And sorry I can't understand English well. After all, I'll start real run recording from snapshot. (Japanese TASers also helped me about this) However, I still hesitates about skipping cutscenes or not.

What...?
Do not start the real run from a snapshot, it will not be accepted. You have to start a run from reset.

Just for future reference, videos recorded with Jabo 1.6 will sync with Glide Napalm. However it turns out that some video cards display a black sceen when reseting the game with Napalm selected. And please tell me you didnt start the TAS from a savestate zvsp

Amazing Part 2 on youtube for those who dont know. Before you go further though I just noticed, there could be a technical problem with how you started the TAS. Technically u didnt create a new file in the TAS so idk if that would cause problems, you should check. Also, do u have a m64 of the Instant bomb tower thing? cause I cant get it working in the (U) version.

Yeah you guys should really face it by now. Mupen+ is not coming. You can wait another 99 years and the TAS still won't be complete because of the missing reset. Just do the run now and should mupen+ ever come out (which I highly doubt) you can still just redo the child part and hex in the adault part. Not _that_ big of a deal.
Due to OoT's strange luck manipulation its doubtful that the adult part could be hexed in, but regardless at this point it is doubtful that rerecording will come out in the emulator anytime soon and even then longer b4 it is ported to the windows build. Therefore you shouldn't let that hold you guys bak. On the other hand it is your TAS and I guess it is your choice on how to proceed, just my 2cents.

Actually I was working on an optimised version of this 100% TAS but please by all means go ahead b/c at this point im not even sure if Ill finish it. Plus the Instant bomb tower thing looks like it might make me go bak again..... Amazing Wip and if I keep going Im looking forward to some friendly competition

I'm...not sure whether to count gold tokens in a low%. It's sort of like individual rupees. You don't count these because they don't directly impact what you can do- if you buy item X, you count that, but not the rupees used to purchase it. This results in four items: adult wallet, stone of agony, giant wallet, bombchus. (Bombchus might not %up as they may be obtained elsewhere.)
God I wish OoT had a % counter Well the point of ringrush's plan is to get chus without needing any other items. Another much cleaner theory to do that is something I am trying(unsuccessfully) after Grunz discovered an OoB in the bottom of the well. But anyways while I dont disagree with either of your points, I would like to see deku sticks skipped in a less controversial way :/

From the screenshots posted a while back I would not be surprised if the fishing pond has already been reached. Of course the finders might be waiting to reveal it in the new any% run. If thats the case I can't wait to see it and can't wait till Mupen64Plus is finished

Ok for those curious, getting the Egg and Cucco to wake up Talon counts as two items and that is why we want bombchus early in order to skip them. We get deku sticks to replace two items with one. With this trick, we will be able to skip deku sticks and so thats another item skipped. So far I have backflipped through the roof, but not quite high enough to get over the wall and OoB. I'm almost positive its possible though. Also, you have to wait for the bubble to get around the well between backflips so it rlly takes pretty long. Maybe not as much as skipping spirit though.

Ah that's good to know. ^^ Maybe you should write it on the page somewhere. I think especially now where you don't have that much content, that would be a good idea... I think I'll do a page on the broken deku stick and Wrong Warp Glitch. So I'll come to the irc channel later. ^^
Its on the bottom of the main page of each game section. Theres a tutorial on how to do it and a template to get you started. Currently Petrie is the only one making MM pages.

Wow some of these things are really unexpected. I always thought it was the consensus in recent years that sidehopping is faster than backwalking. Guess that's not entirely true. And Zora swimming is not faster than backwalking? really? it seems so fast... Don't you gain speed when backwalking/sidehopping with the bunny ears? And backwalking is as fast as using them? Wow... In general I don't like this site very much, since only a hand full of people can contribute hence it takes forever to get some info on it (I would have liked a wiki where you can only post when you are registered better) but that is some usefull information!
Everyone can contribute slowking, in fact weve been trying to get more ppl to. Just come to the irc and ask cosmo how to submit your page

In MST the slingshot isnt skipped, at least in the current route. And to stop people from getting the wrong idea abt low%, RBA is not and cannot be used to lower the %. Also anything that is even temporarily put into the inventory by RBA is counted as an item so I don't rlly see why people object to it.

