... HUH??? (note: if a different tileset was loaded, there would be a lot of graphical glitches while the game is frozen, but the one I used here wasn't interesting enough)

Alden, you forgot to change the link for the Megaman 1-6 run video (or maybe you just didn't notice the new one): http://files.filefront.com/meganewavi/;11399096;/fileinfo.html This one does not have the desync in MM3. EDIT: Super Mario Land 2 has a second submission (and now a publication). You should change the comment on the emulation glitched one to take note of this.