OK looked over it. There is one question I just have to ask. I guess it's probably been answered before and I'm just missing something huge, but why not just get the Bomchus from the bottom of the well after getting Zeldas Song and letter? It's near to Dodongos cavern so the way to Kakariko shouldn't be a waste and the well should be faster than the child portion of the Spirit Temple (mostly due to not having that chatty Sage blocking the entrance). Furthermore you could SS/ISS through the desert, which should save a bucketload of time and you don't have to come back to plant the magic bean, as you can do this part as the last thing you do as a child...
The Deathwarp to skip the ZL cutscene, and being able to use chus to skip Talon saves time. But if the death warp could be done with the slingshot bomb, well chus might save enough time.

How much damage does ISG do? In OoT it does the same as a power crouch stab, but since MM doesn't have it, wut damage would it have? If its better than arrows, ISG + HISSing might be an awsomer alternative to the arrows

The Linux build isnt much closer, but supposedly a branch is in the works that will eventually add rerecording and (hopefully) ported to windows soon after that

To clarify, the glitch works with something that deactivates A,B, and C buttons(like the tunnel). For w/e reason the game takes a while to reactivate the controls after you climb out of the tunnel so that if you do something else that deactivates your buttons(like activating text), the game will reactivate the buttons while you are talking. Anywhere these conditions can be met, the glitch should be able to be activated

Here's...something http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=emLAUC0Zz8k If we can find a way to gain access to this without cheating, it could really help with speedruns.
Ive always said RBA wouldve been a much more useful glitch in MM than OoT. Much more things can be stored in bottles and theres much more to unlock. For w/e reason though, the programmers fixed the code so that RBA will not work in MM

hmmm, I've been thinking. Can't that trick be used elsewhere in the game also? If it can, isn't there other places such a trick would save time?
Elsewhere yes, save time who knows it still needs more testing

Curious when do you ever need an ocarina? I thought it was already skipped(using the old forest escape method of course).
Never, if you need to use an ocarina to learn a song the game glitches it into ur hand, and if you ever need it to play a song, the OI glitch lets u do that w/o the ocarina

Does this mean you could skip child sword and shield for low%?
Cant skip sword b/c u need it for DoT skip as has been said b4 (cant get sticks to B w/o sword) You need the shield for megaflipping the gap in spirit temple and getting to the adult side of spirit to get the mirror shield Plus you would have to get Deku nuts and the ocarina which adds 2 more items making it pretty unfeasible

Hex Editing for m64 in TASedit is still rlly untested. The better alternative would be to use a real binary file hex editor and edit it that way

What do you need deku sticks for?
Getting to the chus in spirit temple so you can skip the egg/cuccos needed for Talon. Ive done a bunch of things to attempt to skip them but as far as I can tell its a dead end. -Entering spirit temple from the mirror shield ledge requires explosives to blow up the beamos -Entering spirit from gauntlets ledge requires small key -Cant enter from the normal way w/o getting a small key that wont appear if you dont light torches with a deku stick -Cant get explosives from the well because you need either explosives already or Zelda's lullaby to lower the water and use kazooie's skultula clip. Unless something big is discovered, it doesnt seem like the deku sticks are going anywhere :(

@ Kirkq Very nice run the second one. Why wait for Mupen+ for windows to continue? Takes 2 hours max to get linux
Mupen64+ rerecording for linux is still very experimental so its probably not a very good idea to rely on it. Here is the progress http://code.google.com/p/mupen64plus/issues/detail?id=58#c11

Also the 100% run is also being reworked by Mp16 his progress so far is on youtube as well. The site is still quite incomplete so its not too much of a help yet EDIT: Ive been meaning to ask but how exactly do you get a ESS from a megaflip? Ive been trying for a while with no luck because all I get is a super slow ESS.
